CMV. Not opposed to it but remember we are individuals and sometimes surveys are skewed and unrealistic still. Can you link or direct me to your resource for that 20% ? I’m actually interested. What I’m finding is showing that it’s actually quite opposite. The NCHS reported between 2015-2019 (a little dated, I know) that about 76% of women report only feeling attraction to opposite sex. 14% said “mostly same sex” And men said 90% only opposite sex. So that means about a 10% difference. Yes, more…

Idk how else to say this but it is not any sex workers fault that a man doesn’t manage his money well and goes into debt for porn. I actually think it’s very infantilizing to act like men aren’t able to handle themselves like that. I understand that addiction exists and I do empathize. I think that if a man is willing to work on it and improve then good, I won’t judge him for spending money on porn. If he continues to do it , doesn’t see a problem, and never changes then he will likely spend his…

I don’t know where you got your insight on but as a straight woman the idea of kissing another woman is repulsive to me. Are you sure you’re talking about straight women? If they felt that way, wouldnt they just identify as bisexual? Your reality is not reality and I hope you can see that.

Valid. This person is delusional. To think it is “common for straight women to insert a ton of non-straight behavior” He’s talking about bisexual women. If you’re a woman who likes men but is attracted to other women and would kiss and touch another woman, then you are not a straight woman. Why are they calling them straight? And why do they post so much about lesbians? Like what????

Personally I only ever complain about men being like super sexually driven, or like dismissing my pms as “bitching” or something like that. Or men who talk over me on purpose, that’s a big one lol. That being said when women on here actually give advice like, “women often prefer when a man doesn’t do insert hypersexualized/misogynistic/generally rude, irresponsible, or unpleasant behavior” then men will be like “ur asking too much of ur boyfriend” so idk. That being said, I don’t know a single w…

I’ve definitely noticed that the things men claim “all women want,” are often only things actually said by conventionally attractive , college aged women. That shit doesn’t apply to older women , or even “college aged” women who have different lifestyles and priorities. They’re asking women who literally are partying in club clothes…. Not women who are working full time jobs, raising children, or who just have vastly different lifestyles than that. And those guys wouldn’t wanna date a club girl …

Yeah, “heteronormative” straightculture is weird. Like the bachelor/ette thing lol. And I don’t think it’s how a lot of straight people actually care to live. Some internalize it. Some only take dating advice from Reddit lol

That is definitely a HUGELY real point to make at the end there….. thanks for that, keep being real lol I’m even iffy about places like hooters. I think if you really trust your partner and are comfortable with it, cool. Maybe it’s a work party or a friends birthday they don’t want to miss. But even so, it’s kinda odd to me to go to a breastaurant as a taken man by personal choice with the intent being the women who work there. Idk, pretty much anything that involves going out of your way for se…

See that’s how I really feel about it but admitting that tends to get you some pretty nasty replies. Not fun. I think single people and people in open relationships/communicated boundaries watching porn is whatever. People who call themselves monogamous and claim to be “loyal” without agreeing to porn being “ok” make 0 sense to me It has never made to sense to me why touching someone else irl or sending nudes through personal connection would be considered cheating, but watching other people do …

I’m not even a huge fan of that logic. Because realistically yeah in a purely objective study where women (or men) are asked to based attractive solely on photos of strangers, of course the younger, fitter people will be ranked higher than older people or less in shape people. But that’s such an objective and surface level example that doesn’t really express the nuance in individual people’s wants, needs, and desires both romantically and sexually. I think many men do not mind what their partner…

Many men in real life do not care that much about looks and have a lot more priorities in relationships Same goes for women Idk it’s like these people don’t leave the house. I work at a very very busy thrift store. It’s kind of a trendy place and it’s in a fancier area. I get a lot of very attractive, normal looking, and “ugly” people coming in every single day and so many of them from every range are in relationships. Laughing, talking, smiling at their partners, anyone with eyes would be able …

That’s a valid perspective. I think it just comes down to the individual. No one can force them to make the decisions they need to make. The decisions they would make might be different than what others would do.

I think it’s mostly just how new friends aren’t guaranteed by any means. Especially as an adult, it can be difficult to make new friends. So it’s not necessarily this or that, but more coincidentally, how do I know I’ll make new friends if I do want to distance from these people? I guess I’m trying to say if his friend is bothered by his own friends behaviors, doesn’t even feel supported by them, and has to pretend to be someone he’s not to be around them without arguing, why continue? I think s…

I think dying on the hill of “but the action was good” just ends the conversation before it really needs to be ended. Why end it there? By ignoring the rest of it and saying, “but the action was good so that’s the main point,” then what really is the point? No one is debating that. It just feels like deflection. It feels like avoiding accountability. Trying to shine a light on the part that says, “this was actually a good thing” completely erases the rest of the situation. “The action was good, …

I think that doing something nice to get a reward is not the same thing as doing something nice from the bottom of your heart. I also think doing nice things from the bottom of your heart does grant you a reward. Even a thank you, a “you’re doing great,” something small but I don’t think that doing a good thing just to get a reward is the right reason to do a good thing. If the good thing was done with the intent of gaining something, it didn’t come from the same morally good place as just doing…

Great points. Especially loved your point at the end about missing out. That is a horribly toxic mindset. I like to think because I’ve seen it happen, that average men (and women, when applicable), as they age, will eventually stop caring about looks because they are more focused on the life they built with a person who they love. I also definitely know that the media doesn’t help, and many men who are socialized have unfortunately only socialized with certain groups of men who never look within…

Agreeeed. People on this thread often think in black and white and think that “visual attraction = determined, destined attraction in general.” You can be the most conventionally hot guy in the world and if ur personality sucks, I’m going to find you ugly. But also, they seem to think that people in real life work like this, man or woman, “that person looks good. I’m in love now. I want to marry them and be with them forever.” When realistically for most average every day people, it’s like, “oh,…

I appreciate the last thing you said in this comment. I’ve found that many men will basically die on the hill of, “I should be allowed to watch porn, and any woman who expects me not to is controlling, denying my biology, and irrational.” A lot of guys do not seem to realize that just not being overly horny/sexually driven/porn oriented adds a ton of attractiveness points for women. Most women want a man that is both physically and mentally monogamous for the most part (can’t control attraction …

I agree. I just like edgy stuff- my beliefs do often fall more left leaning compared to right leaning, but I don’t like to label myself into a box because I know that many of my perspectives won’t match what online liberals or leftists believe. I’m not really “sensitive” I mostly just dislike actual real life racists, homophobes, sexists, etc. Side note because your comment made me think of it. The thing they don’t get is that every guy I dated that turned out to be bad presented himself as very very good at first In fact I’d argue that decent men became hard to read because bad men would pretend to be decent for a certain period of time then a shift would come, so when men decent, brain goes, “is this a threat? Like last time? Can I trust this? Cuz last time, I couldn’t.” Most men talking about their shitty exes did not go into those relationships just well aware with all of the red f…

But because my hair is blue and I’m over weight… I am constantly generalized and treated as if I must be an overly sensitive crazy bitch hahahaha meanwhile if they heard the jokes my bf makes or my actual political views they’d know damn well I don’t fit the big stereotype for blue haired liberal women lo…

Yeah… that’s why this post confused me. It’s men in this sub constantly using “biology” as excuses to stare, be attracted to many women based on appearance alone with 0 knowledge of personality, and claim that men are “mostly visual”. Meanwhile it’s women saying “personality matters too” and those same men tell them they’re lying basically. Sometimes I see men say “mainly women” or something and it’s just baffling cuz it will apply to a large majority of men, sometimes equal to ormore than women

I am unfortunately not a straight woman who doesn’t watch lesbian porn. I don’t watch porn at all, but I used to and it was predominantly lesbian. But I think you are underestimating how many “straight” men like men in porn. Whether it’s femboy stuff, just gay stuff, gay power fantasy, etc. A lot of straight men have gay fantasies as well but it is way more socially frowned on. It’s not fair, but that is reality right now. Gay women get sexualized and gay men usually just get turned into a joke.…

What the unattractive feminist man wants is probably a lot different than what you’re assuming he wants. I’m sorry that you have such a skewed view of love. It’s very sad. Many people fall in love regardless of appearance, male or female. Many people are shallow. I hope you can experience evidence of real romantic love that isn’t dictated by external factors one day.

The unattractive feminist male may not get bitches every day, but is way more likely to have a successful and actually happy long-term relationship.

I have been dating my partner for only 2 years, I’m not even 25 yet and that was never what I want. I’m sure you would see things like that if you surveyed both women AND men in the same exact way. That being said the internet or even research surveys don’t represent all women , and many women who are young have never had a “hoe phase” don’t want one and are naturally not very shallow Also we don’t want kids so that part has nothing to do with it in my personal case.

This is why 1) I don’t take advice from the internet because everyone is different the internet is a cesspool of repeated information but 2) I also recognize that some men might live differently than how I want in a partner, and that’s fine, but they will have to find a woman who is okay with it and I will have to find a man who doesn’t have those traits. My boyfriend and I are extremely compatible and built a friendship before a relationship so I know what I was getting into, discussed expectat…

We’re poor. Like, actually poor. My partner makes under $50k, and somehow we survive. We save when we can, get small fun things when there’s extra, and make it work. It isn’t luxurious, but I love him and I’m grateful we aren’t on the street. If I didn’t have him, I’d survive anyway. I’d probably move back in with my parents, regroup, and start over. I lived on my own for years before him. But a serious car accident when I was 17 left me with chronic hip damage, and over the last two years it’s …

I agree with the idea that men often center women as much as, if not more than, women center men. But I think the why behind that matters. From a really young age, boys are taught by media that women are the prize. That getting a woman is success. That sex is success. That having an attractive girlfriend is social status. Dating an “ugly” woman is failure. Not dating at all is failure. Being celibate is failure. And socially, not even performing interest in women comes with a penalty. If you don…

One of my boyfriend’s old friends called him a simp for spoiling me so much early on. I was actually cautious, because my trauma brain was like, “uhhh.. love bombing?” but it’s been 2 years and the spoiling has not stopped, he’s awesome, and I learned the difference in affectionate gift giving and love bombing lol Now I get a lot less random gifts but he pays most of our bills and still buys me video games, manga, Legos, all the nerdy bullshit I like. I had to say this to the other person in another comment section but are you assuming my boyfriend was coerced into having these opinions? Men like you are so bothered by the idea of men having their opinions shifted by women, that you can’t even accept the fact that some men just naturally feel these ways. Funny enough the commenter above you who im going to block because they’ve now commented the same thing at me on two separate posts, assumed I made him cut off his friend too. I didn’t, and I…

Have you ever considered that there are men who just actually agree with women? And it isn’t some ploy to trick them or something? And they weren’t coerced or manipulated into it? You complain that women want men to just believe what they believe, but can’t fathom the idea of a man coming up with these beliefs through his own free will? I’ve noticed that on Reddit when I say, “my boyfriend cut off a friend” or something, the automatic assumption from men is that I made him do it. I told him to k…

I can’t clarify a full perspective but I’d like to add something to this. And im going to be fully honest. Part of the reason I end up wanting to dress in more exposing ways is because of comparison and self esteem issues. When it’s hot, I’ll wear as little as possible. I live in the south of the US and it is unbearably hot. I’m not wearing booty shorts and a tank top to look good during the summer. But in general, if it’s not for heat purposes, I’m typically doing it because I feel insecure. We…

So honestly the thing is my boyfriend was one of those guys hence why I even brought him up. At 20 he was overweight, balding early, and being actively emotionally abused by a really horrible woman in a long distance relationship that constantly sent him pics of other men and said she wishes he looked like that So he wasn’t “alone” per se but clearly he was lonely. He did not have any form of “good woman” going after him or wanting to be with him. Trust me, I was an unconventional girl growing u…

U have a point, but yeah idk lol Also idk if that last part is sarcasm. I’m not gonna lie im sure my bf will have sexual feelings for another woman at some point, and me, with another man. Ur good, dude. Ur point makes sense that way. I am just defensive about this stuff. You don’t even know the kinda deep conversations about gendered stuff I have had with my partner. He’s struggling lately with his place as a man. Generalizations have been his like, biggest trigger. I have a soft spot for that, and I am also just a very direct and outspoken person. Thanks for acknowledging it. I am actually someone who generally is supportive of men’s mental health, men’s issues, etc, but I and I…

Rage bait Edit to add btw cuz I did just lurk ur profile after I got home from work and a year ago you said “porn is the last thing on my mind when I started having actual sex” so what??? You can acknowledge that porn wasn’t on ur mind but ur baffled at the idea that maybe my bf …. Feels the same way? While actively living with the woman he gets to have sex with all the time? Lol weird
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 01:20 AM

That is the issue I have with this seriously. Individual men are well… individual. Different. The OP said “men need casual sex” implying it’s literally necessary for their wellbeing. It’s not. It was for him, and that’s good that he grew, but this is a generalization the moment he said “need”. I think I’d have a different perspective on this post if he said “some men need” or “many men” or just at some point specified that “hey, this does not apply to every guy.” I’d also argue that if a woman s…

Idk I just don’t personally believe it’s biological and I haven’t found enough evidence to prove that it’s biological and not heavily societally influenced behavior. That’s my take, really. I could go on about the reasons but I kinda fear I’ll just be argued with in bad faith. I just don’t think that it’s all biological because of the amount of men I’ve met who are so non-sexual. The amount of men I have met who do not value looks. The relationships I’ve witnessed where the woman is not very con…

It’s just weird when I hear these things because I don’t relate. I’m a woman and I don’t give a shit about any of this. I don’t view men these ways at all. I love this post because this really makes me think of my boyfriend and how much he’s grown in this way because when we first met, I wouldn’t say that he was anywhere near red pill ideas but he definitely had some skewed views on things like feminism and “man haters”. Honestly I relate to the women ur talking about but with nuance Before I met my partner, I said I would never date anyone ever again because the trauma I experienced directly from men and witnessed indirectly through my friends the media, the news , etc had quite literally made it to where being around a man basically set off my fight or flight mode. Personally you’re right for me. I had made the first move on a guy once or twice, but because I was so used to be outright insulted and called horrible names for not being attractive enough for the guy I asked out, I am now afraid to make a first move on any man. Unless he’s made it very obvious. Even then, I get scared, because I’ve had men flirt w me and seem like they rly like me only to laugh in my face when I acknowledge their obvious flirting. So idk.

I think it’s really weird when men try to generalize other men. Your language here is super projective. “He needs to be honest with himself about it” is insane. I am also not fully understanding your point, so forgive me if I have misunderstood? I am not trying to be a dick but trying to really converse here.
