I know it wasn’t the person who posted it here. Sorry, I probably should’ve clarified that.

Thanks for that

I and many other women have dealt with a situation like this (rape/sexual assault) and received no help whatsoever, so it's not perfect for us either, don't invalidate that. And I don't think you read everything I said, because I gave a bunch of examples of how women have been oppressed throughout history. Also I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'strawman.' I know a few definitions of that word and don't know what you're thinking of, so I'd like to know if you're willing to tell me.

Look at my reply to another comment and educate yourself. I'm not doing research for you. I go over many ways that women and girls have been oppressed and neglected.

Are you shitting me? How is that a matriarchy? It's one part of the U.S. government, which is filled to the brim with corruption all around, regardless of gender. Grow up.

This does not go to say that men don't have their own issues. It literally cannot be denied that women have historically been oppressed much more than men.

How about women not being able to vote? Women not being able to have bank accounts of their own Women and girls being literally bought and sold Systematic rape of women/girls (it's real, look it the fuck up) Objectification of women/girls and their bodies Women being lobotomized and/or sedated to serve their husband's/families The Salem Witch Trials targeting mainly women Women/girls not being given access to education Slut shaming, which mainly targets women/girls The lack of medical research (…

In a lot of cases, this subreddit is great at pointing out misandry and the 'feminists' that think they're so much better than everyone else, but as with every subreddit that delves into issues like this, people aren't always right when they claim something is misandry, misogyny, etc.

I've legit seen/heard people use this logic more times than anyone ever should (granted witnessing it even one time is once too many)

Yep. I guarantee a person like the one who made the video would blame men for that shit. People like her blame every little thing on men. It's disgusting

The fact that it's not even considered rape makes me furious beyond anything words can explain

That’s not what the fuck a matriarchy is. What is wrong with people?
/r/EverydayMisandry15/04/26 10:06 PM

There absolutely is a patriarchy. If you don’t want to call it that, fine, but by definition (a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it), most of the world is and has been a patriarchy. That doesn’t mean that men don’t have struggles of their own within society/in general, of course, it just means that systematically, throughout history, patriarchy is most apparent.

Women have not ‘always’ been a priority in most places throughout history. Where did you get that from (genuinely curious)?

It makes me sick how many people of all genders are raped, assaulted, etc., made worse because they feel like they have to keep it to themselves to avoid judgement, threats, and/or punishment for something that's not their fault. I'm positive the statistics on every part of the spectrum would be so much higher if the justice system wasn't so fucked up.

I hate the "I don't think everyone of a certain gender is bad, and it's not every _____, but always a _____." Like, no, it's not 'always' a specific group of people (especially when it comes to gender, race, and similar things). My mother did some crazy shit, way worse than my dad and some other men in my life, so can we not make disrespectful generalizations, people? It's not that hard.

I just watched the ad and, as a woman, am disgusted, by how men are portrayed in this ad. Men aren’t depraved or animalistic just because they’re men. Also what does any of this have to do with the actual product the company is selling?!

That’s true. I’m sorry, and thank you for pointing that out

Anyone who is a good person deserves love and praise! My father is an excellent person and deserves all the love in the world. I don’t care that what he does for me is required of him, he does it because he wants to, not because he has to, and I can still appreciate that he cares for me!

Toxic masculinity is bad. There’s no questioning that. Some people redefine it and make it apply to all masculinity, but anyone with any brain cells knows that masculinity is not inherently bad. One gender having power over the other is unacceptable, man, woman, or otherwise. Patriarchy sucks. Matriarchy sucks. Gender supremacy fucking sucks. Bringing someone down or saying their opinion is invalid because of their gender and bragging about it, being proud of being a ‘man hater,’ saying you’re ’…

You guys need to quit putting words in my mouth and making assumptions about my beliefs. When did I say that identifying as a man makes someone ‘the wrong gender?’ And for the record, I don’t think having a Matriarchy is a good idea either. There is something really wrong with those who think that one gender is superior to another and/or deserves control over the other.
/r/EverydayMisandry19/03/26 06:21 PM

Thank you! I don't understand why people have a problem with me hating gender supremacy. I feel like that says more about them than it does about me.

Hating all men is unacceptable, so some of these images are disgusting. Hating the patriarchy is not misandry/hating every single man that has ever walked on this planet, it's hating that one gender has control over the other. If women had more control over men, you lot would hate it, so if men have more control over women, then you should hate that too. Otherwise you're a goddamn hypocrite.

You contradicted yourself a lot there.

Ew. Just ew. The audacity some people have absolutely baffles me (I’d say worse but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to). How about we just don’t sexually harass people? Is that too much to ask? God, I hate people who behave like that.

It makes me so mad that people always assume men are the abusers in relationships. I wish you the best and am so, so proud of you for getting away from your ex. Take care 🫶
/r/EverydayMisandry16/03/26 12:51 AM
2

You don't need to thank me! You deserve lots of credit, abusive relationships are really hard to get out of. I'm a woman, so I don't know exactly what it's like for you (I'm assuming you're a man, I'm sorry if I'm wrong), but I can imagine how hard it must have been for you
/r/EverydayMisandry12/03/26 11:49 AM

Why do people have to be so disgusting/uncomfortable when men have emotions?!
/r/EverydayMisandry12/03/26 02:29 AM
1

Why? There is literally no reason is there to hate every single man/AMAB on this planet just for existing! Androphobia resulting from trauma is the only thing I can think of that would reasonably make someone nervous around men/AMABs, and that doesn’t excuse treating people like shit!
/r/EverydayMisandry12/03/26 02:24 AM

I hate when people say that stuff! And then I get weird looks for calling it out. It’s so infuriating!
/r/EverydayMisandry12/03/26 02:18 AM

I’m a woman and no the fuck I do not. Most of us want equality, not matriarchy or patriarchy. I don’t know what these women are on.
/r/EverydayMisandry12/03/26 02:17 AM

Yes it’s bad. What the fuck are you on?
/r/EverydayMisandry12/03/26 02:13 AM

I’m sorry you were put through that situation. I’m so glad you’re doing better! You’re very strong for getting through that relationship

That’s a great girlfriend right there!

I wish you the best of luck in finding true women friends. Misandrist women (and misandrists in general) suck.

As a woman myself, the person that posted this never met some of the women in my biological family…. What makes this even more ironic is that usually it’s the dudes in my family that are great people. Don’t get me wrong, I know shitty guys too, but I know just as many shitty women.

Ew, what the actual fuck? People like this make me sick

I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Now I feel stupid…
/r/EverydayMisandry21/01/26 11:49 AM

What men are being talked about here? I’ve met maybe one or two dudes that are obsessed with their dicks and it was a couple of dumbasses from high school. How about we just stop being assholes about each others’ bodies? And hey, my fellow humans (women especially in this context), if you can’t take it, don’t dish it out. To everyone out there, if people are shaming your bodies, I encourage you to do it back. It’s petty, but sometimes people need petty, they deserve a taste of their own medicine…

The fact that this sort of thing is an issue makes my blood boil. Men deserve to be treated with as much respect as women. People are ridiculous.
/r/EverydayMisandry17/01/26 05:37 PM

As a woman myself, I understand and respect that people may not be comfortable with certain genders, man, woman, or in between. If it’s an option for one, it should be an option for all, or, for fairness’ sake, and option for none (which is the less ideal alternative). Nobody deserves more accommodations than others when it comes to comfort.
/r/EverydayMisandry17/01/26 05:27 PM

I’m sorry I can’t control the actions of every single person in the universe. I call out misandrists whenever I can, that’s the best I can do for you. The literal definition of feminism is: belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests. I’m sorry people suck and have ruined that definition for you, but they are not feminists. Don’t compare other women, including myself …

Women like the one in this comment drive me insane. I don’t associate with them if I don’t have to and call them out on their bs.

As a woman myself, that is absolute bs

Wth do you mean it 'never existed?'
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:26 PM

As a woman, I want to throw up. This person has no right to call themself a feminist.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:25 PM

Do you know what feminism actually is? There's feminism and there's toxic feminism, which deserves a different name entirely.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:23 PM
2

Men/women/those in between all do that. They shouldn't, but it's not a one-gender thing.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:21 PM
1

It's still good to be cautious when meeting someone for the first time, man, woman, or in between.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:19 PM

Seriously. I hate when people act like fearing the other gender is a woman-specific thing. As a woman myself.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:19 PM
2

As a woman, I fully understand. I don't trust people by gender, I just don't trust people in general. Caution is a good thing to have. I'm sorry that's something you and many others fear.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:18 PM

I thought this subreddit was against generalizing by gender.
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:16 PM

I am genuinely terrified to do anything and everything out of fear of someone, doesn't have to be one gender or another, hurting me. It is a real fear, just not for a lot of people. And, just curious, what do you mean by 'ladies protest too much?'
/r/EverydayMisandry15/01/26 07:15 PM
