I do think the Democrats have had a logical fallacy operating in their approach for years. Women have been significantly behind men in a lot of ways, and it wasn't wrong to focus on that. It was a logical fallacy to think that supporting men where men need support somehow runs counter to supporting women. But I stand by my comments on not using the worst of a group to pretend that's everyone's view. I can give you people very influential in conservative politics who believe what I'd stated earli…

Yeah, all for the second amendment. I've got a glock, ruger, and shotgun at home. I was referring to things like due process, which the founders felt pretty strongly about (I'm sure you know that though. Conservatives care a lot about the constitution and the founders). Glad you mentioned free speech. That's another one that the Trump administration is toying with. It's pretty clear in the constitution that it applies to all people (and past supreme court decisions confirm this), but the Trump a…

If I chose the worst of the Republican party and painted with such broad a stroke, I'd say that Republicans don't want women to vote, be able to get a divorce. Let's be reasonable instead of just being inflammatory.

If you like the 1st amendment, you probably shouldn't be too happy with Trumps request to shoot peaceful protestors in the legs. If you like the 2nd amendment, you probably shouldn't be too happy with how quick Trump was to say that we should take people's guns first and ask questions later. If you like the constitution, you probably shouldn't be too happy with Trump saying that sometimes you have to suspend the constitution. If you like a representative democracy in general, you probably should…

Better to lose an election than lose a democracy. Republicans can win the next election with a respectable candidate. Lose the democracy, and well, that's not something you get back by rolling out of bed one day in November and casting a vote.

Men should vote to preserve the rule of law that our founding fathers set up hundreds of years ago. Donald Trump doesn't give a shit about the rule of law or the Constitution.

As a man who cares about the constitution and not fucking up what the founders started, I can easily say that while Harris may not appreciate all the difficulties that men encounter, Donald Trump only cares about himself. Fuck Trump and his democracy hating lackeys.

Nearly all of the people who testified during the Jan 6 hearings were Republicans. The judges who said Trump's claims of election fraud were Republicans. I get that you don't like and probably even hate the left, but these are not lies from the left, they are truths from your own side.

I think there are pockets within the democratic party that very much match what you're saying, but I believe they are a vocal minority. In the same way you can find absolute psychos on the right, you can find total crazies on the left. If we're just talking about men's rights and not broader issues, then I feel pretty firm that the best strategy is to build a coalition with subgroups from both parties that draw in what these subgroups care about and the crazy extremes can be mostly ignored.

Agreed. As someone who grew up very conservative and voted R until not too long ago, it's maddening that I can't support the conservative issues I care about unless I also support the fucktards in charge of the Republican party. I vote democrat now, but I still hold many conservative views and principles. I own many guns, but would be fine with better background checks. I'm with you on the education bit. IMO, society will progress the fastest when we aren't wasting the talents of our population. For the same reason that I think countries that discourage (or prevent) women from being educated, I think that ignoring declining numbers of men getting degrees and advanced degrees is a major mistake that has ugly personal as well as societal implications. You are willfully ignoring the core argument in hopes of a technical victory. That's what's most interesting. You can say. Registering for a draft is not conscription. But let's say that it was. Let's say that forced conscription is still ongoing. It wouldn't matter for the core of the argument, which is that no one is being sent against their will since the 70s. That is the falsehood in the argument I have been attacking since the beginning, but you seem intent in dodging.
/r/MensRights23/07/22 05:22 PM
1

What's your point? My point is that Men still have to register for the draft when they turn 18 in the United States. Yeah, you are right, registration for the draft is still a thing. My point is explicitly about what the op said. The argument from the op says talks about CURRENTLY sending people off to die against their will and CURRENT conscription. I'm calling out that this isn't true and hasn't been for a long time. My point is that once corrected, the OP's argument or statement is a lot weak…

No, you are pretending to correct me but continually dodge the fact that the op states societies that send their men off to die against their will. This is a present tense statement, but it is not happening.

Ah yes, backyard squabbles. I'm sure vets of recent military action who took enemy fire in guerrilla style urban warfare and who had to contend with roadside IEDs and deployment after deployment would call such activities "backyard squabbles." It's a nice arguing technique, though, minimize anything that doesn't support your argument. Do it all you like. My point still stands, the OP's statement is PRESENT TENSE, and PRESENTLY, we do not do what the OP says. It's a shitty argument, there are a l…
/r/MensRights16/07/22 10:41 AM

Look. This is really simple. The op is present tense. The argument tries to gain strength from an extreme that doesn't currently exist. It is not true that America, at least, does what the op suggests. If you want to water the argument down to what America does do (forced registration) as you seem to want to do, that's fine, but it's not what is being argued here and it's far weaker as a result.

Well it is one that no longer forces military involvement. That seems pretty critical to the two sentence argument presented by the OP, both of which center on conscription. Am I taking crazy pills? How is it that people can't just let a bad argument go? Why does it have to be that even poor arguments are supported with all sorts of twists and mental gymnastics? This is not a zero sum game. We can fight for better outcomes for men and women. But first, people must recognize where disparities exist. I'm critical of men's rights on a regular basis for feeling like it has to tear down women to build up men, your post is in a similar vein. Nowhere in here is an argument that women suffer no injustice or that they are all better off in all situations than men, so please don't pretend like that is the argument that's being made.

I don't keep forgetting. I'm trying to qualify, and you refuse to understand it. When I listed it, I listed it as a component of what people would generally understand as a part of the definition of toxic masculinity. The majority of violence definitely does come from "toxic masculinity." Men are presumed violent, either because of the poisonous nature of "male-dominated" society, or inherent traits. Extreme feminists believe this- no doubt. And if that is exclusively who this is written to, then I don't have a problem with it. My problem is painting with too broad a stroke. With the majority of violence coming from toxic masculinity (your words), then people would have pretty negative views on the military r…

I'm concerned that what we're seeing in this moment is more than that - that there is instead a growing undercurrent of suspicion that is placing men beyond reach of affirmation by the community, though not beyond reach of censure and ridicule. Can you point me to a widely-accepted definition that is drastically different from this? Here is from Wikipedia: The concept of toxic masculinity is used in academic and media discussions of masculinity to refer to certain cultural norms that are associated with harm to society and to men themselves. Traditional stereotypes of men as socially dominant, along with related traits such as misogyny and homophobia, can be considered "toxic" due in part to their promotion of violence, including sexua…

I don't think the violence in the Lord of the Flies is an example of toxic masculinity"? It fits perfectly. It's male. It's violence. It's egos. It's power. It mirrors the tribal, propensely male-dominated, violence near the start of human history. Would a Lord of the Flies with girls really be written the same way? Toxic masculinity could include violence, but it doesn't follow that all male violence would be from toxic masculinity. That would be the fallacy of the undistributed middle term. It…

It's a very short jump from there to seeing it as traits that all men have naturally/biologically I'd be a bit surprised. I think most people have positive male role-models in their life (maybe I'm just fortunate in my experiences) to know that men, just like women, run the gamut from assholes to saints. I think they would be easier if everyone stopped using what has become an irredeemably divisive and negative term. The term is hot and all over the place, for sure. But I think it is far far far to extreme to assume that toxic masculinity means that men will all just kill each other if left alone, which is what this op is trying to say the island anecdote disproves. That's the problem I have with it. I think pretty much no one (except the extreme feminists) have this view-so to pretend like we c…

Are you saying a propensity for violence is not an issue of "toxic masculinity" despite including it in your "common" definition? I think the common definition would include a propensity to violence when it comes to defending masculinity or ego or sexuality, sure. So you disagree that this is what most people would mean in taking about toxic masculinity? I don't think either of us have done surveys, so it's based on our experience, what conversations we've been a part of, etc.

Yeah, but I think you are misinterpreting my comments. To be fair, I think most people replying to me are. I am giving some kind of opposition and many immediately put me in a box as though I am in the enemy camp and try to interpret my words from there. My point is simply that a post like this from the op only disproves toxic masculinity IF toxic masculinity means that all men are toxic. Careful on the accusations on comprehension. For this entire time, I have been discussing how people use the term. The only definition that a post like this makes sense for are for extremists who hold the position that "all men are toxic" or "all masculinity is toxic." You're making me point for me. Radical feminists may believe that all men are toxic, but the term means something different to the average person. So a post like this is simply refuting a small group of people and is not very precise in it's use of language. I think it boils down to this- what does toxic masculinity mean (as understood by the average person)? -All men are toxic? -All masculinity is toxic? -Some behaviors that are culturally accepted as "masculine" are toxic? Which would you say there term means to most people?

My point is that is misconstruing what toxic masculinity means to most people. But even if we like just at the parallel to Lord of the Flies, many people view it ,as I did) as a comment on the savagery innate in humans and that rears its head when society collapses. I very much believe that there are issues for men that need to be addressed, from custody to health, etc. So I'm happy to remain part of the community. Using a case study of men surviving in an island as a general refutation against toxic masculinity only works if the idea behind toxic masculinity is that all men are toxic or that mas…

Here's my question to you. Does the term toxic masculinity mean "all men are toxic"?
/r/MensRights05/04/21 05:56 PM

Somehow, in people's mind, if one thing is associated with one sex that means that the other sex can't exhibit it at all? Like if I said "women tend to be nurturing. Not all women are, but as a whole this is a tendency among women," would your say. "Men can be nurturing so nice try." Like is homophobia some thing that they're is only 100 of and if men have it women can't? Of course not. Women can be and many are homophobic.
/r/MensRights05/04/21 05:27 PM

Yeah, that's why I said "without good evidence." Society believes it, but that doesn't make that belief true. The distinction I'm making is for society (on average) understands the term. And the point I'm making is that the term does not mean that all men are toxic or that masculinity itself is toxic.

It's like being upset that someone used the word tooth fairy or Santa clause Yeah, um these words actually do have meaning, even if the person is not real. Go tell a kid that you know Santa Clause and they'll know what you're talking about. Toxic masculinity is not a thing, in any way shape or form. Therefore, it stands to reason that we shouldn't even use such terms in actually conversation. You just be unhappy about this post then, which refers to toxic masculinity in the original op. I'm blown away by your power at reason and argumentation. But for real, if you don't want to look like a fool in an argument, you should know how terms are used and by whom. Radical feminists definitely will use toxic masculinity to mean all men are toxic (which I allude to in my post, did you read it?). But outside of that group it means something else. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxic_masculinity

I think society as a whole would probably think (without good evidence) that mostly men do, yeah. Think of the times in shows when someone called someone else a f*g or was violent against a homosexual. Was it a boy perpetrating it or a girl? I would bet that if you did a survey of times that language/behavior is used in media, probably 80% of the time it's men/boys. What is the percentage in real life? I'd bet it moves closer to even, but I don't know how much. Now movies aren't real life. But t…

I think posts like this show that many here don't have a solid understanding of what toxic masculinity means (or they are happy to build straw man arguments). Toxic masculinity doesn't mean that all men are toxic or that even masculinity itself is toxic. It means that some cultural traits associated with men are toxic (e.g. locker room jokes, homophobia, willing to violently defend ones pride). Other masculine traits are not viewed as toxic (hard work, willingness to put others first, providing …

I think there are very different reasons why I am downvoted here. That's fine, it doesn't bother me. As for feminism, I think it's a mistake to see it as a monolith. I think many who claim to be feminists are not steeped in the feminist teachings of third wave feminists and couldn't even name one. Nah, commenting more in general about using pejoratives to catagorize others. I agree completely with your answers. It's frustrating when there are so many legitimate things to feel upset about that this sub often devolves into the things that people hate most about feminism: constantly looking to interpret things as an attack on their gender.
/r/MensRights22/06/20 06:26 AM

I don't think this passes the smell test. The general rule you're promoting here, that no small interest group should speak out for their own interests, would mean that a lot of small groups would never have a voice at all, which goes directly against what the founding fathers wanted for this nation- the protection of small groups from large ones, or something James Madison referred to as "the tyranny of the majority."
/r/MensRights16/06/20 03:55 PM

So is the logic here that if a group isn't the majority of those that suffer, that it is wrong to highlight them? Let's say that there is an advocacey group that focuses on the abuse of handicap kids in foster homes. Would focusing on them be inherently wrong since handicap foster kids are in the minority when it comes to abused children? Would it suggest that only handicap foster kids matter or that they matter more than non-handicap kids?

Also, I should say that I have seen very biased and untrue or disingenuous articles out of the whole gamut, from NYT to Fox. If there are inconsistencies or strong biases that reduce the factual quality of a piece, I'm always happy to have those pointed out. That goes for all sources. I currently have subscriptions to WSJ and NYT for balance (asking with my local paper) and I think this has been a decent approach so far.

This wanders into poisoning the well territory. I'm all for multiple news stories-it's part of the reason I'm in Reddit. But I don't assume all Fox articles are biased just as I don't assume all NYT articles are biased. This particular article is pretty straight forward with no real editorial component. It's: what are people saying/demanding when they use this term, and shows a pretty broad spectrum.

No, it absolutely matters what we understand. Otherwise, how does anyone know what they are arguing for it against? Agreed. I think the meaning behind "silence = consent" is more along the lines of "all that is required for evil to win is for good men to do nothing." I think there is more nuance to the discussion that such a basic sign isn't capturing (what sign can?), but consent of sexual intercourse is a difference in kind. I think we can all agree that police brutality has gone way too far and is almost never punished and has to stop. I am 100% okay with the direction you're going here: Anecdotes are powerful in giving a face to statistics and are effective in connecting with people. /r/MensRights27/05/20 05:40 AM

There is a massive difference between the two. That is the concept at the bedrock of statistics. Let's say, for example, that I find a story of a man raping a woman, going to court, and getting away with it. These stories certainly exist with all of the billions of people in the earth. Would this story 100% prove male privilege? No, absolutely not. An anecdote doesn't prove a generalization. You're giving it a story that only the truly unsympathetic/heartless would ignore or dismiss outright. I'm reading the post headline. You can try to reframe or mischaracterize my comment all you want, but it comes down to this- finding an example of something terrible happening to a man doesn't disprove the claim of male privilege…

This logic feels like feminist logic to me. "For years there have been no women on the board of directors of large businesses, so now we need to fight to have as many all women board of directors as we can!" One of the main critiques of this sub is that Feminists aren't actually interested in equality. It looks like you aren't either, so what makes you better than them?
/r/MensRights07/04/20 04:05 PM

How is this different from women being excited about having an all-women board of directors for a company? I have seen many comments about how women don't actually want equality, they want revenge or over representation as a ridiculous attempt to even a historical score. Your comment feels the same to me. It's about "x happens to this gender all the time, so it has to start going the other way around so that they get it and that's fine by me."

But those who upvote you are not wrapped in the heat of conflict at the moment, thus my comment on it not being a good look.
/r/MensRights02/04/20 04:56 PM

The double standard, framing, and justifications are serious problems that most feminists can't see. I've argued with some that an all female board of directors isn't something to celebrate. The argument is that there are plenty of all male boards, and I say, yes. Neither are equal. Neither should be celebrated at face value. But there is always this feeling I get that it's evening the score, which is not what feminists profess. It's an interesting argument to have.

Whenever the first response to something radical/extreme is "well technically not ALLLL of them are like this" is always the most watered-down pathetic excuse of a defense that exists. When I point out that there are many schools of thought in feminism and you say that making that point is a watered-down pathetic excuse of a defense, then yes, you are painting ALL feminists a certain way. It's an implicit argument you're making by not being willing to admit that there is a difference between rad…

Wow wow wow. Your reading comprehension suuuucks. Please show me where I am having any problems calling radical feminists out on their bullshit. Wrong. What's fucking twisted is feeling like one can brazenly paint with broad strokes and capture people that exist in a continuum of thoughts and beliefs as though they all want to murder male babies. It's the type of thinking that justified murdering tens of thousands during the crusades, during ethnic cleansing in Africa, and during the Holocaust. Bzzz. Try again. Questioning why a self-described radical person's views should be painted as normal is not excusing the radical view. The view espoused by this radical feminist is abhorrent. What I'm calling into question is whether it is normal. I'm surprised you'd confuse the two.

I'd love to see some evidence showing that the view espoused by this self proclaimed radical feminist is held by a majority of feminists. I highly doubt any exists. I don't have hard numbers or any study, but just anecdotally, in interactions with feminists or even simply by looking at post proportions, this view is almost definitely in the minority, and not just a simple minority, but an extremely slim minority.

I don't know for these play out, but I would hope that they get charged with trespassing and being in possession of a fake government ID. After all, if an underage kid tries to buy alcohol with a fake ID, that is what they would get slapped with.
/r/MensRights04/07/19 03:40 AM
1

That's the point. The ones who ignore all the laws and rules and have poorly developed frontal lobes are insane (or at least stupid enough to be roughly the same as insane). So we are supposed to reason with insane kids? And we expect that to work? That doesn't make any sense. The kid is responsible for breaking the law. The club is responsible for adhering to the law, but the club goer can't depend on kids to follow the law or the club to be competent.
/r/MensRights04/07/19 03:18 AM
1

I agree with this for the most part. Kids do stupid shit. They are willing to break laws by trespassing, drinking, etc. The whole point is that they are stupid and don't understand the consequences of their actions. Asking them to consider the downstream effect of their decision to go into a club is foolish. The whole reason why there are ages behind smoking, drinking, sex, etc. is because kids' ability to understand the outcomes of these things are limited.
/r/MensRights04/07/19 12:13 AM
1

Part of the idea of age of consent is people understanding the consequences of their actions. That's the whole point. Acting like kids will suddenly get it, when their brain isn't fully developed, is kinda stupid. I don't think the twitter op understands why there is an age of consent in the first place.

Eye witness = evidence. I have provided several sources (e.g. evidence) that illustrates this. You only have your denials. No evidence. The argument was what comprises evidence. Eye witness evidence is 100% evidence. Does that mean it is irrefutable evidence? That it is proof positive? No. But it is evidence. I mean, I would say, "what do you want me to do, cite the US code?" but I already did. How thick do you have to be? How ignorant do you have to be not to accept that? Whenever someone says they didn't do well on a test just because they were stressed or tired or they say they didn't get a job because the hiring manager was playing favorites with someone else or they say that it was okay that they stole some supplies from work because they have put in a lot of overtime-these are all self serving biasses and most people exhibit them to some degree. It doesn't make them right, it's jus…

Not matriarchy, but gaining advantages. In areas where women are less advantaged, feminists want equality, but in areas where they have an advantage, they want to maintain those advantages. I see it more as a maximization of advantages than a pursuit of gender specific rule.

I don't know the rules there, but calling someone bigoted and racist is very different from the comment posted as the op here. I personally wouldn't ban someone for it, but they are clearly not the same in their tone, approach, or effect. I haven't searched through all of the comments, but maybe it was the straw that broke the camel's back? Dunno.

Are you sure that is why you are banned? Because it is not your most recent comment in that thread. This one was: I am sorry you do not understand. It seems your comment gets rather bigot. If that matters to you, I am black. You are just proving how racist you are. You are only repeating what many others think and have clearly convinced you of. Try thinking with your head a little more. Goodbye and thank you for your time

I would push back a bit on the "before we get to work." I mean, it's not like us calling out their hypocrisy will vanquish these extreme feminists. If we have to deal with them before we get started, we'll never get out of the "dealing with them" phase. I get your point on having to battle them, but maybe (if I could have my way), it would be like 20% playing defense against extreme feminists and 80% pursuing the agenda of accelerating men's rights.

I definitely could be wrong. I mean, I haven't conducted any surveys or anything, (and to be honest, that's what you'd have to do to know.) But I don't think that worrying about what others think is a bad thing. I mean, if the purpose is to cause change and if causing change means convincing others that there is a real problem with equality today (where men are at a disadvantage) then we are very much talking about what others think. Occupational hazard, maybe. I work in marketing where the poin…

Oh, sorry, didn't see it. I think this thread is an example, which is why this conversation started in the first place. A positive message that I think the general public could agree with is: if the sexes are truly equal, then men sacrificing themselves for women shouldn't be an expectation. This title of this post, on the other hand is centered on mocking a feminist position of all men being evil and good for nothing.

I never asked you to ignore feminists. And I am educating people. When new people come to this sub, I want them to see the positive message of men's rights and to jump on that train instead of seeing mostly feminism hate and being turned off.
/r/MensRights11/11/18 12:51 PM

I think this is where our miscommunication is happening. In my opinion, we are extremely unlikely to convince a hard core feminist that men's rights deserve attention. However, I believe that a meaningful improvement to men's rights lies in convincing the general public that there are issues that need to be addressed, not in winning over any feminists. I believe that an effective message to the general public is one that focuses on equality rather than being a message that defines itself by bein…

I see that having a reasonable conversation is very difficult for you. I also see that you can't help but attack others in trying to make a point. Putting the two together helps me see why the concept of arguing based on the merits of a position should be enough without a constant contrast to another position is difficult for you to accept. The title of this post: "No, no, men are evil, I swear" is meant to be a mimicking a feminist who is trying to maintain the idea that men are evil in the face of evidence that they are not. That is the disconnect for me- the fact that the content of the post had nothing to do with feminism, but the title makes feminism the focal point.

Sorry, you lost me at "caused by feminism." Let me get this straight, you believe that expecting a man to sacrifice himself for a woman is caused by feminism? So if I found texts from the early 1900's or the 1800's or the 1700's that talked about men putting themselves in danger's way to save a woman... you would argue that feminism was the root cause ...? All the way back in the 1700's? I think it's pretty obvious that these are hold over values from a previous era and that feminism is as far f…

Oh I agree that a double standard pushed by (or allowed by) feminism is at the root of many things that men have to fight for, but I disagree that the juxtaposition against feminism is required in order to get to equality. I mean the message "Fathers deserve equal custody" can stand on its own and isn't strengthened by "and damn those toxic, hypocritical feminists" appended at the end or as the focal point in the first place.

I love it! I read a bit on their website and I saw several places that included men as the victims. Awesome to see. At some point this thread will have to be renamed "We Hate Feminists," since most posts can't seem to get away from a fixation on it. I mean, rather than focus on men's issues here like how men shouldn't be expected to sacrifice their lives for women, this post is framed as a bitter reaction to feminism. I think the problem is more complex than you are thinking it is. If you are underwater on your home, selling it can be very difficult. Let's say you have a home worth 400k, but the market only values it at 350,000. Let's say you got a job offer a few hours away that has a slight pay increase for you- 5k a year. Moving to be closer by would be a smart thing to do, but you can't sell your house for more than 350k. That means that in order to try to take a better job for you and your middle class f…

At the core is supply and demand. With less housing on the market, middle income people get priced out of homes they would normally be able to afford and they have to settle for something less. This means that the people in the market for these lesser homes (or even apartments) is a bigger group of people, which means that in this lower segment of housing prices will also go up (as they have been) making it harder for low income people to afford what they would normally be able to afford. I don't think you have to look too hard. Senator Collins is pushing pro-home construction policies: " the bill would build or rehabilitate more than 3 million units over the next decade and fully close the current gap between housing demand and supply, create 1.5 million new jobs at its peak impact, bring down rents for lower-income and middle-class families by 10%." Honestly, I think this sub is pretty blatantly right wing when I see no reason for it to be. No, I wanted the original usage of the term. I'll save you the research. Job equity was first used in a court case in Canada and referred to under-represented populations. Equity, in the legal sense, means the same as equality. It has nothing to do with wealth, value, assets, or ownership. You can't import a meaning from another field and falsely attribute it to your opponent simply because it makes your position look better. That's just bad arguing.

It's a gut argument. I doubt data would back it up. I mean, sure- you have women that are terrible actors that just get a role because of their looks (Megan Fox), but this isn't limited to women only. Arnold Schwarzenegger's entire career was built off of looks and it's not uncommon to have MMA fighters (men and women) in a role simply because of their following and their fighting skill (GSP, Gina Carano, Randy Couture). I'd be interested in just raw numbers. How many prominent female roles vs h…

This comment is baffling. I hope she doesn't see everything through the lens of men vs women, that'd be a pretty dimensionless world.

Citizen Cope would beg to differ

Donald Trump is a shitty person and has done and said some remarkably shitty things. I wouldn't put this as one of them. Seems pretty innocent.

If someone is found beyond a reasonable doubt to have lied about being raped, I think two years may be light. Their victims' lives can be impacted in innumerable ways. Registered sex offender, have to move, kicked out of school, harm to reputation, affects future dating life, etc etc etc.

What does "reports" mean in this context?

This is a good point, and better than the original.

Looks like more women (or less men) are getting degrees since I studied this. However, 136-100 isn't 1/3. 36 is one third bigger than 100, but the fraction would be 136/236, which is 57 percent. That's a 14 point spread, so something else is at play. Anyway, interesting to see the change in numbers.

While there's a difference in undergrad enrollment, last time I checked, more men went to grad school than women. Either way, it's not a 2/3 to 1/3 split.

Great quote. Goes for attitudes towards immigrants, other nations, etc. Fair bet it goes for some people in this community as well.

A good reason the courts exist. Too many hot headed people who think they know everything. Like me. Didn't even read the article and I'm already passing judgement. Irony.

That idea is too nuanced for many, whether you're talking about left vs right, men vs women, or ninja turtles vs power rangers.

For all the effort to argue for fairness, this subreddit isn't always interested in being fair. Too bad, because it just makes it a mirror of femenists who this subreddit correctly identifies as not being interested in fairness either. I gave you an upvote to pull you out of the negative because if we ignore our own bias in pointing out others', then we're going to be doing nothing as a society but going in circles.

This doesn't upset me as much as other issues (custody). Women generally feel their natural faces aren't beautiful enough and put makeup on but don't expect men to do the same.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
