Women's Rights is obviously a good thing. Feminism is diametrically opposed to the equality of the genders, and not even in a way that is beneficial to women. It enforces traditional gender roles by demanding that men stand guard for women- see He for She and the Duluth Model, along with the assertions on alimony and child support. It infantalizes women and deems them incapable of being considered agents by law- see drunken consent. Feminism supports the rights of women to be treated in the same…

But it does address it. That which deserves mockery is fair game for mockery. Sarcasm, wit and humor, even mild trolling, is a good rhetorical tool to keep a layman listener engaged. Why do you think the Daily Show is so popular? Feminism will always deserve mockery- even if individual feminists may not, the ideology was always and shall always remain absurd.

White men are, more often than not, targeted for misandry and racism due to our whiteness. How often do you see feminists giggling about "black trans male tears"? Being white is to be a target of discrimination that is regularly minimized by "privilege" theory. Black males are discriminated against in the prison system. Gay males were, until very recently, discriminated against by law and continue to be discriminated against by conservatives and the religious in general. All men are discriminate…

You can't win. I have tried the "so, you are saying that I am different due to the color of my skin?" approach. It doesnt work, they dodge it, call you a racist or misogynist, and/or try to silence you. Edit- if you do call her on it, ask her the following- But what is the argument being made? Does she believe that men are inferior and dont deserve to be considered victims, or does she believe that men are inherently superior and therefore can't be both superior and victimized at the same time?

Feminism has this technique of "deconstructing" or "unpacking" random pieces of information through the "lens of feminist scholarship". This is basically the same sort of confirmation bias creationists use to claim that the dinosaurs died in the flood and a volcanic explosion blasted live kangaroos to the remote austrailian continent. Things along this line include- missiles and rockets are patriarchy because they look like penises (because fuck aerodynamics) Principia is actually a guide to rap…

False. Feminism necessarily includes ideological concepts such as patriarchy, culture hypothesies and privilege hypothesies. An egalitarian doesnt necessarily subscribe to those assumptions.

"Christians believe in happiness for everyone. If you believe in sharing happiness, you are a Christian." This serves to demonstrate why an ideology cannot be defined by its values but must be defined by its core beliefs.

Evidence would be nice. As it turns out, evidence tends to directly contradict the claims and predictions of the patriarchy hypothesis. This is why, relatively recently as data has been gathered, the concept of patriarchy has become increasingly more nebulous. It is very much like a religion, when the claims are objectively disproven it switches to "oppression of the gaps" and "the patriarchy works in mysterious ways".

If the couple is two males, they will both be arrested because males are aggressors. If the couple is two females, they will arrest the nearest male for causing the dispute through spread of toxic masculinity. If there is no male within a mile radius, a male officer will arrest himself. If the officer is female, she will be required to shake a fist at the sky and growl "PATRIARCHY!"

The dictionary definition is lacking, I find. It describes the goal and values of feminism but neglects the means and functional ideology. A similarly flawed definition for "Christian" might be "one who believes in sharing everlasting happiness" neglecting the core ideology- namely that happiness is found in Heaven, which is attained by following the word of the bible and loving their deity. Feminism was founded on the hypothesis that men have always held women down and controlled all of human i…

Feminism is definied by its core ideological beliefs- Patriarchy being the root of all feminist ideology. Culture and privilege hypotheses have taken hold recently. If you dont believe in patriarchy, you are not a feminist.

I think feminism is too great a tool to not be used in this way. Of course they have an aim- to end rape. Unfortunately they are convinced that kissing while drunk is sexual violence, and sexual violence is sexual assault, and sexual assault is rape. And using this metric they know that one in three women will be raped in her lifetime, and that questioning an alleged victim proves it is true, and the very act of questioning is like rape and enforces a culture of rape, and that consent is retroac…

Hysterias absolutely hold a purpose. What distracts the proletariat better than a good old riot or threat of extermination? The hysterical crowd may not have a real aim, but those who set the trajectory do. There are few things more powerful than a stirred up mob of idiots. As mentioned above, the idea is to make the claim itself evidence by inventing new definitions of rape and terrorizing the public into assuming they have been or will be raped. That causes the hysteria that pushes the movemen…

Feminism is a tool of capitalism. Women entering the job market is not a bad thing, do not confuse that. How that was implemented, however, was. With more people entering the job market, this shifts the market in the favor of the ones hiring- they have a wider selection and their employees become more disposable when there is a larger pool of applicants. Using a doubled income household as an excuse, large companies found excuses to drop the value of labor and the number of hours available. Now …

This is a big problem. Feminism, like any ideology, needs to be defined by its core beliefs, not its core values. Feminism is centered on female oppression and patriarchy theory. Likewise, evangelicals may desire supreme happiness for everyone thhrough god and heaven, but they can not be defined as "those who desire happiness for everyone" as that desire is not exclusive to them. The defining characteristic is adherence to the claims of the bible, not what they believe the result of that action …

Nope. Feminism is not a rights movement, it is an ideology. Do you believe that there is a group or pervasive mindset known as "Patriarchy" that dictates the rules of society and controls humanity? If you care about women's rights, you support women's rights. If you care about men's rights, you support men's rights. If you believe that men, by default, more powerful and privileged than women and get special powers due to their gender, THEN you are a feminist.

I think it's kind of like McCarthyism. They['re saying "I'm not anti-feminist, but..." because they've been taught that equality IS feminism. So it would be like saying "I'm not Anti-American, but..." The idea of feminism as the line of socially acceptable is so pervasive, people are afraid to speak against it even when they see egregious errors.

Well, is she being a bitch about it? Is it "I'm capable of doing this", or is it "I don't need your help, you cis shitlord!" ? If she believes that the gender roles for both males AND females are stupid, she might be closer to MRA than you think. The trouble with feminism is that it IGNORES male suffering and obligation, while removing the obligations from females. If she is saying "Hey, you don't have to do that just because you're expected to because penis, let me help", that's a good thing.
/r/MensRights28/08/14 01:02 PM

So, step 1- Assume that men are troglodytes incapable of respect or understanding consent. Step 2- Define consent as only relating to females. Especially if alcohol is involved. Step 2.5 -Make consent retroactive Step 2.99 -Call kissing sex step 3- Put out a survey to figure out how many women have "sex" without "consent" and then, fuck it, fudge the results a few times anyway.

I agree. It could be used to provide evidence for a rape claim, but it would also be easy to falsify evidence using these. I think the kneejerk feminist reaction is out of fear over their monopoly on rape hysteria. If there is a way to obtain more clear evidence of malicious intent, then it will make rape cases much less murky and therefore take away their boogeyman of "2/1 women will be raped. Twice. Because Patriarchy".

That's the thing, though- Even though rape has gone down an incredible amount since 1970, (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/peter-diamandis/evidence-of-abundance-6-r_b_5630907.html) , Feminism relies on fear and manipulation. Since rape is down, rather than find another issue, feminism has begun to change the definition of rape itself. Now, if you're female and have had any alcohol, you can not consent to sex. If you have sex while drunk, you've been raped. Furthermore, there is a trend towards con…

Men are almost half, and yet that number is ignored. How is that better? Plus, men are much more likely to be killed in general. So while a female may have a slightly higher chance of being a victim of domestic violence, men have a MUCH higher chance of just being shot in the head out of the blue. Though, if I were female, I would have many more options as far as clothing is concerned. I consider myself honest and hardworking. I like to feel competent. While it is true that, legally, women are able to work the system much more easily, I consider such things abhorrent and don't consider that an "advantage for myself" as I wouldn't use it.

Feminism is an ideology- It is very similar to a religion. Women's Rights, Men's Rights, Civil rights, Gay Rights- Those are RIGHTS MOVEMENTS. They do not claim a particular worldview, they are concerned with rights. When you start making claims about the nature of reality, especially if those claims are unfalsifiable, then you start becoming an ideology, which is inherently no longer anything but an ideology.

How is someone lying about a crime a traditional gender role? I don't see the connection. Also, false rape accusations DO happen. The actual number of false accusations is difficult to determine, but it is also irrelevant to our argument. Reducing due process uniquely for rape will increase the likelyhood of false rape claims (A higher chance of success and a reduced chance of legal reprecussion). While true, most of us are egalitarian. This kind of thing SHOULD BE a feminism issue. I find it rather anti-feminist given the context that instead of trying to fix problems where women actually HAVE problems, western feminism, in practice, tries to ban and censor random words or ideas or soak government aid.
/r/MensRights06/07/14 12:50 PM

Feminists wanted to ban the word "Bossy" because they believe it makes little girls feel SO BAD that they don't want to become leaders or take on responsibilities. To prove this, they had millionaire women who were called bossy as children explain how being called bossy as a little girl makes it impossible for you to become a millionaire as a woman. I don't think they thought it all the way through.

lul. I like the part where they're like "WHAT DO THEY MEAN THE STANDARD OF EVIDENCE OF RAPE IS TOO LOW?" followed by "HOW COULD YOU BE SKEPTICAL OF SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE RAPED?!" - They clearly don't understand how a claim can not be evidence for itself.
/r/MensRights06/07/14 03:13 AM

Irrelevant. Whether they actually care does not matter, and whether or not we actually care does not matter. All that matters is the fact. Males die much more often from suicide, and females attempt suicide more often. Neither is good. And when we look objectively, it's pretty clear that death is more harmful to people than not-death.

Right- Let the best be the best, regardless of their gender. If it turns out that very few women are skilled or strong enough to compete with men, so be it. Or, likewise, if women dominate a particular sport, so be it. That is reality, and that is fair. What is unfair is barring people from showing their true potential in favor of "equal representation".

This can not be emphasized enough. The MENS Rights Movement is for the rights of men. It is for the "male" part of a gay man's identity, not the "gay" part of a gay man's identity. How are you with logic, by the way? Can you determine when a fallacy is being used? If so, speak up when you see one. And this is true everywhere - Not just against feminism, but in things MRAs say as well. Logic ensures intellectual honesty, so it must be used to temper all arguments, friendly or otherwise.

Several of those laws relate to animal welfare- How to humanely butcher an animal, for example- Really quite revolutionary for the Bronze Age. But you wouldn't consider Judaism to BE Animal Rights. It includes animal rights, but also a whole bunch of stuff that is irrelevant to Animal Rights. Likewise, Feminism includes women's …

Because it is an ideology, not a rights movement. It is the same way Judaism is not Animal Rights, even though it included some relatively revolutionary animal rights, for the bronze age. Judaism includes much more than animal welfare, such as belief in a specific deity and prophets. Likewise, Feminism believes in much more than the rights of women, such as Patriarchy as a model of the world, and various "Cultures" and "Privilege" theories. Each of these require faith to believe.

We do not have a philosophy. We are a rights movement. We believe in the advancement of rights. Most of us are egalitarian, which means we also support women's rights, gay rights and so on. Men's rights is one of those facets. It is also notable that feminism is NOT women's rights. It is an ideology which claims to include women's rights as a platform. Your wording of "theology" is apt, as Feminism includes Patriarchy theory which is a faith-based belief. The MRM is not an ideology and therefore…

Right now, we have an anecdote which many people here seem to have experienced. You claim to have an anecdote for the female experience, but you're not being clear on whether or not it is actually the same in that family of the male informed the female that she was being scrutinized. Scrutiny is not the same as mild hostility. Neither of us have concrete proof, but you haven't even provided a proper anecdote.

More like every SIX seconds, amirite?! But seriously, I'm asexual. I think about sex once every three months or so, and it usually goes like this- "If I liked a girl enough, would I be willing to have sex with her?" "..." "Probably."
/r/MensRights23/06/14 11:49 PM

It's relevant because if they didn't, you no longer have an anecdote. The argument isn't that families judge prospective partners of their children, but that they outright state this to males as a form of mild intimidation.

...Wow. You're not the strongest reader, are you? I never said that. It IS, however, the core belief of CATHOLICISM. That's what differentiates catholicism from the rest of Christianity. Do you or do you not understand that I am arguing that Feminism has core beliefs, which are not any particular right or rights movement, but in Patriarchy, and that this is what must be judged when determining the merit of Feminism?
/r/MensRights17/06/14 08:38 PM
2

You're missing the point. Catholocism SHOULDN'T be judged by the billions of followers with possibly billions of ideas. It should be based on the CORE BELIEFS, which is in the belief in Jesus as the Messiah and the Pope as an infallible representative of God. THAT is what must be examined before all else. Feminism's core belief is gendered oppression by Patriarchy. It is an irrational belief.
/r/MensRights17/06/14 08:01 PM
3

There are two answers- One is to examine literally every belief a feminist could have, as the faith is diluted enough to encompass just about everything. There are pro-life feminists. Did you know that? Is that part of feminism, or is it a value that is secondary to feminism? What about trans inclusive and trans exclusive? The other way is to consider the "base definition" of the organization, which is, as mentioned, belief in gendered oppression through "Patriarchy". I do not believe this, ther…

While true, I think it may go deeper for feminists- The perspective is that of "object" for all things- That patriarchy must exist because some men ARE POWERFUL, not the rational argument that men DO OPPRESS, or that men ARE RAPISTS because they are male, rather than some men DOING RAPE. Which would make gendered things make sense, such as job placement because BEING a SCIENTIST isn't about DOING SCIENCE it is about BEING a SCIENTIST, so when it's mostly males it's clearly because men just ARE S…

I think there's something to that. Feminism seems focused on "Being." To feminists, it's like they have to BE an engineer, while to us it's to DO ENGINEERING that defines an engineer. This seems evident in their "rape culture" thing, where women are acted upon. Women, at any point in reproduction, have legal options. While both men and women have contraceptive choices, once a woman is pregnant, a man as no say at all in whether or not he becomes a parent. A woman can "opt out" of pregnancy by abortion, and a woman has the right to surrender her child in adoption or safe haven dropoff. A man has no legal option to opt out of pregnancy, so if a woman decides to have a child, the father is legally responsible. Basically, women have legal ways out of pregn…

You must be kind of dim. That women can wear what they want is not the point. The point is that men can NOT wear what they want. If a man wants to wear a skirt or dress, that is not considered acceptable. A woman has the option of pants, dress, skirt and a huge range of styles of tops and shoes. A man has, essentially, pants of varying fabrics and slight variation to the neck of his shirt. Men are much less free to express themselves in bodily decoration, at least on a social level.
/r/MensRights14/06/14 02:56 AM

Feminism is pretty much concerned with gaining privileges for women and very little else. The right to vote without being signed up for forced conscription? Granted. The right to reproductive choice without any responsibility? Granted. The ability to be seen as automatically more fit as a parent in a court of law? Granted. The freedom to wear just about any kind of clothing in nearly any situation? Granted. Know which sex doesn't have those rights or privileges? Go ahead and take two guesses.

Yes, we have a small number of people here who are extremists. The difference, however, is of scale. That is the breakdown we are having. SOME feminists are decent, but MANY (as shown by hundreds actively and illegally attempting to silence a peaceful gathering) are "extremists". This demonstrates that the "Bad PR extremism" of feminism you are talking about isn't really the extremism of feminism- It's actually quite normal to the group.

Feminism just sort of pushed forward, despite being idiotic at every turn. Even against the terrible phantom of "Patriarchy" looming for thousands of years, Feminism has made "leaps and bounds" of progress. How can an oppressed class, by refusing to compromise, "come so far" by petitioning the oppressor? Kind of implies that either not compromising works, that the oppressor never existed in the first place, or both.

We are not Masculinists, we are men's rights advocates. The Men's Rights Movement is a rights movement, not an ideological movement like feminism. Likewise, Feminism is not Women's Rights, but an ideology which claims to support women's rights.

That's the trap- It's such a vague term, you get to slap your own interpretation on there and assume that everyone is understanding it the same way. Let's take another example- "American". Especially during McCarthyism. Everyone thinks they know what it is, but it's also easy to just sort of make a claim that you're not if you don't agree with X. So it goes with privilege. If you have a car as a teenager, your parents must have bought it for you so privilege. Unless you bought it yourself by wor…

I agree that men and women both have battles to fight. I posit that most MRAs would agree. The trouble is that "Feminism" is not "Women's Rights". Feminism is an ideology that claims to support women's rights. We are not an ideology like feminism, we are a rights movement like women's rights. I find it a shame that we need to make the distinction out loud that feminism does not equal female.

I don't think that's the case, really. Why else would we try to protect "women and children" in just about every society? It's not because they are less important- It's because they are more important as they are the limiting factor in reproduction. If a bunch of children die, your next generation is weak. If a bunch of women die, your next generation is small. If a bunch of men die, well, you just need a handful to do their part in propagation. That is why men fought in wars and dealt with the …

It is doubtful that there has been subjugation of women- Since the dawn of time, it has been a trade between males and females. Males did the dangerous shit and often died, and females did the less dangerous shit and were less likely to die. This was important because females are the limiting factor in reproduction. There is some evidence that had we started egalitarian, we may have died out due to a lesser ability to procreate and increase our numbers and therefore odds of survival. That said, …

You said yourself that you don't know what it is we fight for. How is that "more than I think"? What else am I to believe based on your statement? "Equal treatment in court, both family and criminal" is an MRA issue. "How to pick up chicks at a bar" is not. That's a very simple distinction, and to not understand the difference shows a huge amount of ignorance.

This one actually has a good point, though. You clearly didn't do any research or have any knowledge of men's rights or men's issues before you came here. It is a little off to claim that you care when you don't care enough to put five seconds into google to figure out what MRA fights for. On that note, why should we work to "understand" feminists when you, a supposedly friendlier-than-average feminist, can't be bothered to even know of our basic issues? Female? There are plenty of females here.…

To respond to why I find #yesallwomen offensive- First, it is a mutation of the #notallmen meme, which feminists used to mock men who dared make the claim that you are making- That "not all men" are the violent psychopaths feminism seems to make them out to be. The hashtag is a passive aggressive abuse of men, implying that men are almost always victimizers, and women are almost always victims. Second, men are just as often victims of domestic violence, with most violence being mutual in relatio…

/r/MensRights29/05/14 03:43 AM

Take away the business and the government can do its job unhindered. Yes, if you could afford it. Meanwhile, common people were treated like replaceable parts that needed occasional upkeep, and could be easily replaced. Child labor laws were nonexistent, pay was practically nil, hour were extreme, and the work was more dangerous than ever.
/r/MensRights28/05/14 12:47 AM
1

Not true. You grow business power by not limiting it. Without minimum wage regulations, what do you think they will pay? Without human rights regulations and safety regulations, how much do you think they will spend to keep workers safe? Even WITH those regulations, many companies barely give a fuck, and that's only to prevent being fined. That was an insult, as it was "gilded" or "edged" with gold, but held no real value. It was a shit time for everyone who wasn't rich.
/r/MensRights28/05/14 12:20 AM
1

They do that FOR the businesses. Reducing government power without reducing business power puts us back into the times just after the industrial revolution- Very few regulations, even harder shafting of the workforce.
/r/MensRights28/05/14 12:07 AM

As do businesses. How about a reduction of power rather than redirecting it to different, equally disinterested small groups of individuals? Besides, the government is functionally controlled by business interests.

Yes, and men are still expected to sign up for military conscription, support his progeny even if they were produced by his rape, financially support a female in a relationship even after the relationship ends, so on and so forth. The remnants linger, but they do not expressly benefit men. I would also argue that not only do they not benefit men, but they are much more damaging to men as they often equate to a much higher risk of death or injury.
/r/MensRights27/05/14 06:48 AM

So if a woman has the agency of a child- Her actions, by default as a female, do not matter because they are inconsequential and should be treated with the same respect as a child, what is the proper conclusion?

So, women have far more options than men and yet STILL need advancing? To what? This is an archaic tradition from a time in which gender disparity was essential to our survival. Along with the perk of being the head of the family, the male was also expected, as head of the family, to do the hard labor and fight in any wars. It wasn't a matter of males simply owning things- It was a trade. Property rights for risk of life and limb, and it was a consensual trade. /r/MensRights27/05/14 12:17 AM

Right, and that is narcissism but not misogyny. If an insane person hates the world because men don't give him money, does that mean he hates men? No, it means he's insane and entitled.
/r/MensRights26/05/14 08:49 PM

He blamed the WORLD for that, not just women. Men for being undeserving, women for being shallow, and as a result, he killed people of both genders. He was a misanthrope. The narrative that so many people hate women and this is just one who went further than the rest is EXACTLY what feminism is doing that is so infuriating.
/r/MensRights26/05/14 08:43 PM

What I dislike about it is how someone murdered four men and two women and now it's a WOMENS ISSUE BECAUSE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. They're taking this tragedy and using it for attention. So let's say that I ONLY like asian women- They're all I seek to date and I'll only fap to asian porn. Now do I hate asians a little? How far into "liking them too much" do I have to go to get to hate?
/r/MensRights26/05/14 04:58 PM
2

So, if I prefer asian women because I find the shape of their eyes and their skin color aesthetically appealing, that means I hate asians a little bit? So, hating men for the belief that they are all stupid meatsacks isn't misandric? Cool story.
/r/MensRights26/05/14 04:55 PM
1

In that it is also possible that he didn't hate women but desired them in a way which was unhealthy. An unhealthy reverence or fetishization. And also because they were Asian. And also because men weren't "civilized" enough, because he was the "supreme gentleman". All other men are brutes. If that's not misandry, what is?
/r/MensRights26/05/14 04:39 PM
2

And he also hated men. And also murdered more men than women. So, he's a misogynist in the same way he is a misandrist. Yes to both. And also, it's not entirely clear, from what I've seen at least, that he thought women were objects- He thought he was entitled to women, true, but that seems to stem from a wanting of companionship. He claimed he was lonely, not that he needed to own a woman.
/r/MensRights26/05/14 04:25 PM

That's misanthropy. He hated the men, too. He hated everyone involved.

So, once again, a feminist literally believes that females are children. Got it. Edit- Also, I'm not very big nor very strong. Do I get a pass to fight back if a woman attacks me, or is the running theory that my penis is capable of providing me with Popeye-esque super-strength when needed?

Yes, it is a verbal or implied contract.
/r/MensRights26/05/14 03:02 PM

Because here's the thing- It's their choice. It's not a baby's choice to get the tip of his dick cut. If an adult male wants to do it because he believes it has health benefits or for religious reasons, whatever. Same deal. Why would anyone get tattoos or piercings? People change their bodies in accordance to what they want to look like and what they feel like. It's not that complicated.

/r/MensRights22/05/14 02:28 AM

I meant from a feminist perspective. Apparently it is, though. The only reason I can think of for this is so that women have the right to decide when any consensual sex act is rape- If you're drunk and nobody cares? It's rape but nobody gets in trouble. If you're drunk and you realize later that it was a mistake? You were raped and can take legal action. It's a method of farming options for the future- You can continue like normal, AND have the choice of getting vengeance if you want.
/r/MensRights21/05/14 03:22 PM

Still not tit for tat. That's what makes feminism so stupid. "We feel like men oppressed us in the past, so let's oppress them harder now!" - It doesn't go anywhere good.

Feminists typically agree with this- They BOTH raped each other because consent! Ok, so every couple who has wine with dinner is a rapist? To each other? And that's alright because they don't mind after the fact that they were each raped? Then what is the point of it being rape if it doesn't matter legally or ethically? Is rape really that meaningless?
/r/MensRights21/05/14 12:04 PM

TLDR: "By making assumptions based on intuition and guesswork, you can surmise that most men who claim hardship are villains who will hurt you."
/r/MensRights19/05/14 08:08 AM

Why do feminists insist on treating women like toddlers? Replace "women" with "toddlers" and you get the same thing. "Well, when a toddler hits a man, it's not strong enough to do any harm. It probably just didn't get what it wanted and is throwing a tantrum. Don't take it seriously", so on and so forth

/r/MensRights18/05/14 08:50 PM
4

Exactly. That's why I fucking hate feminism. I respect women as equals, but when I hear the people who are supposed to support women's rights shouting about how women are incapable of making decisions, can't hold their liquor, are irresponsible with money and risk assessment, and deserve the legal treatment of a child- How is this progress?

I was, in fact, talking about the organization known as Feminism. You're moving the goalpost all over the place. And so does feminism. Feminism also has core tenets that, to be defined as a feminist, you must posses. If someone called themselves Christian but held none of the core beliefs of a Christian, you wouldn't actually consider them a Christian.
/r/MensRights18/05/14 05:51 PM

There are some Christians who show dogmatism and others that don't. So Christianity isn't a religion? The specific members and their actions has very little to do with the organization as a whole.

You certainly can sue for rumors started by an individual if it is demonstrated to be harmful to your reputation. You can sue for defamation, and have a very solid case if the military court found you innocent (thereby proving under a court of law that the claims about you are false). On another note, I don't think the military should have its own court system. Not only does it sound easily corruptible, but the whole point of law in America is "jury of your peers"- Which begs the question, why a…

There doesn't need to be a "culture" for a thing to be a problem, nor for there to be a need for rights, support and recognition.
/r/MensRights17/05/14 10:26 PM

Another thing to consider is that in our society, if someone is harmed, someone else typically gains something from it. For example, "beneficial sexism" does benefit one party by shielding it from scrutiny or granting it extra rights or advantages, but it then harms another party by giving it a disadvantage in that area by contrast, or by not allowing certain rights. Let's look at affirmative action- If women get higher preference in hiring due to policy, this is "benevolent sexism" for women. B…

Along with the "Extremists mess it up", the basic principles of feminism are also kind of silly if you think about it. There's a faith-based belief in unfalsifiable entities such as Patriarchy and various Cultures and Privileges. So... what's the point of rape, then, if people just sort of do it and it's not a legal, moral or ethical issue? What's the point of redefining it to just about any non-enthusiastic sexual ecounter, and some enthusiastic sexual encounters, if there is nothing wrong with doing it?

If the issue is gendered clothing, by all means. I don't give a fuck if you're a dude and want to wear a skirt or dress or whatever. I know some guys who probably SHOULD be wearing bras. There is no "kind of". Did you, or did you not, willingly have sex with her? Did you say no and refuse sex, but were forced into it through coercion or force? If you consent, no.

Consistency is key. This sounds, to be perfectly honest, like feminist drivel. If you consent to sex, you don't get to call it rape later because you regret it. On another note, it seems you are hiding behind "religious beliefs" for something more personal. I don't know of any religions that support casual sex but not relationships. My primary reason is that Feminism is anti-reason. It is dogmatic almost to the point of being religious. Not only does it ignore empirical evidence and basic logic, but it often fights to destroy those things in discourse and education. See the response to Rape Myths, in which the biggest point the feminists attempt to make is that the arguments rely too heavily on empirical evidence. I'll let that sink in- To a feminist, facts are not important. What? This is beyond the core tenets of Feminism…

I prefer the quicker to the point version, based on a true story. I was offered sex by a girl who was very drunk. I was also very drunk. If I had done it, who would have raped who? I disagree with anything that includes "My subjective experience is X, therefore Y is true about reality"- What males experience personally is irrelevant. What is relevant is solid, verifiable, scientific facts. Males die more often in the workforce. This is a fact, and a problem. No. Please no. This is one of the biggest problems of feminism- taking offense at every god damned thing and making mountains out of molehills. Someone said it earlier, but I can't seem to find it now. It's a critical distinction, though- Feminism is not women's rights. Feminism is inherently poisonous. I'll say it again- Feminism believes that women are useless. Unless you throw money at them, or pay people to help them, they are entirely incapable of making any kind of lifestyle choice. Be it consensual intercourse, determining a career path, personal interests- Whatever. Feminism asserts that women are incapable and need to be dragged on a leash.
/r/MensRights10/04/14 04:42 PM

Not if you're MRA. That's the whole premise. Otherwise, what's the point aside from white-knighting? To try and get there by proxy? And what will the result be if that reasoning is listened to? Clearly we don't want WOMEN dying. Let's keep the status quo where it is- Men dying, women making less money. Sounds good, right?
/r/MensRights10/04/14 04:39 PM

The fallacy comes in when you try to use that to discredit the idea. Once again, we should not promote women avoiding these fields because women are precious, delicate flowers and men are made to be disposable. That is the attitude we're trying to erase. We need to stay consistent with that, not pull a Feminism and only use it when it's convenient.
/r/MensRights10/04/14 03:55 PM

And the inverse is that men doing it and dying- the current status quo, is acceptable, natural and right. "Don't get women into higher paying jobs because they are physically dangerous! Let men do those and die!" The whole point of the MRA movement is to STOP that thought process.

And the conclusion implies that women doing so is a bad thing. The bad thing is that feminism demands the good without the bad, the privilege without the responsibility. Also, another huge factor is hours worked. These studies show ANNUAL pay not HOURLY pay. With maternity leave and pregnancy, women are more likely to take more time away from work. Even then, men are more likely to work overtime. So a female doctor who works 45 hours a week is going to earn less over the course of a year than a male doctor who works 60 hours a week, even if their contracts are the same.

We do, when relevant. We are typically and egalitarian movement, but again- This is not the LGBTQ movement, and the two are not mutually exclusive. But let me ask this- Why join the Klan when you just like to dress up as a ghost? Just because you belong to a group does not mean that feminism is the ONE GROUP. There are many ways to support the LGBTQ community that does not also buy into the toxic junk found in Feminism. What you have here is a false dichotomy.

I love the "If you're a woman and have sex while drunk, you've been raped. If you're a man and have sex while drunk, you done raped" thing. Why do feminists assume that men always have agency and women are almost always objects?
/r/MensRights08/04/14 09:26 PM

The simplest answer is that we don't have a specific policy for the LGBTQ community. It's not relevant to the issues at hand. Likewise, we don't have a policy about race. We focus on the rights of men, which we feel are currently underrepresented at best, and at worst, poisoned by counterproductive approaches at equality like Feminism. Whether you're gay or straight, all we are here to do is fight for male issues like the high suicide rate, unfair legal treatment, unfair media and social represe…

There is neither, just an upper class that likes to fuck everyone at once. Here's a hint- Fighting over race and gender forces us to NOT focus on the ones who are really giving us a good screwing. I'm moderately convinced that the Bourgeoisie know this and intentionally stir the pot, to keep us fighting each other.

The thing is, though- He knows his demographic. He's not there to change the minds of the people he calls stupid, he's there to put on a show for other people who think creationists and feminists are stupid. And he does very well at that. Edit- Like in the video, he missed a few huge points- Namely in his first bit- Sometimes a false rape accusation can be made when the person accused didn't have sex at all. So... there's a way an individual may know the other persons experience better.

I agree. I believe in a new system which is similar to Communism, but is an antithesis to capitalism. Namely, I would prefer a world which has abolished money. Work and be rewarded by sharing the work of others. Functionally, that's what wealth does. It represents time and value of work, which you can spend on the time and value of the work of others. What it also does is support crime (as money is anoynmous and represents value, this includes value in unethical practices, illegal goods, things …

False. I'm a Communist and support the MRA movement because gender equality is important. Equality in general is important. I find feminism sexist, and I believe our oppression comes largely from the Bourgeoisie using wealth to control law for personal interest. The working class is ALWAYS fucked by the upper class, and feminism saying that it is the fault of gender rather than economic standing is the most supreme stupidity.

That was part of the trade. It is an outdated system.

This is feminism in a nutshell. A woman makes choices. Feminism observes women making choices. Feminism decides that the choices that women make are actually the fault of men. Feminism attempts to make laws to punish men for the choices women made. Women continue to make those choices because that's what they were doing before. Feminism calls it a culture. Rinse and repeat.

Doublethink. It's not new. This is literally Orwellian shit they're operating under.

I love the whole "privilege" doublethink they have going on. "Privilege is invisible! If you deny it, you probably have it! It's invisible!" Is immediately followed up with "I don't have any privilege, because I can't see it!"

So, the laws of physics are sexist. You're going to need more than the federal government to take down THAT oppressive, patriarchal force.

If it's a feminist trying to demonize us, to break them. You know all the idiotic assumptions made? Hearing directly from the source that it isn't true should, if the person is any kind of decent human being, give them pause and possibly even change their mind.

That was a joke, referencing the anti-male "teach men not to rape" campaign.

Good luck with that. You will never get a straight answer on any question, only a deep pit of self-reference. When you finally dig to the bottom and say "Wait, your proof is your own claim?", you will be immediately be bombarded with ad hominem and appeal to force attacks.

Because feminism makes women into objects- They lose their ability to make decisions and lose their agency at the drop of a hat. I don't believe women are objects. That's why I side with the MRA.
/r/MensRights31/03/14 04:02 PM

One thing to note- I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that almost everyone will say "yes" to should women get equal pay. This is a huge misconception about the MRA. We don't think women should make less. We think that they DON'T make less.

That took an immediate Christian-like turn. "Well, it's pretty clear that sexism affects both men and women. Therefore, feminism!" I've seen the same thing with Christians debating. "Quantum theory is flawed in several aspects. Therefore, our loving savior Jesus Christ!"

It's pretty gross. It generalizes both women and men into simple beings, that men are only interested in sex (with young women) and implies that women are only interested in playing with men. It seems to be projection of his desire to be a "player" and cruelly manipulate women as well. While there ARE men like that, and there ARE women like that, to generalize the entire world to be that is shortsighted. I'm asexual, for example. My motivations in attracting a mate are not "fuck the pretty ones"…

This is written brutally. It looks like a 6th grade writing assignment. "And then the men were bad to women. And women were sad because its not nice to be mean to them."

Women can be sluts. Not all women are sluts. Not all sluts are women. A slut is someone who likes to fuck, and who either doesn't really care who it's with, or holds no emotional attachment to the people he or she is doing it with. I find this behavior gross. Women never "ask for it". However, intoxication (barring being unknowingly drugged) is not an excuse to retroactively withdraw consent. If you consent to sex while you're drunk and regret it (or forget you consented) in the morning- Tough. …

Not if you're a feminist. That's why we're NOT feminists. Feminism is primarily concerned with gaining rights for women, while saddling the obligations that come with those rights onto men.

Because feminism has used an old mind control technique. Basically, they have used rhetoric and equivocation to imply that they ARE the things they claim to fight for. And they are including everything into their movement. Feminism IS women. Feminism IS race. Feminism IS sexuality. If you disagree with feminism, then you hate women. You're a racist. You're homophobic. It doesn't matter which part of feminism you're disagreeing with, because feminism has established itself as synonymous with all …

One of the more telling lines of gender relations is "She never saw it coming"- She spent a quarter hour verbally and physically assaulting another person and didn't expect any kind of response? What does this say about what is expected of men and what is acceptable by women?
/r/MensRights18/03/14 02:34 PM

It should also be noted that the right to vote was tied to the obligation to be drafted for military service. The rights men had were tied to legal and social obligations, and when women gained those rights they were NOT also given the burdens that men had to deal with. THAT is where the inequality comes from.

The idea of patriarchy is absolutely absurd. It's unfalsifiable and based entirely on a failure to understand correlation and causation. A lot of the rich people are white males? THAT must be the CAUSE! It's because they're white and male! Well, when you think about it, aren't teachers more likely to be female? And what is more important to a persons ethics and behavior than their education? Who is teaching these rich white dudes to be so evil with their power if not their teachers, who train th…

For the most part, the same things men deal with- stereotyping and genuine sexism, which are both social things. There is no doubt that these things do sometimes occur. This said, it happens to literally EVERYONE, regardless of race or gender. I'm white, and I used to work with an all-black staff. Several of the black people there were very ignorant about race, and were genuinely shocked that I ate both chicken AND pork. I'm not sure what they assumed about the diet of white people, but racial i…
