It only works if the woman is so unbelievably attractive that she knows that she's at least an 8. There are very few women where this is true - primarily only models and other women who "look good for a living" would fall into this category.

Neg - "Nah, negging is only recommended for 8s or higher." This is called "being an asshole", and is not recommended. "Oh no, I wouldn't neg a girl like you...(let her be intrigued then build)" This is the better response.

Iam sorry but who the hell are you to say what pickup entails? What makes you the authority? Was there a vote or something? The OP asked why seddit didn't discuss these tactics more. I am saying that's because there's a tradition in the Pickup community to view such tactics as ethically wrong and therefore not something to promote. I am in agreement that these tactics are not ethically justifiable, but that's almost beside the point. The question is why these tactics aren't promoted, and I gave …

Dude, he has a car that turns into a giant killer robot. I think that's enough DHVing to get most women.

And you could say those exact same words and it would crash and burn with Paris Hilton. The point Strauss was making with that example was to show how "inner game" and confidence made the words themselves irrelevant, not that Papa had uncovered some magic words to get laid. Anyways, there's a big difference between using a canned routine and convincing a woman that you want something exclusive with her when you don't.

Yes, I didn't mean to imply that men are somehow 'enhancing' women by having sex with them. The line "better than you found her" just basically means that you need to be considerate of their feelings and recognize that sex is about two people, not one. A good one-night stand will leave both partners better than they were the night before. It doesn't mean you have to help her reach enlightenment or some shit.

Obviously, lying to a woman "Yes, I love you, and want to be with you forever" to get her into bed is not "non-consensual" in the legal sense (ie: it's not rape). But it's morally unethical and can create lasting emotional harm for her. Don't do it.
/r/seduction28/12/12 07:57 PM

lol wut. Even if I accept your premise that most people in this community want sex and not a relationship, this still doesn't mean that you have to be dishonest and manipulative. In fact, Neil Strauss devotes a large part of The Game to explaining why, precisely, it's both a moral and tactical mistake to build up false expectations with women. Women, just like men, are often looking for casual sex / one night stands. But you have to be open with them about this, instead of leading them on.

please explain to me how complementing the shit out of a girl That's not what you said. You said "convincing them they were the only one they wanted". This just sets up a mismatch of expectations that leads to emotional damage down the road. Complimenting the shit out of a girl is a perfectly valid thing to do. Creating a false expectation of monogamy and exclusivity is not.

Because it's inherently deceptive. The 'community' has always been big on the principle of 'leave a woman better than you found her'. EDIT: Because apparently I need to clarify this further, I'm referring specifically to this part: Ive seen tons of guys get girls by convincing them they were the only one they wanted.... as they said the same thing to 3 other girls. This is what's deceptive. Simply being a compliment machine is not deceptive. Convincing a girl that you want more than what you act…

Like I said, I'm just making you aware they exist. You obviously have a right to your body. You're asking "why does X stigma exist?". But that's irrelevant. Let's assume that it's completely illogical and backwards-thinking: but it still exists. The why is irrelevant when it comes to attraction; you won't be sitting down with women and explaining philosophically why cosmetic surgery is no different than cutting your hair. And since this subreddit exists for men to attract women, not for people t…

Some women are definitely paranoid, of course. But the examples I gave are things that friends of mine have done when guys have been obviously 'running game'/'sarging'. Why do they do it? Because it's a fun / forceful way to reject someone. Is it a nice thing to do? No, but after the fourth or fifth newbie PUA who takes "no thanks, not interested" as a "shit test" or "IOD" rather than flat-out rejection and attempts to "kino", "escalate", and "amplify", patience can wear thin.
/r/seduction28/12/12 04:57 AM

Well you're apparently a transhumanist so no wonder you're A-OK with lots of surgery. Just be aware that there are stigmas associated with these things. Not saying they're right, just saying they exist.
/r/seduction28/12/12 04:45 AM

It's just a social stigma. Tell a girl you started grooming better and they'll say "ok, sounds good", but tell a girl you had dental work, and their first thought will be "how bad were your teeth"? If you don't tell them, they won't know.

Wow, a little harsh, Gretch. No need to be rude. In my observations - and these are entirely unscientific anecdotes, obviously - plenty of women are on balance annoyed by men hitting on them. Not all women want to be hit on by all men; in fact, most women most of the time don't want to get hit on by most men. The flip side of this is that plenty of women will complain about being single, but plenty will not. Anyways, perhaps I was a bit glib when dealing with the original question. falshami aske…

It's not about having one Skyrim poster, it's about looking like you only have one interest - video games. One skyrim poster by itself doesn't hurt; it's when you have a skyrim poster, a WoW poster, a Legend of Zelda t-shirt and a rat's nest of wires on your floor.
/r/seduction27/12/12 08:18 PM
5

What are you implying?
/r/seduction27/12/12 08:09 PM

One of the biggest obstacles for men trying to be attractive is in getting women to actually pay attention to them as a person, and not just as a 'category'. For instance, you can be a hardcore gamer without wearing a Legend of Zelda T-shirt and having Skyrim posters in your apartment. You want to appear as though you have a complex personality, not a simple, easily-stereotyped one. Easily-stereotyped personalities are dismissed out-of-hand.

An example of a good neg is something like: "You're cute, but you're not my type." It's a neg in the sense that no girl likes being told that they're not someone's type, but it's not derogatory in the slightest.
/r/seduction27/12/12 06:31 PM

That one actually doesn't work in my experience - it just encourages guys to get very handsy, which is what these women are hoping to avoid.

An actual neg comes across as organic and is almost completely inoffensive. 99% of people who think they know how to neg are actually just randomly insulting women in bars.

I have female friends who actually read PUA literature and stuff, so it's always funny to watch them get hit on by guys who are obviously 'sarging' or what have you. Ways to fuck w/ guys who are trying to hit on you: Say "I have a boyfriend", and when they say something corny like "I'm sorry" or "me too", act really confused, like you don't understand the joke. Ask them to explain it. Takes all the wind out of their sails. In general, asking someone to explain their joke is the easiest way to de…

I feel like I agree with you, but all I'm saying is that sometimes, escalating is not the right move. Your response is to write that off as poor calibration, which is fine - but I'm saying the statement "escalating has never lead to a negative consequence" is flat-out incorrect. If you mean to say "escalating when appropriate has never lead to a negative consequence", then... no shit.
/r/seduction19/12/12 05:25 PM
1

Same thing still applies. If a girl is tepid initially, escalation that's too fast can be a very negative thing. Escalation might be fine in a number's game if you're looking to find someone DTF as quickly as possible, but for any particular woman it might not be the right strategy at any given point.
/r/seduction19/12/12 05:01 PM
7

Please explain the difference to me then. I just read a thread where a guy texted a girl with plans for a date, she didn't respond, and his follow-up text was to ask her to spend the night. That's escalation in my book.
/r/seduction19/12/12 04:06 PM

No problem - and honestly, good luck! Everyone is bound to fuck up; the important thing is to learn from your failures.
/r/seduction19/12/12 04:03 PM

Escalating has NEVER lead to a negative consequence Sorry, this is simply not true. For instance, you text a girl you met to see if she wants to get dinner - and she responds with a non-committal "i dunno" or "maybe". The answer is NOT to escalate. It's to drop it entirely. Escalating is fine in some situations, but it comes across as incredibly needy in others.

Lets play a game and go through your Field Report and list all the signs that she wasn't interested, and what you did wrong each step of the way. You had to put in a lot of work to get her as your date to the ball. You were probably her backup option, no? She didn't respond to your first text. You should have dropped it there; instead, you not only sent her another text, but you escalated it by mentioning her staying the night. She responds with a cold "maybe". Your response is to attempt to neg…

From your post history, it looks like you're a college student. Ask her on a quick date - just say "do you want to grab coffee?" and leave it at that. Unless she's socially retarded, she'll know it's a date.

When exactly do you stop wanting someone who is confident, reliable, honest or self assured? I think the point is that no one is confident 100% of the time, or honest 100% of the time; being like that would be inhuman and weird. Most people on /r/seduction have a deficit of confidence, so we say to be 'more confident'. But it's not like overconfidence and autism-level honesty aren't themselves negative traits.

With shy girls, it's best to do this kind of thing in a 1-on-1 setting. The shyer a girl is, the more they like to 'see it coming', which is why announcing your attention works with shy girls. So in that vein, I would try to hang out with her one-on-one in a quiet setting - maybe invite her over to watch a movie or something.
/r/seduction03/12/12 02:35 AM
2

The problem is that this essentially comes out to you spending your "what do you want?" on "let me go on a date with you", which comes off as a little needy.
/r/seduction03/12/12 02:34 AM
2

To expand on this - it does three things: It effectively gets you to go on a date, without you having to act as though the date itself is some sort of 'reward'. It puts the onus on the girl to impress you - women will consider this a challenge and take it seriously. You start at her place, which is good because it makes her comfortable and very conducive for eventual sex.

In general, drinking games where there's a lot of people doing stuff at once are good for building sexual energy. "Dare or dare" just sounds like a flimsy excuse for a good time - if a girl says yes to playing that game, it means that they're already pretty receptive to more overt sexual advances.
/r/seduction03/12/12 12:13 AM
5

It's her way of saying "not interested" without having to cite a specific reason. It can mean pretty much anything - your personalities didn't click (aka 'chemistry'), she didn't find you physically attractive, she found another guy she was more interested in, she doesn't think you're relationship material, etc...
/r/seduction03/12/12 12:11 AM

In my experience, shy foreign girls are the group most receptive to you simply saying "I really liked kissing you last time - I'm going to kiss you again". And then you go and do it.

OK SO: The turban is both an advantage and a disadvantage. It's an advantage because it makes you stand out and look unique - no one is going to miss you in a crowd. It's a disadvantage because there are some women who will pigeonhole you, be turned off by your beard, or otherwise be uninterested in someone who wears a turban and sports a long beard. The most important thing for you is to not let yourself fall into a stereotype. Punjabis love dancing around in a circle full of Punjabis. That's t…

But how is your view on trimming it, or shave whats on your chin bone? They have a beard and turban specifically because you're not supposed to shave/trim/cut your hair.

She probably knows, or assumes, that you're interested. Women get confused and 'friend zone' men when men spend a long period of time emotionally bonding with women without making any gestures of physical affection. But if you just invite a girl out on a date, she'll generally treat it as such.

First off - I love that you've done a masters thesis on this topic. Second - I only kinda agree with what you've stated here. I agree that many women are awful at actually giving advice on how to approach a woman. But that's not the only function of a wingman (or wingwoman). One important function of a wingman is to provide 'social proof' (as the PUA community calls it) and to hype up his friend. He also can help engage other members of the group and make it 'not awkward' for the approacher. Wom…

I don't think this is related to cold weather - I think this is due to social pressure to have a boyfriend for the Christmas/New Years/Valentines Day season.

Shake his hand, if it's that kind of setting, and introduce yourself. Who knows - they could end up winging for you or setting you up with a mutual friend. But stop hitting on his girlfriend - no one likes that shit.

you're not going to have any wing-girls Agreed, but you should work on getting one or two. When I go out with my friends to a bar, my girlfriend often acts as a wing-girl for some of my friends. In my experience, wing-women are the most powerful tool in a guy's arsenal.
