Because before I moved to NYC, I was in hookup mode, escalating quickly and would bring girls home (not all the time.) However, now that I accomplished my goal of living in NYC. Being able to understand concepts like the difference between top line and bottom line revenue is key when listening to executives speak. HOWEVER, I absolutely hated finance and excel sheets.
