Unfortunately yes based on the majority of this comment section. It pisses me off tbh, I like laughing at people who are clearly in the wrong and make themselves look bad online, but Reddit seems to be incapable of hosting anything even mildly negative without it going off the deep end within a couple of years

I mean yeah obviously they'd be upset if the president was someone whose views they didn't agree with...they're not saying the next president has to be any woman, pick a random one off the street nothing but gender matters, they're saying that on top of the other things expected of a president that they like, they should also be a woman. As someone who's obese myself (but working on it, currently cooling down after a run!) I hate it when fat people try to normalise their weight like it's not a risk to their lives. I also don't think people realise what obese people look like either - My waist is probably about half hers and I'm still obese. I'm also 6'1", and I remember at one point last year I mentioned to my flatmate that I needed to lose some weight and she looked at me weirdly and said "Really?"

I honestly don't think there should ever be a case where being a certain gender is an advantage but not a requirement for a particular job posting. That's just me though and clearly a few people disagree.

There are times when you can legitimately make the case that the gender of a worker matters. Hiring a waitress at hooters is one example, certain medical professionals is another (for when a patient requests a doctor/nurse of a particular gender). If you think that it really matters, then go for it and advertise for the person you need! You just need to be able to prove that gender is actually an issue.

I've seen plenty of people in hospitality with beards. Maybe it's a regional thing? But yeah if we're talking un-maintained beards that's just generally looking scruffy. It's the beard equivalent of showing up to an interview in a shirt with a stain on it.
