Ngl my partner and I exchange the first one when we're driving around. Both of us have pretty decently high n counts so we have a few zany stories tied to locations around the towns we're from.

What of nonbinary people that identify as a "third" gender, rather than fluid between man and woman? I can get what you mean with the bisexual conundrum there, but for a heterosexual person, wouldn't they be able to remain heterosexual in their attraction to a gender that isn't their own?

I agree with a woman in a pantsuit not being nonbinary, she's a woman after all, clothing doesn't decide that. transwomen want to exclude themselves from cis-women when they are already INCLUSIVE because they are "women" in the first place As for inclusion and exclusion, that sounds more like a personal taste over required response. Trans people wanting to be treated differently would of course stand out, since the alternative is intentionally not standing out. I will say, this post was about pe…

I appreciate the explanation. I totally stumbled on this sub so I'll default to your take. Will probably keep lurking just to see how another culture operates.

Ig I'll have to wait for it to become a significant factor to pose this question again. I'm still interested in the hypothetical tho!

So... you're assuming something without looking into it to confirm? And you want me to believe you?

I'm sorta left with two options to this: Arguing that size doesn't matter; Isn't this subreddit a microminority as well? Returning to the original question with a qualifier; how does that small group affect the dating experience when involved?

10-20% is a pretty sizable group, especially as being open with those identities gets less and less stigmatized. I wanna hear the takes, rather than the cope to ignore it.

That's why I'm here at the purple one :)

Wouldn't that be making an assumption? Like I don't wanna debate you like some smarmy asshole, you're just describing why I ask for sources.

I'd exclude them for the same reason I'd exclude asexual people or incels. This is a subreddit about exploring theories about dating (right...?), so the people discussed would have to want to date at least a part of that community in the first place.

Honestly hadn't thought about that. I'm newer to the terminology so I wanted to see if nonbinary people had been in the debate much. Can't say I'm surprised that they haven't much, it's a bit messy to try to fit in a new pill lol Maybe Yellow?

True true. I was surprised to see how many comments were along the lines of "we don't have anything." Kinda left me worried about how intense dating in a heterosphere must be.

That's actually a really interesting thought to flip. I've never thought about the inherent attraction of not having to explain myself to someone. Creates another factor in how I look for possible relationships.

In my experience, it's reduced my quantity, but increased my quality. I'd love to see a study done on the rate of dates vs. relationships in relation. Definitely may be a geographical thing, tho.

Sad stuff. Hopefully, there'll be a shift in that in the coming years. The trans people I know rock, would hate for people to miss out on them.

My thought on this is that I could point at any number of men and women with mental illnesses, but that doesn't discount that there are plenty of people who are ready for relationships. Should women not date men because men are more likely to die from suicide? Also I wanna know what identity issue would be solved through less individuality, but that's just my sick obsession with hearing the cutting edge of pleads for me to fit in the identities others understand. Show Me The Cope.

I wanna see where people come from when they cite psych stuff. I'm majoring in neuroscience and half of the lower division courses was learning what is discredited nowadays.

True true, just wanted to skip the whole "no it isn't yes it is" stage. That's not something I'm interested in in this situation

I'm thinking more about what that means for the outlook, since a population that doesn't fit would mean the pills aren't complete.

I'm hoping to see more on this topic as the population increases. Ik that where I come from there is a significant population in college that approach dating super differently, I'm just not aware enough to talk well about why. Edit: sorry about that posting... However many times it did. App was freaking out.

The quickest, dirtiest explanation that won't invite a debate I don't wanna have about gender is someone who is intentially abandoning the idea of adhering to a single gender role. I'll put my own example out there, hopefully not just to be mocked, of occasionally wearing dresses and/or breast forms (fake tits) without changing my identity itself. This is super super super simplistic to the point of fallacy, (Of course just wearing a dress sometimes doesn't make you non-binary), but this post is…

True that. I wonder if, when they succeed in making women pay for dates, they'd talk about a wage gap to justify it... Wait...

I haven't met a woman that demanded I paid for them. My partner and I were even joking about buying each other's meals during a date. No need to respond with the same entitlement... Unless you're into someone wiggling their wallet in your face, in which case you do you. Finding someone that's down with that would be a really fun meetcute.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
