I’m not sure what point that proves. The U.S. women’s soccer team is one of the best female teams in the world, they competed in their sport against a team of mostly 14 year olds and got nearly crushed. This. Supergirl and Designated Survivor come to mind as shows that started innocuous but simply became obsessed with politics. That’s not the point. People haven’t cared about female leads for decades (see Ripley, Lara Croft, Sarah Connor, etc), it’s when the character is sacrificed for the sake of her being a woman. I’m not saying having a female lead is a message in and of itself, I’m saying to have that and add social messaging on top of it puts viewers off, and critics suggest those put off are responding to the female leads, which they’re not.

You don't need to be MGTOW to know you shouldn't have a relationship with a woman who rebounds with an alcoholic, marries them and divorces within a few months.
