No problem mate. I know Sorbonne is well known overseas (it has a long history). I'm also appalled. BTW, she's also a member of the city council and she got another guy from the council fired because he was friend with a writer who likes to write pedophilia. I mean, sure, the writer in question is a degenerate. But last time I checked being friend with an awful or even a criminal does not make you guilty by association...

France Sorbonne is not the best school in France. Best schools in France are Polytechnique (Engineering), Ecole Normale Superieur (Humanities/Science) and Haute Etudes Commerciales (Business). Dauphine (Economics) is also pretty good. Sorbonne is among the best schools in Humanities, but still below Ecole Normale Superieur. Sadly, Humanities in France are riddled with nepotism and ideologists. A plague that Natural Sciences suffer as well, but to a lesser extent (harder to bullshit than in Human…

It's not loneliness, it's solitude. Loneliness is a sadness deriving from isolation. Solitude is a state of being alone, often willfully.

I work with and know women who are competent in computer science and mathematics, so I know there are women who would be able to do the same. Just not many. On that note, I don't believe many men could do it either. I agree with what TheMarvelousSchmuck said, I don't think the original "joke" here is that no woman can do this, but that your typical internet feminists are unlikely to solve this, not even with tools. I don't know if it's true, I rarely go to feminists exchange boards so I don't kn…

Why would "plugging it into the internet", by which I assume you mean using a online symbolic calculator, be an invalid or incomplete answer ? I solved it without the internet strictly speaking, but I did used a symbolic library. Being capable of properly using available tools is a skill, especially if this considerably speeds up your work. There's a reason why programmers joke about their most important skill as "being good at googling errors". What would you prefer : a plumber who unclog your …

Many among them lie, just to get stuff cheaper or even for free...

You're not stuck. Not anymore. You're free. And best of all, you're young. You have plenty of time to work on your career, on your passions. Now you can focus on yourself. Find passions, hobbies. Sports are pretty good for that, it makes you feel better, improves your health, liberates stress and pent up emotions. It doesn't have to be lifting, personally I prefer climbing. Education and skills are important, learn a trade, one you like and one that actually can bring you money. Once you have th…

These women are telling me: “I need to believe there are men who would protect me. I need a Knight.” I believe we need to call forward the NOBLE MEN to surround, protect, and serve women. To step up as warriors and stand for us. Otherwise the women are fighting their own fight. Well, welcome to equality. A Noble Man is a Knight archetype who’s in check of his sexual impulses and has no other agenda than to protect and serve the well-being of the tribe. Warriors in tribes defend it because they r…

Nah. When it comes to sexbots, feminists will soon learn what is the most powerful force in this world: money. Feminists thrive only because capitalism is all too happy to get those women as new customers and employees. When sexbots gets realistic enough to attract the average customer, there will be so much money to be made that no feminism activism will be able to stop the economy.

Doesn't matter, the paper in arXiv, an open academic repository https://arxiv.org/pdf/1703.04184.pdf I have nothing but contempt for the academic "publishment", an environment polluted by politics, in which editors charge absurd fees, usually payed by our taxes, to publish research that was also funded by our taxes. In other words, they successfully manage to make us pay what we already payed. I cannot wait for the day they fall in oblivion once arXiv and libgen will have rendered them obsolete.

Turns out there is an analytical formula : 135*arccosh(3)/16 - 101*sqrt(2)/8 ≈ -2.981266944005... Kudos to JustJustin121, who had the correct substitution. Once you do x=y+3/2, a symbolic calculus library (SAGE, SymPy, etc.) can easily compute the integral.

True. While I agree on a lot of the core philosophy regarding independence and following your own interests, the sheer amount of hate on this sub makes it hard to identify or defend it. Don't hate other people, because of their gender, belief or any other reason. Hate is a waste of time and energy. If people hate you, just shrug it off. Focus on what drives you.

80% of first time marriages are successful. Russian roulette give you 83% chance of survival. And yet, playing it is still a rather bad idea. Plus, you don't need to marry to be in a relationship.

If I'm reading correctly, the article says that 9% claimed to have been harassed, and 34% have witnessed ambiguous action. I can't find where the article says that 75% of the staff has been harassed. And actually, they tried to interrogate 30k people, but only 3k answered, so not even 10% of their staff is interested in talking about harassment...

understand the need to pick and choose your battles, resist when necessary, but swallow your pride Guy is smart. I like that. Here's a lesson, people. Pick your battles carefully, stay rational and focused. Don't let pride or feelings obscure your judgment. I was sent an article on a newsfeed talking about "men are backing down from marriage". Some comment mentionned "MGTOW", I had no idea what it was, so I googed it, and here am I. Otherwise, I've been going my own way for a few years. My dad worked in marital affairs when I was a kid. He knew all the fucked up ways you can get screwed in marriage, and warned me about them. At that point, I knew marriage would never be for me. After that, I thought for a long time about parenthood and realized tha…
