The very next sentence: "Of couples providing follow-up data, 23 (68%) of the 34 sexually open couples and 32 (82%) of the 39 sexually exclusive couples were still together. Of the 23 couples who were sexually open in 1978, two couples had changed from a contract of sexual openness to one of sexual exclusivity; of the 32 couples originally exclusive, one couple changed in the interim to a sexually open marriage." It's only statistically insignificant if you consider a 14% difference to be. Stati…

" This is false. The follow-up study years later showed 68% of the CNM marriages were intact vs. 82% of the sexually exclusive ones. 14% is statistically significant. This is a direct quote from the article “In 1983 no statistically significant difference in marital stability was found” Also “Both higher education for women and outside work for women were associated with marital instability, irrespective of group.” That’s from your own link on the same page. The masses of unwed men with no prosp…

As fascinating as your article on attachment styles was, it is still speculators. It does not equate to brain scans. It essentially amounts to one psychologist's opinion. Here is another psychologist's opinion, one who has treated non-monogamous couples, most of whom divorced: https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/magnetic-partners/201307/the-slippery-slope-open-marriage?amp. But it doesnt say anything besides needing to follow rules/ boundaries. That’s true for all relationships. Here’s anoth…

Source for 92% of open marriages failing: From your link “It was surprisingly difficult to find statistics on whether open marriages work. Ironically, open marriage isn't something we talk about all that openly. Some research suggests that open marriage has a 92 percent failure rate. “ Hardly conclusive lol. Even the author admits she cant find much. I tried looking as well and couldnt find anything definitive. Further, your latest data may vindicate that monogamy is not everyone's goal - I whol…

The highest percentage of men who have self-reported infidelity (I thought self-reporting was problematic? It's not for the purposes of your own confirmation biases, I suppose?) per your source is 28%. This is well within the confines of the up to 40% of men who have one or more copies of the RS 334 allele that makes them less well-suited for successful monogamous pair-bonding, so not sure exactly what your objection is here. Your 40% is still for men who are already within long term relationshi…

Thank you! I got to read them and yeah all of your studies are about men who are already pair bonded. How does that provide conclusions about men overall? This is called confirmation bias. You’re using studies about men who are actively in long term monogamous relationships to try and make the point that these men are neuro typical. There’s also the fact that people cheat even when pair bonded https://ifstudies.org/blog/who-cheats-more-the-demographics-of-cheating-in-america https://ifstudies.or…

Twin studies are normatively used as a proxy to determine the percentage of a behaviour that can be attributed to heritability vis-a-vis environment. I dont have an issue with it being twins. The sample size are all Swedish and already in long term relationships. There are a total of four studies within this thread (with the other three being under the automod) that link sexual monogamy to oxytocin, vasopressin and genes in men. You will not accept any of them for the absurd reason that the men …

In a relationship doesnt have to be married ”A team led by Hasse Walum of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, sequenced the AVPR1a gene in about 500 pairs of adult same-sex Swedish twins, all of them married or cohabiting for at least 5 years, and their partners.” That’s tough to say because the questions are subjective and based on perception. That’s fair but shouldnt a sample size be reflective of the overall population. This is 500 same sex Swedish twins. Not exactly the world’s po…

A couple issues 1) It’s only talkin about men in relationships 2) It uses questionnaires / self reporting 3) The sample size is small

I’m sorry I dont see anything that supports that claim Just a couple of studies talkin about a gene that may possibly say if a guy is more monogamous.

Do you have any sources for the claim we’re made to fall in love with people we have sex with? Men were made to spread their seed so that seems like a direct contradiction

/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/21 01:08 AM

Just going to the gym and getting a great bod will have women interested
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 02:15 PM

Nah You don’t have to be an objectively attractive guy to be attractive to a particular person. Personality, status, big dick , money , body can all raise your overall attractiveness even if you take below average pics
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/21 01:14 PM

You keep mentioning “altering appearance” and “artificial” I’ve provided several examples of other things you deem acceptable that would apply to. You’re being hypocritical.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 04:03 PM
1

Bullshit I’m singling them out. There’s a huge distinction between grooming and using artificial products to temporarily alter your appearance in order to lie about how attractive you are Yet you can’t articulate that difference lol
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 03:59 PM
2

Who said anything about hair gel? That counts as artificial but getting a haircut doesn’t. Okay so we’re getting somewhere. No hair gel. What separates a haircut? What’s naturally about man made machines altering our hair? And makeup actually changes your appearance whereas lotion doesn’t. That’s the difference and honestly it’s not too hard to delineate There are people with skin conditions that use specialized lotions to change it’s appearance. Using your logic they should just leave their ski…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 03:47 PM
1

You’re still arbitrarily deciding what’s considered “artificial”. What makes lotion or hair gel anymore natural than makeup? How is styling your hair in a way that’s different from what it looks like when you wake up in the morning any different than makeup? Both involve either covering up flaws or straight up changing your appearance through the held of unnatural products
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 02:35 PM
5

It's not at all arbitrary. Using lotion to improve your skin isn't lying about your skin just like going on a diet isn't lying about being fat. Eating less food is natural Putting man made products on your skin isnt (according to you). Getting a haircut works with your natural hair but there is nothing natural about putting on makeup. There is nothing natural about fake eyelashes or contouring to make your features look different than they actually do. How is gettin your hair cut / styled to loo…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 01:37 PM
9

But people use artificial chemicals on their hair too. You seem to be drawing arbitrary lines on what’s acceptable. What about skin care products? Some people naturally have bad skin but use artificial products to improve it.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 12:08 PM
9

Why is basic grooming ok tho? It changes the style of your hair. Even cutting it goes away from how you look naturally.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 12:00 PM
9

Do you think grooming your hair is “lying” since you’re “altering your natural look”?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/21 11:56 AM
1

This is the best explanation I’ve seen
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/21 02:45 AM
11

That’s the thing Some people will pretend to be interested to get what they want. That’s where logic comes in. Gotta recognize if someone only shows you affection or gives attention when it’s convenient for them. Passion is cool but basing your relationship on just that is why the divorce rates are so high.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/21 03:39 AM

It’s supposed to be both If you only go by “feel” you as a woman you’ll get constantly pumped and dumped. If you only go by “feel” as a man you’ll get used for free meals and dates.

The halo effect is a real phenomena Attractive people are universally treated better. There are still going to be assholes who are jealous, mean, creeps, etc but regular people deal with them too.

Not even trying to be rude but your “problems” sound lovely compared to what most men deal with. I can’t speak on the women’s problems but they dont sound all that different from what normal women go through.

I think the opposite Hot people / above average people underestimate how difficult it is for the rest of us. I grew up with a super hot friend of mine (typical Chad) and witnessed girls going out of their way to be flirty with him. I even had another friend that was pretty much given a love note from a girl that wanted to fuck. A female friend of mine saw a pic of me with my Chad friend and wanted his #. These type of men live in a completely different world from regular people.

Of you isolate all other variables, and black people are still treated differently, then that proves it's because of their race. Im not talking about one black person im talking about averages. Do you even know how statistics work That’s your own words. The study does not isolate all other variables. Feel free to argue against your own words or admit the study doesnt provide evidence for racism.

Harder to see the car at night too Point here is that they didn’t actually control for all variables And my overall point is that scientific 100% conclusive studies on human interactions / behaviors are practically impossible to find. It’s unethical to test for every possible variable so you won’t find it. That’s why studies about mistreatment will always be limited or nonexistent.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/21 09:05 PM
1

I don’t see any mention of controlling for variables outside of comparing pre/post sunset. Are the black people driving worse cars? (Poorer people could be discriminated against more) Are the black people committing more traffic violations?

Racism IS the diffent treatment of people of a certain ethnicity. Based on race. The studies don't prove why people are racist. But they do prove that racism exists They don’t prove that the differences are based on racism
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/21 05:47 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/21 05:20 PM

Do you think racism is fake? There aren’t any studies that can prove people are doing things due to racist thoughts (since we cant actually read minds…). You’re being intentionally obtuse and I can’t figure out why

Women dont want abusive men (well healthy women at least). They’re just willing to overlook abusive behavior if the guy is hot enough. Average-below average men will do the same. Difference is those hot women wont even look in their direction while the hot men will still pump and dump the women.

I literally had a girl blurt out “it’s small😕” when she saw mine for the first time. She wasn’t a shitty person and immediately apologized but the damage had been done. There are other women that you can just see all of the excitement leave their face once they see your dick. You can tell they’re thinking “that’s it?”
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/21 02:26 PM
12

If an entire group of people are saying the same thing you dont think there’s any validity to it? You are dismissing these experiences. You sound like the type that “doesn’t see color” if a friend tries to tell you about discrimination they face. Willful ignorance isnt a good thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/21 02:24 PM

I’m sorry you want peer reviewed studies on womens’ reactions to seeing small dicks? I could show you plenty of evidence that women want above average - big dicks. But it sounds like you want to just dismiss an entire group of men’s experiences. Imagine telling any discriminated group that their personal experiences arent valid.

The entitled whiny part is because this sub is full of incels / wanna be RP men. Sounds like you’re surrounded by above average men if they have no issues with sex. But as far as your friend, do you not see how that could be confusing for him? You were essentially acting like his gf minus the sex. I’m not going to get into that whole hypersexual masculine man thing because it suspiciously sounds like shaming women for wanting attractive men, which I don’t get down on. No shaming. Just speaking how things are and how men have have to adapt to it. So if they connect with a woman who I assume they find attractive, their mind heads to romance. With women, we don’t automatically assume romance because we don’t have an issue with getting our emotional needs met. It’s just how we are with friend…

As a man this is spot on But OP is referring more to orbiters who cant get sex and who want to get into relationships. Part of it also is that a lot of guys start off blue pill and looking for relationships but you quickly learn that women will overlook you for the hyper sexualized men. They’re considered more masculine so you’re either forced to adapt or you become a constantly friendzoned orbiter.

No I mean they’ve done this with men who you wouldn’t call a “literal genuine friend” Stuff like this can be a coin flip for the guy because he doesn’t want to come off as rapey or creepy. On one hand we’re supposed to go for it. On the other hand we’re not supposed to sexualize every situation.

You’d be surprised A lot of dudes get friend zoned to the point where a girl will dress around him without thinkin twice. I wasnt there so I dunno how obvious your signs were but it can be confusing as a man. Some women are flirtatious but dont actually want us and act offended if we make a move.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/21 06:28 PM

Women have a lack of success as well. Remember that they want the top 20% so having their fill of unattractive neckbeards doesnt mean anything to them. Same way a lot of incels always turn down whales or ugly women. The reality is as long as you’re average-above average as a guy you can get into a relationship with someone your level or higher easier than a woman can find someone on her level or higher. Women are more desperate to settle.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/21 06:12 PM
4

Completely disagree Society puts more pressure on women to be in relationships and the reality is higher n count is less valuable for women but more valuable for men. Women who remain single are thought of as riding the CC while a man gets applauded as a bachelor when he’s successful while single. Also marriage and kids are placed on women instead of men. They feel obligated to carry on this tradition so they’re at a disadvantage compared to men who dont care nearly as much.

If someone can cheated once as a teenager I wouldnt care. most people are naive, desperate and inexperienced, so what they're okay with and arne't is irrelevant in determining redflags You come off as incredibly insecure. N count is irrelevant.

I’d made my point several times over and provided citations when you requested it. You’ve sat there and deflected without anything to counter my evidence. If I had to put a number I’d say 60%. Here is my reasoning We’ll operate under the premise that these 5 things are the most important factors for women. We’re also gonna operate under the premise that a man will have moderate experience since we agree an inexperienced man will almost always struggle with women. Height, body, sexual prowess, pe…

I’m not saying that you need to have a big dick to get play. I’m not saying that 100% of your success is attributed to your dick. I’m saying you hit the genetic lottery in that regard so success with women is easier for you. Your perspective on what it takes to get women is skewed because of this. You wont even acknowledge how lucky you are.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/21 03:39 PM

Start dieting and hit the gym. It will change your life as it has so so many others. Been there done that. Already linked you to a study showing dick size is just as important as height. I’m honestly one of the best as giving head too. It will give you more opportunities to be exposed to single women who may like you, therefore more opportunities at sex. If you suck the first time it’s okay because she gives you more leniency to try again. Try again and be attentive to her needs you build experience. I think this approach can work if you’re young. Once you’re into adulthood women dont really show leniency for men that arent experienced sexually. Experience doesn’t need to come with a lot of women, just a lot of sex. But it’s d…

The answer to that, OP, is because men have a rapey mentality. Why do you think men pay for “consent” (prostitutes) and women don’t? Because women have dicks throw at them the moment they hit puberty. Women instead take payments (dates, bills paid) for consent. Rape culture is the problem. /r/PurplePillDebate06/06/21 01:21 AM

A completely naive guy will likely be even worse because he has no idea what he’s doing. I agree that porn teaches a lot of wrong stuff about sex but a guy that watches porn can still be a great lover. It comes down to if he’s willing to listen and learn. No different than the naive guy. Imo ego is a bigger problem. Too many guys think they know how to please a woman and dont respond to feedback from her. Also a lot of women feed their partner’s ego by pretending to enjoy it.

It's not "shaming" to expect someone to put in more than 0 effort. It's "shaming" to assume that as a result of lack of success you can assume that no effort was put in... If you are depressed one of the symptoms is lack of motivation which is directly related to neurotransmitters the same ones that would allow one to become more attractive to women. I’m not questioning a depressed person’s lack of motivation. So if you think that you can't just "get over" depression then you must also concede that you cannot just "put effort in and become attractive". Discipline and motivation are 2 different things. You should look into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. If your mind…

So then you should know exactly how important neurotransmitters are in motivation and energy..your comment seems awfully close to "just get over your depression" No one is saying “get over” anything. You can be depressed all you want but you were asking some questions that I provided answers to. At the end of the day the world is gonna keep spinning whether or not you decide to put in effort. The problem is you want “motivation” when you need to learn discipline. Depression and mental illness in…

What if the reason is largely genetic? Your genetics determine your ceiling and your floor. Your work ethic determines which one you’ll reach. Even the ability to put meaningful effort into this is largely genetic (related to levels of testosterone and dopamine which are extremely low in socially isolated people due to a neutransmitter release called tachykinine) Yeah, sorry that’s not a good excuse. Low testosterone and dopamine levels don’t mean you have an excuse to not put in effort to impro…

If you’re unattractive to 99% of women then you need to work on yourself to become more attractive

I spent my first 2 comments explaining exactly what I meant. For some reason it’s not sticking. It takes more than just being young to be attractive unless the man is a pedo or w/e the term is for a guy attracted to only teens.

What's your point? Women “become” beautiful. Very few are just naturally beautiful. Most men must become. Are you suggesting that exceptions are the rule? I haven't dismissed the effort. I’ll specify that I’m referring to the US. Social mobility isnt that great here. The people with money tend to come from money. And saying that women don’t “become” is dismissing that effort. The original premise is pretending men work hard for their attraction while women just wake up with theirs.

I dont mean to imply that one shouldnt have standards or deal breakers. I just think a lot of women take it too far. Go check out FDS. They openly promote constantly giving the guy shitty tests throughout the relationship looking for one wrong thing. They have a toxic mindset that the man needs to be a unicorn while they offer...? It’s no different than how some incels will only want to date unicorn women and they insult any woman that is flawed. If more people were open to the idea that we are …

I’m not just referring to just make up. I’m assuming you’ve dated a woman before so I’m sure you’ve noticed they spend so much in hair/ skin products, clothes, ect. Women in general put a lot of effort into looking good. A lot of them also have to watch that they eat and work out to maintain good bodies. The theory doesn’t hold up when when plenty of men are born into good situations. height, money, status dont always require “becoming”. Likewise the dismissal of how how much effort women puts i…

A couple issues with your initial theory 1) It’s very possible to be born into money and status. 2) Women usually work just as hard to be beautiful. Some are natural beauties but as a whole women put in a shit ton of effort to be attractive.

Everyone draws hard lines on their ideal list as well My main point is that if you have a list for your ideal partner but every single item is mandatory then you’re being unrealistic.

It’s not just about women admiring you. Other men too. They care that you are respected. Not everything is about PickMeishas and Golddiggers.

Well in Disney everything is perfect and easy. You find the right partner who loves everything about you and you love everything about them. Reality is finding someone you’re mostly compatible with who’s pros outweighs their cons. Y’all push each other to grow and become better people vs already thinking the other person is “ideal”.

I think the idea of an “ideal” relationship is Disney bs. Relationships take effort and communication from both sides to work. Odds are you aren’t gonna find someone that is perfect in every way. Her list is fine if it’s her ideal list. But if she refuses to give a guy a chance if he’s missing one thing from that list then she is being unreasonable imo.

Why are those traits considered attractive? Why is a muscular man considered attractive but not a muscular woman? My point is that it is rooted in traditional gender norms, so the attraction to muscles goes hand in hand with attraction to dominance and volatility. You keep trying to lump the negative traits with the positive ones. It’s a sign of health, strength, testosterone, and perseverance. All traits that would make a man more suitable as a father in the past. Nothing to do with volatility.…
