Here we go Monogamy (/məˈnɒɡəmi/ mə-NOG-ə-mee) is a form of dyadic relationship in which an individual has only one partner during their lifetime alternately, only one partner at any one time (serial monogamy)—as compared to non-monogamy (e.g., polygamy or polyamory).

What are you talking about??? LMAO Your statement is not a fact. Do you know the definition of monogamy?

Most humans are not monogamous. Bold statement here Based on the failure rate of non-monogamous relationships(and the state of various places like r/polyamory ,r/nonmonogamy and r/monodatingpoly), it is best to assume otherwise Most people are not non-monogamous. And some pair bonding studies for you. https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fevo.2019.00230/full "In sum, we conclude that while there are many ethnographic examples of variation across human societies in terms of mating pattern…

I have sex as casually as I have a game of beer pong at a party. Of course you do. like a Disney movie Ooooooh the big insult shiver Casual sex doesn't exist. Science backs me up on this. People who think that sex is like playing tennis, drinking coffee or playing beer pong, are not more realistic about sex ; they are simply detached. Shaming people who view sex as a bonding experience (rightfully so) is also not in their favor. They tend to do that a lot. They are a lot of the time deeply insec…

Sex is a high five with a condom No. It's not. As far as I'm aware a high five can't give you STDs that can kill you or impact your life. As far as I'm aware you can't fall in love with someone from a high five. As far I'm aware there is no bonding hormones in play in a high five. From a scientific standpoint: casual sex doesn't exist From a rational standpoint : casual sex doesn't exist From someone who has been around non-monogamous people standpoint: casual sex doesn't exist. People who think…

Sex is not an handshake while experience it really does feel like a more intimate versionof a handshake Then it's not a handshake. Casual sex doesn't exist. There is nothing casual about sex. The user have a point. Many people who are not religious hold the same views.

Yeah, okay, so the ENM people you’ve met conveniently all have personalities/characteristics worse than Hitler. :D :D :D What about your experiences with monogamous folks? :D Look, I get that some people react very poorly to others deviating from any sort of social norm, but would it kill you to just leave ENM people the fuck alone? Let them have the types of relationships they/their partners want without bashing them like they’re some of the worst people on the planet? That’s not an unreasonabl…

Of course and sorry to intrude ;) I didn't want to educate you nor challenge your perspective or understanding. I just wanted to said my piece that's why I didn't comment on the OP's post witch is CMV as I fully agree with their perspective Controlling behaviors are toxic and or abusive regardless of what kind of relationship agreement you have. 100%

It's extremely weird that you are NM and don't know about NRE(New Relationship Energy). OP made very good points. In my experience, people tend to be monogamous mainly because the thought of their partner being with someone else makes them extremely jealous. Funny because in my experience people that I have met who tend to be non- monogamous were highly individualistic and have an avoidant attachment style. A lot of the time they were also extremely narcissistic and framed any normal/healthy bou…

I really hate the idea of someone “belonging” to me as well. I’ve seen people who can dictate what their partners can or can’t do based on insecurity or trauma they have(like my partner can’t watch porn ever because he has me or my partner can’t go skinny dipping because I don’t want others to see them Naked). Policing someone’s body and being like that just really rubs me the wrong way. It just feels like a toxic codependent and controlling attachment You don't any folks in OR don't you????? :D…

Monogamy is rigid for who? For people who are not capable of being monogamous. Monogamy is freedom to me. I am staunchly opposed to the idea of controlling/owning other peoples bodies Just because people are in an exclusive relationships that doesn't mean they own each other's bodies. That just mean they are/feel enough for each other. I wouldn't trade that. My love for my partner is exclusive and you certainly don't love your partner(s) exclusively and that's ok but man...RA folks can be so jud…
