One recommendation is I would try to cut down on the beers. Comfort varies from person to person but in general, you don't want to get drunk. For me 1-2 beers is plenty, maybe 3. I end up more engaging, and also save money.

Something that has worked for me is to shift your attention to the guy that's trying to get in on the conversation and make a comment about him. For instance, "I love your shirt where did you buy it?" or something of that nature. When you do this also try to initiate physical contact with the guy, such as touching a part of the shirt and asking what material it is. You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
