Don't worry ab double texting unless you mean hours later. I often double or triple text in the same time frame cause that's just how my brain works, it's like 1 message per idea. For example, if she asked me a question I usually answer in one message and then ask another question in a different text usually in the next min or two. Just how my brain works

Never said it would be easy but thats why you prepare. Awkward silence on a first date isn't good. Obviously you're gonna have some level of awkwardness, but if you act confident, initiate and lead conversations and are actually into the girl after the first half hour or so everything should just flow naturally.

Be creative and confident. Don't take her to a generic place like a coffee shop or a chain restaurant definitely dont go to a movie unless its a drive in. I took my current GF out to dinner at a local place that serves over the top alcoholic milkshakes. Make sure you have conversation topics ready that way there's not really a time where there's awkward silence. Overall just be confident, smile, laugh, and definitely take the lead.
