Only time I'd even say it's permissible is if it is on camera that they are assaulting you. Not even then. Insulting, provoking and spitting on a driver, effectively putting all the passengers in danger, he probably held back delivering that uppercut since she was still able to stand up, but of course he was suspended and removed from his job. Also funny (sad) how she acts tough until she gets her ass kicked but then she pulls the "I'm a girl" card. So much for equality. His reply is also great:…

So by your logic I should be a writer to criticize books, a musician to criticize music, a filmmaker to criticize movies? I'm just pointing out that this stuff is just ridiculous and breaks the immersion, which is important in any piece of storytelling. Consistency is the key: you can make a fantasy, or a sci-fi or whatever, but you still need to follow your own rules. The Uncharted games usually separate the gameplay logic from the story: bullets won't kill you during gunplay but if a character…

I don't think there's anything wrong with either. Like the Romans used to say, there is a time for negotium and one for otium. Seeking constant pleasure is detrimental to one's life, but being completely labor-oriented isn't healthy either.

Also Ellie from The Last Of Us. The whole game is centered around fighting as little as possible, both against humans and against Runners/Clickers/Bloaters, but what I really appreciated was ---mild spoiler--- how when you play as Ellie, she dies in a few punches, even in easy mode. Heck, in easy mode playing as Joel you could even save yourself from Clickers by using knives whereas in normal if they get you you're dead. With Ellie it's instadeath even in easy mode. ---end of mild spoiler--- Mad…

This reminds me of Sicario. Now that's a movie with a great female character. She is emotionally devastated by the Mexico drug wars and the local police methods, and at some point she would have been killed by a man if she wasn't rescued so it doesn't show unrealistic scenarios. But she is otherwise a determinated person with a strong sense of justice, and she kicks ass. And it's Del Toro, need I say more?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
