Yea that makes a lot of sense. That and internet porn too. Thanks for this.

Ayy sweet! Glad there are others. I think the tribalism/racism argument is interesting. And here’s how I think we get past that: through personal growth we replace our ideological/cultural identities, (which are mostly hollow replicas of the bio-emotional need for a tribe), with an actual sense of community. This is why personal growth and responsibility is important. It opens us up to the possibilities of real intimacy, in my experience and many others. And to seeing how our lifestyles have str…

My view is a sort of leftist, supportive of traditional-ish gender roles, Jordan peterson take on things. I would recommend the first chapter of Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules of life on male hierarchies. And Tribe by Sebastian Junger. I forget which of this came from where exactly but: in Tribe they talk about how for the vast majority of the millions of years of our evolutionary history, up until the past 10,000 or so, humans lived in very close knit tribes of about 50. They were almost never alon…

inequality in social skills and how this interacts with social norms. This really articulated something I’ve been feeling for a while. It really hit me. There does seem to be a huge inequality in social skills. I’d love to hear more about this and any sources. It seems to me (pretty attractive guy but had chronic self esteem issues and never dated) women are mostly attracted to confidence and self esteem. This is fundamentally emotional in nature and because the majority of men seem fundamentall…

Yes. Lots of fancy words and names for immaturity. Thinking errors is what we call them in psychology.

No need for disclaimer, or even explanation. It’s disgusting and dehumanizing. It comes from the deeply ingrained evolutionary idea that men are, quite literally, disposable. And have been treated as such for a long time.

I can understand why they would be pro-feminist, and I disagree because I think feminism has not been pro-men. I read the rules (and the extra part) and they weren’t clear on whether or not, or how they enforce being pro-feminist. That’s what I was asking you. I’d want to be able to argue that the men’s movement should not be pro-feminist, especially not supporting the idea of male privilege which is pretty core to nearly all of it. I don’t know if I could say that or not. Was asking you. I’d gu…

I believe your experience and I don't doubt it's been horrible. But this point I don't think you're listening and engaging in discussion, but rather shooting down my ideas. When often times we're in agreement. This was to try to share with you my perspective, not to change yours. We disagree. My opinions are different from yours. Best of luck to you.

Hey that's good to hear. Glad you're bridging the gap. We really are all on the same side, and it's good to see level-headed-ness. I also think you misunderstood. It's not about being able to disagree with parts of feminism. We were speaking of not allowing anti-feminism. Someone who identifies as a member of the community claimed that it's not allowed there. But not allowing anti-feminism doesn't mean we agree with all aspects of feminism So, genuinely curious: The rule says "Our approach is in…

I see I left out a key point in my thought process. Should read "he moped around NOTICEABLY for days without telling her." Obviously he's upset. That's totally understandable, normal, perfect human response. I have no issue with that. And I was assuming there, and this may not be true, but asssuming that he was hiding it from her because he felt ashamed and like less of a man and a provider and less attractive to her. And if he was hiding it from her out of shame, that is what I was calling weak.…

Quite possible for some women. But be careful not to assume this reality and create it. If you look for it even where it is not you will find it and that may prevent you from connecting with women in a real way.

For years of 2010-2012 female-perpetrated "made to penetrate" sexual assault on men, (rape, for lack of a better word,) was at parity with male perpetrated rape for these years. Let that sink in for a minute. When you are done letting that sink in, ask yourself why a sub called r/menslib is not mentioning that in 2012 there were over 1.5 million instances of female-on-male rapes according to the CDC NISVS survey in 2012? (Although they don't call it that, but prefer the more awkward, "made to pe…

But not allowing anti-feminism doesn't mean we agree with all aspects of feminism, or all of feminism. Primarily we are concerned with removing outrage and blame that distracts from solutions. Easy solution: ban outrage, blame and distracting from solutions. Not disagreement.

Wow, I love this sub for always having concrete sources and not dealing in vague assertions. Thanks for the good conversation. I think the first article is pretty accurate. In my experience lots of women are pretty terrified or even repulsed when men show emotion around them. I was with a bisexual guy on acid who started crying out of happiness. My HYPER feminist friend and a seasoned SOCIAL WORKER I was with both gave him that "what the shit is happening look and froze up." I gave him a hug, ob…

Yes. I’m answering this as far as attraction goes, because that’s the skepticism that I’m picking up here. As far as attraction goes, it’s very attractive. As I started to feel and express my emotions for the first time, my girl friends were like yes, this is what we’re talking about. I’ve had conversations with women I was interested in, in which they said they could be honest with me about their emotions because I “wasn’t stupid like most boys,” (aware of my own emotions). However, it doesn’t …

See I don’t buy this, and if it’s true then those women are not worth being with. In my experience: I cried when a girl read me some poetry she wrote and she told me it was hot. The only time I have ever let someone see me emotionally going haywire in the moment was an old best friend, female, and pretty attractive. Later she more or less told me drunk that she wanted to hook up and would date me. We did end up having sex, which ended badly for other reasons. My guess: if you feel like you deser…

We’re speaking of different things. From my perspective emotions are separate from any delusions they are connected to or any reactions we may choose (ex: laughing). Emotions are nothing but the experience of emotion. They are best treated as valid because fighting them only frustrates and intensifies them from a psychological perspective. And they are natural reasonable responses to our circumstances, and/or our thoughts or beliefs about them. People are, however, responsible for their actions,…

Yup. The thing with emotionally abusive relationships (individual or collective) is both sides contribute. Understanding that invalidation of women's sexual abuse and invalidation of male emotions are part of the same cycle is how you end them both. Working with one side while continuing to invalidate the other only intensifies the cycle. Any couples therapist or couples therapy book will tell you this. I see the same things on a collective scale.

Gaslighting is trying to convince someone that their experience of reality is mistaken or false. Mild gaslighting and emotional invalidation can be on some level common in everyday interactions, especially if you have low self esteem and allow people to subject you to them. Or exhibit abusive patterns yourself and subject others to them. Regardless, being subjected to them over a long period of time and beginning to internalize them causes people to abandon their own experiential truth needing c…

"Sorry you went through that, but here's what they really mean/here's why you shouldn't be upset/here's why it was okay" These are two different types of emotional abuse known as emotional invalidation and gaslighting. There is a societal pattern of emotionally abusing men, often enforced by women. Especially (although not always) in the feminist movement. More on this here.

Thanks a ton for the response and all the info. I actually just listened to the audiobook of A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. That definitely played into what I was thinking about. Some of the ego characteristics he describes seemed similar to NPD stuff. I agree that TRP can be helpful in some things. Like the overall life philosophy of take care of yourself first, worry about your own enjoyment first. And out of abundance look to date rather than out of looking for fulfillment. It helps people…

Just saw this in your post history because I saw you were talking about doing shadow work and therapy along with redpill. I often wonder how to/if they can be reconciled. I agree with a lot of stuff but not big on the never sharing emotions with a woman part. Anyways I’m really interested in this theory. I think it’s fascinating and I’m also A bit fascinated with narcissism and crazy people. Used to work in the criminal justice system so I saw it in action a good bit. And I feel like I did a lot…

I lost it at disgusting vagina. I mean it was clear from reading the original that he should leave her with whatever repercussions his heart desires. But this pretty clearly illustrates the biases we have towards women. I didn't even realize how appalled I should be until I read this.

Wow, thanks for this info. I agree with you. I think the website is a very level headed approach at simply, coldly, and statistically debunking feminism. It is good for “redpilling” as you might say, a feminist as it did me. Other sources would be necessary to take you further into the truth.

As far as the topic being related to men's issues, much of the article (unlike the title) points out the focus of progressive movements on the safety of women over men, while being blind to the fact that men are actually subject to equal or greater amounts of violence in many/most arenas. My point is not that no discussion should ever focus on women’s safety, but rather that we should understand that a general preoccupation with women’s safety over men’s is not new or progressive.

Bro once I was at a dance function dancing around this older woman that I wanted to dance with but was pussyfooting on the first move. She was straightforward with MY desires and was just like, matter of factly, you wanna dance?

If he’d been attractive she would have said yes. She’s reporting him for not knowing ahead of time that she would have said no and was not open to advances.

Coal mining, welding, trade schools. Waste management, plumbing, law enforcement. The military. I’m wondering too 🤷🏼‍♂️ And where is the feminist push to get women into these jobs? All I see is women in STEM and management positions being pushed.

There is a tendency to value men for what we can do rather than who we are that he seems to be subtly acknowledging.

Wow, this was well said. While I’ve learned a lot from feminism and used to be one, it’s certainly the people in the movement, the feminists that have turned me off from it. and my opinion of the movement lessens by the day, Especially when someone puts it so clearly. Thank you

There are other possible interpretations of the data, so yours needs evidence or it’s just an opinion. Ex: there is a dark place where you hate yourself and you take a bunch of sleeping pills and you don’t really care if you wake up or not, but something deep in you knows it’s not your time yet. But perhaps it’s the only way that part of you knows to cry out for help. There is another dark place where you have totally given up on life and on anyone understanding and caring for you and you just w…

White knight my fucking god. I'll take it over sociopathic juvenile. Start with worldview as premise -> draw baseless and irrelevant conclusions from hard evidence to support worldview -> prove worldview. Yawns. Either women are incompetent and can't manage to figure out how to kill themselves, or most female suicide attempts are really just attempts to get attention. It's not really that hard to kill yourself, so I think the answer is that women just see fake suicide attempts as a way to get at…

Oh I'm well aware of the statistics and I'm not disputing them. Either women are incompetent and can't manage to figure out how to kill themselves, or most female suicide attempts are really just attempts to get attention. It's not really that hard to kill yourself, so I think the answer is that women just see fake suicide attempts as a way to get attention. Many women love being a victim and getting sympathy. The statistics don't lie, and they also certainly do not support the sweeping generali…

This is exactly the bullshit that gives mens rights a bad name. I can’t imagine being so horribly insensitive to people who attempt suicide and also happen to women. Dude you got some serious issues with women if you think the only reason they would attempt suicide is to “pretend” so they can get sympathy and dodge blame. In a sea of crying misogyny at the drop of a hat, this here is an example of genuine misogyny. A complete reduction of the psychology of suicide attempts to fit your childishly…

Hard to blame everything on men once you’ve realized that 90% of the social programming we recieved came from, guess who— women. Teachers, nannies, childcare workers, primary caregivers are all mainly women. While the men worked their lives away under capitalism.

This is one of the biggest problems I see. Many (possibly the majority?) of people have internalized the idea that if a woman is upset at a man, the man is wrong and should apologize. Just be yourself, listen to yourself, listen to others, and don’t panic just because they have emotions about what you’re saying and happen to be female. Stand your ground.
/r/MensRights04/08/19 08:28 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
