Try not to raise him in a rural area that recognizes only one acceptable type of boy. Rural areas are the worst. I think I'm allowed to say that because I'm from a rural area. IMO, if parents raise a son in a rural area and are surprised when that boy turns out either traumatized or not an open-minded man, they have only themselves to blame.

Very interesting story, congrats on your complete 180! Personally, I just don't think porn is amazing enough for me that I would choose it over something else I wanted to do. I also can't imagine it "flipping" my desire to have "the real thing." I'd always rather have the real thing.

If I can be completely honest and maybe a little blunt, I could not be more confused by the men who believe porn is harmful to them. I'm in no way doubting their sincerity or their struggles, it just makes no sense to me. Maybe. I will say this though -- perhaps people aren't aware, but the whole "porn is legal", "masturbation is okay" world we live in wasn't won without a fight, and there are still people -- my own Xtian mother for example -- who'd love to go back to the times when people weren't even trusted to be accountable for their own porn viewing habits because it was just straight up illegal. So I'm hypervigilant.

True! My state had abstinence-only sex ed that taught us almost nothing and their main argument was "but STDs!" I asked the teacher how marrying prevents a person from getting an STD from their spouse and they had no answer. LOL

I totally believe everything you're saying here, which makes it even stranger to think there was an entire generation or two of intact American men who had their sons circumcised. My intact uncle apparently circumcised his son. It's crazy how non-intuitive many men appear to be.

Yeah, I went. It was a lot of practical advice, information about anatomy, clearing up myths. And some sex positivity. The presenters got the audience's rapt attention. Maybe people prefer to cuddle with whichever gender they feel it is more of a personal accomplishment to be touched by. If a straight guy is anxious that women might not like him (anxious to be liked by women), a woman's cuddles mean more. If a gay guy is anxious that men might not like him (anxious to be liked by men), a man's cuddles mean more.
