Be careful of friend-zoning after this.. you've given her a license to flirt as much as she wants. Good work though.

I think the main problem with the show is that it reinforces Ted's actions instead of Barney's. You're supposed to think, "Oh silly Barney, girls really want what Ted gives them." Which is not true at all. Some of Barney's techniques are fantastic (particularly the ones you mention), but I'm left thinking that Ted is what girls really want.

You get a white camp t-shirt and a pack of highlighters. Tell girls to draw something "for the kids." Works best if there is a blacklight, otherwise just use sharpies.

First of all, I have to say I'm really pleased you posted this. There are lots of issues I've had with this problem as well, especially when I was first starting pickup. The thing is that I've constantly had it in the back of my mind. The ONS is nice sometimes, but it's never really satisfied me on an emotional level, and as such my goal of PU is look for potential mates. These techniques we learn are tools, and it's up to us how we use them. I think the key to making the transition from badass-…

I like to not open up with something as boring as the class you were just in. She probably gets that all the time, and can't tell whether you're interested. Next time (different gal, same class) just say "hi." Get to know her with things like "what's your major?" and "How's your semester going, <name>?" Every single guy who hits on her is going to go for the the classroom talk approach, and now you're going to stand out. And hey, if she's not interested you'll know immediately. Make your intenti…

That could work. Although, it sounds a little forced,.especially if you two were never sexual before that. Don't chase - she'll want her friend back. In the meantime, date other girls. If she wasn't jealous before, she will be then. This seems like a mean tactic but it's not.

This is actually a great opportunity. You don't need words. Just text "??"

Shy girl trying to be sexy? Damn, I'd date the socks off of you. In all seriousness though, if you want to meet people, and I mean if you really want to meet people you're doing it right. Lots of people (guys and gals) sit alone in their rooms and then complain about wanting to meet people, but they don't really. Just having the desire and realizing that it's a good thing puts you head and shoulders above anyone who doesn't. You've gotta know that. Next, it's all about confidence. This will be d…

Well if you're out on a date with her, then the question probably isn't a shit test. Go ahead and tell her what you do. Shit tests will be more obvious then. Something like "I'll bet you're trying to sleep with me on the first date, aren't you? I'm not that easy"

I'd like to see some feedback on this. I feel like in the mirror I can make awesome faces but then in all my pictures I end up just looking scared or angry (usually when I was quite happy). What general face do people try to maintain while chatting up a girl at a bar, for example?
/r/seduction31/08/12 12:41 AM

Make it clear from the beginning she's yours through kino and generally being more familiar with her than the others. Then start to be a little social. She'll probably try to flirt with the other guys a little bit, and the most important thing is to never get bent out of shape. If she moves away for any reason, next her like you don't give a fuck right in front of her, and go chat up some other girls at the bar. If you can, bring them over and introduce them to your friends. She'll probably get …

I agree, the point is that I bought a certain type of food to cook for a gal because I was too obsessed with making that work. As if I had no other options. Abundance mentality takes care of that.
/r/seduction30/08/12 04:57 PM

Nope. She was allergic to gluten. As for organic food...nah. Shit's expensive.
/r/seduction30/08/12 03:52 PM

Damn, this hit me real hard. Especially the organic produce. I once met a girl I really liked, and I went out the next day and bought a shit-ton of gluten-free food so I could cook for her and impress her. Looking back, trying to impress a girl isn't necessarily a bad thing, but what I did was a ludicrous sign of one-itis. Turns out she's kind of a bitch anyway and we never actually went on that date. Thanks man.

You're right. I used to think they were a big deal, but now that I get a lot of numbers it's really common for them to never text me back. Gotta cut this shit out. I need to get back to the textbook escalating kino - I feel like that's where I start to get uncomfortable.
/r/seduction16/08/12 06:04 AM

Yeah, that's sort of the way I feel about it now. It's crazy though! When I first started doing this getting a number was huge. Now I got 3 #-closes tonight that aren't even worth mentioning, I don't even think I'll call them. Now that I get a lot, it's also surprising how many never get back to me. haha

Yessir. I recommend taking up muay thai or Brazilian jiu jitsu as well. I recently posted in here about a situation wherein I think I handled things very well, but most of this advice applies directly. I was mostly able to stay calm because I was confident and knew I could take care of myself. If you don't feel physically threatened, you won't seem physically threatened. That said, if you're 220lbs and have some training background, I'd gladly walk away from that one.
/r/seduction11/08/12 01:46 AM

This. I posted an interesting competitive situation here a while back - the crucial part was to not let her think you're competing. Otherwise you run the risk of her getting cocky and leading you both on.

See, look at that. You already seem like a pretty interesting guy. Go out and be interesting. If you just get excited about stuff, people will get excited with you! And that stuff isn't exciting you anymore, then find other things to get excited about! Go do some yoga, or start lifting weights! Hell, teach yourself to cook, that would be fun.

This really hits home for me. Even after being on seddit for about three months (that's actually not that long is it? oh well), I find myself repressing the urge to be needy. Every ex-girlfriend I still talk to refers to me as "total boyfriend material," and this sort of bothers me. I'll backtrack: I've had a very similar thing happen to me. I got out of a long term relationship at the end of high school (about 3 years long) and dated this girl I'd been friends with for the last few months of hi…

The thing is, there's this notion in society that we're not supposed to talk about picking up girls. We need to have some "excuse" to talk to girls, and of course we should never think about having sex with them. That should just happen spontaneously when we meet the right person, right? Sigh. If you want to get good at something, you practice it. When (and if) you ever meet the one you're gonna want to be comfortable talking to girls, right? Then fucking practice. If, however, you just want to …

I agree with you, I do the exact same thing - I leave them the fuck alone. But my reason is different than yours. While yours is definitely noble, I leave these girls alone because I have less of a chance of scoring with them anytime in the near future. Also, when they eventually break up with their boyfriend, they're going to want friends who didn't hit on them, and then there you are.

I don't care who you are, you should be lifting weights if you aren't already. Your game will improve, and women will notice. They probably already notice you thinking about going to the gym. Link for the lazy: r/weightroom Now stop being lazy and go to the gym!

But...really? I think both characters are both unrealistic. You don't get girls by swooning over them and being annoyingly persistent (Ted) and you don't get girls by walking up to them, buying them drinks, and saying "Hey baby, why don't we go upstairs?" There's a middle ground somewhere.
/r/seduction25/07/12 05:55 AM

And How I Met Your Mother. Holy crap. It's a funny show - but it gives terrible advice for getting women. Don't be fucking Ted Mosby. Nobody else is fucking Ted Mosby.

Cool story bro, and nice work. That was some nice quick-thinking. I liked your last paragraph best, and it does seem like it's more of a situational thing - I mean I don't know if I'd just start talking about chapstick and lean in for the kiss, but if it comes up, hell yeah.

All that really matters I think is that you become good at something, and become high in a hierarchy that matters to you. That said, thai boxing is a lot of fun. I've taken that up as well as jiu jitsu and wrestling because I love martial arts - and it's a huge confidence boost. If you've spent the afternoon getting hit in the face by huge guys trained to do this, you have nothing to prove out in bars.

I learned most of it here, and it's gotten more and more natural over time. However, never really had a situation like this before and I was interested to see what other would have done. I probably could have been a bit more alpha in the beginning, but I think I mostly got lucky.

"Things are just really busy right now." I don't want to see you again. This one I sort of enjoy hearing, even though it pisses me off. Mostly because even if she's being serious, she's too busy to have a good time with me? She's lame and I'm awesome, so she saved me a lot of time.

I am humbled by your words. Thanks for your reply! Haha I was kind of wondering what would happen there, too. In fact I used to wrestle with one of the bouncers there, and currently box with the other, so I knew a few of his friends. I just didn't leave the girls to go talk to them because, well, I didn't want to. Thank you for posting this! And the cricket thing...that's real good. I'm going to use that. The other day to prove this very point to someone (he was asking me what he should say to a group of girls he didn't know), you know what I said? "Hey, wanna see something gross? Look at my arms, I have ringworm." I really do have ringworm, just a few small spots. It'll be gone in a few days. By the way, I also don't recommend saying anything gross like that, but the point stands. I did get a number out …

This is getting a lot of great responses, so I need to tell you that this was a really good question to ask. Great post. One thing that helps me, is thinking of what I have to lose. When you're out and there are girls you could talk to, what could you possibly lose? Even if you did get rejected by every single damn girl there (it's happened to me), what's the worst thing that could happen? You're not talking to some girls you weren't talking to in the first place. You're back where you started, …

Traditionally you're correct. But I've never played it this way with a girl. In fact, it's never really a game when you play it with a girl either. They just wanna ask you stuff. Beautiful.

I think he obviously meant that you shouldn't actually restrain her. If she wanted to get out and pull away, make sure that she could. But this is important because a lot of girls think its cute (and subtly, very arousing) if you can hold them down in some gentle way.

You're right, of course. I would have wanted to say something like that too. But you don't, because no matter what happened, no matter how he's acting, if you say one thing that an asshole would say, you become an asshole. Especially if this girl already knew aforementioned AMOG. This sounds like it was an awkward situation. That bit about buying girls drinks: before I came here, it seemed like such a good idea. If a dude buys me a beer, he's my friend at least for the night. But it's different with girls. Very different. They will get as many 8$ drinks out of you as they can.
