Yeah, I don't think it's so much about finding some ethereal, mythical 'passion' that exists and which you are destined to find... so much as it's simply finding an interest, career path, or whatever that you can tolerate and maybe even enjoy doing. Seems like a low bar - but there are armies of people out there who just need something they don't hate.

Hot car to get pussy? Huh. Where did I say that. I was just throwing out random examples of debt. Don't overthink it.

OK. You can go around boldly and proudly declaring how you refuse to be 'enslaved' by your debt all you like. Knock yourself out. It won't change the fact that it's debt. And you need to pay it back. This is real life bud - if you owe something, you owe something.

If it's an idea for a business, you can slowly work on building it up on the side (would take serious discipline and couldn't just come home and slack off anymore) or if it's a career change, you'd have to find a way to balance obtaining the training/education required for it while still maintaining existing income. Some paths are easier than others, of course. Some you could probably take classes online and keep your FT job, whereas others would require formal training and you'd have to tempora…

My entire post was about how "you should leave that job and find one you love" is much easier said than done.

If you truly enjoy what you do in a 9-5 type job, then you are right, it won't feel like a rat race at all. But you should consider yourself blessed to have a passion you can explore and be compensated for. Most people do not love their jobs. The real problem lies with those who went to college for something, realized somewhere along the way that they didn't really like it, or didn't have a passion for it, but under the pressure of student loans and the allure of graduating faster, went ahead an…

Huh? The whole point is that neither the guy in the story nor myself would have expected it to end the way it did. That's called expecting something positive. And I'm not having a shitty time, not in the slightest, but thanks for the input.

This woman led the poor guy on to the point where they got a room(!) after a date. He's thinking he's going to score, meanwhile she's going over her "defense skills." What incredible dishonesty on her part. Imagine his internal reaction when she pushes him away by the chest at the mere suggestion of a kiss. She even recalls it using the phrase "back off" - so hostile. Regardless of the guy's game, this is a woman who needs psychological help and who clearly isn't over the trauma of her last rape…

Not to mention all of the New York Yankees General Managers who happen to be stunning 10/10s...

Then work hard so you do it in a girl and not in your hand.

Ask her out. I don't see how doing anything else would be productive.

I've been telling you that 2+1=3, and you keep asking "why add one if you already have two?"

Being able to throw in "I'll impregnate you for the sport of it" was awesome. Loved the funny self-critiques and meta jokes about the immediate situation to lighten the mood, it reminded me a lot of my game, only better. Nice job.

"once you're confident and past [fear of approaching], it's nice to have some tips, tricks, and emotional intelligence insight beyond the brute force "Always Assume Attraction" method."

"Always Assuming Attraction" as I have said and Cajun has said, works well for beginners (those who will instinctively come up with a million and one reasons to not approach) but assuming you have confidence, it's pretty much assumed that you're going to be giving yourself a chance at every turn with every girl. This mindset doesn't take long to grasp, and once you're confident and past that, it's nice to have some tips, tricks, and emotional intelligence insight beyond the brute force "Always A…

I agree. 'Assume attraction' is not the best piece of advice - I think a better one would be 'don't assume disinterest'. As you said, in the beginner stages it helps in the sense that it's giving a jolt of energy and confidence to someone who desperately needs it (a beginner who maintains a belief that attractive women are out of his league, full stop) but that automatic assumption can lead to fraudulent self-confidence and sociopathic shortcutting (as the 'fake it til' you make it' style can ju…

No offense, but I'm not being taught to do anything. I'm not studying or treating as gospel a subreddit's philosophy. I'm my own man with my own views. I'm sure I agree with some "staple philosophies" and disagree with others. Second - of course, confidence isn't limited to positive perception of physical appearance. I was simply commenting that the "looks" facet of confidence - that is, overconfidence in one's appearance relative to their sexual market value (i.e. a 6 thinking she's a 9) turns …

I don't either - at least not highly. I am put off by a girl who has low self-esteem, yes, but many women that would be described as being high in confidence think they're hot stuff when in reality they're like a 6.
