I went through something similar 8 or 9 years ago with my wife. Things were a bit rocky for a while but good now. A couple of thoughts... first don’t try to change her mind. To rephrase one of the common MRP ideas, judge her by her actions not her beliefs. Stay away from anti-religious books, blogs, people. IE the Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris types. Sure religious thinking has same bad drawbacks, but focus on the positives. Especially the positives in your wife. I’m guessing she’s pretty submissi…

Thanks. Tracking now for 3 days and meeting the goal each day. It’s not long, but at this point I can’t start 4 days ago.

At least 2/week. Sometime 3. Frequency is good but not perfect About 50% is passionate/fun. The other half is duty but better than starfish. This is my main concern. Before MRP frequency was half what it is now and good sex was about 25% with the rest starfish. So I’ve come a long way. That said before my current overseas assignment it was better than it is now. The last couple of years have been challenging on the whole family and I have back slid a bit. Looking to get myself back to where I wa…

Discovered MRP about 4 yrs ago and made huge strides. I have done a couple OYS in the past but mostly have done the reading and made the changes with great results. I’m here now to work on a few things to get back on course Fitness: major fuck up #1. Been lifting and or work…

I used to be like this. Beta as fuck and tear up at every damn hallmark commercial or stupid kids movie with an emotional ending. Now if I get that feeling, I pivot my attention to the blue-pill Hollywood faggots trying to manipulate me into their feminine primary frame. I get pissed off and don’t loose myself.

My wife got boob job a couple of years after we got married. 12 years later were still together and they’re still awesome. If your story is all true and your describing yourself and her honestly, I think your good to go.

Do you talk to her as much as you’re writing here? Your posts are so long and full of FEELINGS, it sounds like a woman wrote them.

Here's how I dealt with it... I added more weight and then I lifted the weight. 5'8", 44yrs 325# 3x5 Your squat rack has no safety bars? Unless it's homemade, or a crossfit gym I call BS. Where are they? If it's crossfit gym then I bet you're lifting w bumper plates which you can just dump off your back easy. Regardless if you did 5x5 last workout you can add the weight and get at least 3 reps. Get to work.

I did BWF for about a year. I gained some decent skills. Lost 10 pounds from my 1rm bench and 5 from my press, but also dropped 25 pounds of fat. I neglected my legs like an idiot so squat down about 80 and deadlift 50! I did get some cool skills though.

Awesome post, I don't understand though why you put cost of the starting strength program as a con for starting strength. Free templates online. Another recommendation is Crossfit Football. This is NOT typical crossfit. A free linear progression program, w typical big lifts once a week (squats twice) and short 10-15 minute metcon/accessory work. Crossfitfootball.com

5/3/1 is a good program, but newbs will make quicker gains with any of the linear progression programs.

If you can't join a gym, check out /r/Bodyweightfitness beginner routine. It's not a replacement for weights but a good way to make some progress until you can get going with barbells.

Congratulations on finding your happiness! I went through a similar experience over a decade ago. Divorce can be rough even when you want it, but it's so worth it. You call it a beta tax, I prefer to think of it a the price of freedom!

Fitness Doing good here. I will continue my lifting program. By the end of the challenge, new PRs in bench and press. Will rebuild to 315 squats. Diet This is so up and down for me, and was my target before the challenge came up. Just got food scales (for home and work), on Friday. Will implement calorie counting (started yesterday). Hit 1gm protein/lb every day. Adjust total cal for modest weight loss, goal 1pb/week. Hygiene Minor tweaks. Restart morning grooming routine. Brush teeth after coff…

LIn posts so far I see a common theme and goes for me too: slacking over holidays. Getting back to the gym from the holidays and go back to CFFB programming, eating right. Reading SGM and rational male, will plan to finish SGM before vacation next week. Making progress on initiation and pushing through LMR, doing better w shit tests. Getting shit done. Need to keep working on the "sorry's" and sighing but have made much improvement (50-70%). Have noticed lately how beta other parts of my speakin…

Every Body is different, but 5x5 at 190 is not heavy for a 5'9" 20-40 y/o (guessing on OP's age). Let your back get better and get back at it. Make sure you video yourself. Unless you know what you're doing (and with a squat of 190 you don't), you aren't going to be able to reliably feel good form. Edit: for what it's worth I rode LP to 1 RM 400 DL, 365 LBBS, 225 Bench before I stupidly decided to switch to bodyweight training. 5'8" 215 39 y/o at the time of those lifts.

This week: continuing to lift and cut fat. Regained 3 plate deadlift. Lost a couple pounds. Diet good. Becoming more aware of my stupid problem w signing and definitely improving. Set to check out MMA class tonight. Meeting w friend tomorrow. Reading on Kino. Finally finished WISNIFG Work to do- still struggle w shit tests. Good wife so not many but when they come I struggle to find the A&A response I need. Usually fall into logic or DEER but I'm getting better at catching myself and the STFU. N…

Take what's useful, ignore what doesn't apply. As I see this sub it's neither a Christian sub nor an atheist sub (or any other -ism). A variety of backgrounds... a common goal.

Do YOU like the aromatherapy and lights and shit? If you don't want it, don't do it. If you do want it, do it for yourself. (And then keep working on yourself till you don't like it, cause that shit is gay as fuck!).

After you divorce your wife, and let this oneitis know you're available, she's going to give you the hard nope. You're not her love, you're an orbiter. She'll probably will fuck you if you stay married. Leave your wife "for her" and now your just a beta! If you still want a divorce knowing that then go for it

6 or 7 weeks in. First post here: Shit I need to own: Quit sighing so much. Stupid weak and meaningless habit. Quit being sorry for bad things I'm not involved with. She had a bad day? "That sucks" not "I'm sorry". Too damn much texting. Remember, I'm the prize, quit chasing! Shit I'm owning: lifting weights! Fucking so much better than BWF. Tracking calories, macros and loosing weight (just stop getting on the fucking scale 4 times a day like a fat chick on weight watchers). Leading, going grea…

Anger is common. But remember, it's your failure that keeps her from wanting you. Don't be angry at her, be angry at yourself. Then channel that anger into improving yourself. Lift, read, improve.

In 4 monts 10 pounds on your 425 squat is a lot different than 10 pounds on your 185 squat. The first is good progress. The second means somethings wrong. Seriously wrong. Deloads help because you get stronger recovering from lifting not from lifting. Over time fatigue accumulates and deloads allow your body to recover. Source: Mark Rippetoe, John Welborn (crossfire football), Jim Wendler. Also me n=1. Got to tested 1RM 400 Deadlift, 365 squat, 225 Bench.

Dude, you're only 23, your SMV will continue to go up if you keep working, getting promoted, working out dressing nice, etc. There WILL be another girl who's values are close enough AND attractive. NO doubt that you'll be happier with a girl who meets most of your checklist and is attractive to you than this girl who meets all of your list but you CLEARLY are not attracted to! The rest of your life is a long time and dollar to donuts whomever you marry will only get less (physically) attractive …

1 lifted for about 2 years, then did /r/bodyweightfitness for about 1.5 years. I just switched back to weights after going red pill. BWF if both more fun and more frustrating. Lifting weights (for me) does more for my frame. Doing handstands and back levers gets attention but in a show-off kind of way. Moving iron makes me feel like a man.
