Umm… Is he posing in front of a mausoleum? In a grease-stained t-shirt? And this is the most flattering photo he has of himself to display on his dating profile? Ladies, the bar has sunken to an all time low.

Men. Are. Not. Entitled. To. Women’s. Bodies. Period.

Thank you so much for including this link. I’m sure this will be a beneficial read not only to myself, but to countless other women here as well. I look forward to checking this out!

BINGO!!! The freaky Peter Pan “I don’t wanna grow up” complex, and with a doting pickme boy mom. You described my ex to a T!

That’s such great news! I’m so glad to hear you’re in a better place now in your marriage to a different partner. On a side note, I can completely relate to crying into your pillow at night. When I was still with my ex, I used to cry myself to sleep each night, and even though we shared the same bed, my ex didn’t even bother to notice. I truly regret staying in that relationship for as long as I did, and I was so blindly in love that I waited for HIM to break up with me, not the other way around…

This is so spot on. I can relate to every single bit of this, especially the feeling of having to win him over in order to get affection from him. It’s such a miserably lonely kind of relationship to have, and I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had to endure it. You deserve better. We all do.

I know, right! What is up with that? And don’t forget about the poor pickme boy mom who does all of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and caters to her husband and sons’ every need.

You’ve got to be kidding, this is SCARILY accurate to all of my previous relationships. Are we the same person?

I’m wondering if any other women here have a history of dating exclusively emotionally distant, avoidantly attached, manipulative men? My past pickmeisha self definitely had a type 😂

Goodness, I can relate to your experience so much. I’m so proud of you for acknowledging that you deserve better, and from now on you’ll have the strength and self love to leave any relationship that doesn’t serve you. Every point you made is spot on, and I found #4 to be especially valuable. Excellent post!

Hi, ladies! I’ve been an avid listener of the FDS podcast these past several months and I eagerly await each new episode! I found last week’s discussion on rotation management to be particularly valuable to me, because when I was first introduced to FDS I couldn’t fathom the idea of entertaining multiple suitors simultaneously, but after listening to your recent podcast I’ve learned how beneficial it can be for women like myself, who have histories of getting attached to men early on in the dati…

This is a great suggestion, and to hear this topic discussed on the podcast would be very beneficial to me as well! In my pickme days I had a habit of falling for men early on, idealizing a relationship by wearing rose colored glasses, and fantasizing about a future together. I have been hurt by this in the past more times than I can count. Now that I’ve found FDS, I’m interested in learning ways I can combat slipping back into this unhealthy frame of mind.

I’ve never before witnessed such a superlative example of narcissism. Yikes.

I can relate to what you’re going through so much, it almost feels like I could’ve written the same comment myself. I was broken up with a few weeks ago, and my ex has been in my thoughts practically nonstop. The harder we try to stop, the more we seem to think about them, it seems. Remember not to be too hard on yourself during this time, and with each new day you’ll find you think about him less and less. You’ve got this!

Thank you for your insightful advice! I really needed to hear this today. It’s clear that you’ve come a long way and learned many things, and I hope that someday I can be this wise, composed, and confident. Good for you!

I’m relieved to find I’m not the only one who feels this way. My first boyfriend shared an apartment with three women (a major red flag I was too naive to see at the time), and in the two years we were in a relationship my ex never introduced me to a single one of them (another big red flag). To my knowledge my ex never had romantic or sexual attachments to these women, but he ended up cheating on me with a different woman regardless. Perhaps it’s due to the hurt and constant insecurity I endure…

Thank you so much for commenting! I found your personal experience really inspiring. Instead of letting a breakup tear us down, we have the power to let it motivate us to achieve the fulfillment in life we’ve always dreamt of, and to find true happiness within ourselves.
