He would leave immediately if she ever cheated on him... buuut she should rise above the disrespect/betrayal and be forgiving if he cheats.

I sometimes think about the many things that make me grateful to have been born when I was, given that 99.99% of humans— even the bigwigs of history— never got to experience them. Electricity. Indoor plumbing. Phones. Quick, accessible transportation. The post Women’s suffrage and Civil Rights eras in America. Aviation. The internet. Vaccines. Cinema. (Colorized, high-def!) television. Being able to see amazing, detailed images of things beyond Earth (I recently marveled at the fact that I saw a…

It wasn’t until 1981 that the Federation of Feminist Women's Health Clinics created anatomically correct images of the clitoris. 1981. 19...81. This species successfully sent men TO THE MOON and back 12 years before we had our reproductive system properly basic-level mapped out.

My mom wanted to leave my NVM dad with everything in her, but she waited until I was old enough where the courts would let ME choose who I’d live with post-divorce. She knew, absent father though he was, he’d sue for custody just to spite her. And he controlled the purse strings to afford the better lawyer. I didn’t find this out till years later, and it just broke my heart. To know she stayed and suffered to protect me... Especially because I immediately knew I would have made life SO unbearabl…

I heard a quote today that was in reference to the storming of the US Capitol, but tbh, I immediately thought of men who need to slap, choke, or in any way harm or demean a woman in order to get off during sex: "Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent."

Chiming in to say, I think your handwriting is beautiful! It flows with its own unique character and is still very legible. I'll be the first one to say I don't have the prettiest, most feminine handwriting in the world, so I definitely appreciate it when I see it and wanted to give you a shoutout!

This is fascinating! I’m a diehard “fan girl” for a couple different fandoms (GoT NOT included, largely bc of the later seasons). And the litmus tests there— woah, buddy. For instance, to the LVMs of my past, there was an unspoken rule that I could be a Star Wars fan, but only if I knew less trivia/was less passionate about it than the guy. The SW community is notorious for its toxicity tho, towards women and POC in general, so I’ll swerve around that easy target because I’m so excited to ask yo…

Love her so much, but “Million Reasons” by Lady Gaga. Christ. Pickmes croon it like it’s romantic (I know— I used to be one of them who did it) but I cringe every time I hear it now. ‘And if you say something that you might even mean It's hard to even fathom which parts I should believe 'Cause you're giving me a million reasons Give me a million reasons Givin' me a million reasons About a million reasons I bow down to pray I try to make the worst seem better Lord, show me the way To cut through …

Sending you love, hope, and strength. I’m so sorry you’re going through your situation where you live. And I am so SO glad you look at yourself differently. I absolutely didn’t mean to imply I’m excluding women affected by seeing her up there— I myself am of course deeply moved by it too. It’s an important, historical, game changing moment for so many of us to witness. I just look forward to the day girls, boys, women, men, everyone think of it as... normal. ❤️

I feel this. When folks were still in the dark about the plot of Frozen II, there was HUGE fervor over Elsa "finally" getting a romantic partner. A large part of that was a push to see her have a female love interest. I am absolutely for more LGBT representation in media and would applaud seeing a lesbian Disney princess, but I was disappointed to see this outcry implying Elsa (or Merida from Brave) wouldn't be interesting enough until she was head over heels for somebody else-- male or female. …

Ooof. I needed this. Due to uncontrollable circumstances I had to be around my ex for 8 hours today. Luckily others were around (not always though). The silence between us felt like a gulf. As it was meant too-- he pulled too much NVM behavior and as such has lost access to me in every way. And I'm sure my distant, stoic demeanor conveyed the message I wanted... but at the end of the night, after I left the building first, I looked back at the door and saw that he'd stepped away to watch to make…

This reminds me of the backstory behind fettuccine alfredo. Alfredo Di Lelio worked in a restaurant in Rome. Around 1908, his wife gave birth to their firstborn, but in her weak state she lost her appetite. Her husband dutifully went to work making different dishes for her, eventually inventing a whole new dish she loved so much that it restored her vigor. She recommended he add it to the restaurant’s menu, it took off, and voila— the world has fettuccine alfredo.

A male coworker who I hardly ever speak to told me to smile the other day as I was obviously looking for a trash can. A trash can. Like any woman, I hated being told to smile in the grocery store or at the gas station, but that was all pre-Corona. Thankfully, hadn’t heard a “Smiiiiile!” comment since masks became a way of life. I pointed out to this scrote that I was wearing a mask. That he couldn’t see the lower half of my face anyways. I thought this would deter him. His golden answer? “Oh. So…

I needed to read this so much right now. Especially that list. Lol, I loved “Go FBI on your past relationship”, because it’s so true! Be the Detective Hercule Poirot of your own life.

OH, I feel this SO much. I’m 8 months removed from the breakup and am only now TRULY ready to call myself healed... or at least mostly there. I was angry and scared for so long that I had been drawn to a guy like that in the first place— what did it mean for my future? Doomed to make the same mistakes? I felt like I couldn’t trust my own instincts anymore. What worked for me was diving into self-reflection and peeling back the layers of why he was the way he was, and why I in turn was attracted …

My favorite part of this, even more so than Lady Karma coming round to rightly bite him in the ass, is not that you were neutral on the other side, but flourished. Lifelong friends, a lovely fling, and what sounds like a truly pleasurable experience in a foreign country. Add that to getting back home in time (if now out an extra $500)... It sounds like the universe was definitely on your side. I myself am watching my abusive, narcissistic ex get his Coronavirus-induced karma. The only thing he e…
