Since they motioned me to dance with them but we're then acting uncomfortable... It just felt weird. But i think you're definitely right about mastering awareness of others. I was rather late in developing social skills mostly due to mental illness. But barely anyone i interact with suspects this. Came to learn afterwards that the salsa club is also where they give the salsa lessons, and they host their event after the lessons are done. But they all know each other and have had experience dancing with one another during the classes. So a newcomer sticks out more or less. I've had good luck with older women in the past.
