Actually, looking at the statute governing my jurisdiction took 5 minutes and confirmed my suspicion. A properly executed prenuptial contract can address ownership and liability of all assets obtained "at any time in any manner." So my suspicion is correct, pre-nups can address marital property (depending on the law in your jurisdiction). Moral of the story, pre-nups before you wife up anybody (if that's really something you think is a good idea).

It's my understanding that you'd need to make sure that your spouse found their own attorney without your assistance as well. That way he/she would not be able to claim undue influence.

I don't practice family law, so I can't definitively disagree with this statement. However, I do find this highly unlikely. Generally you can contract to anything that isn't unconscionable, and there's no reason to believe that marital assets are off the table for negotiation. That said, if you have a source for your info offhand, I'd appreciate a reference (otherwise I'll probably research the issue on my own).

It matters with a pre-nup. Get married without one and you're fucked.

It's not empathy. It's counterproductive to attack another man with so little value. Especially when he's doing something that might improve his health/life. Weak people derive their value from making others seem smaller.

Seriously, fuck that fat guy for going out in public and partaking in a fun/outgoing physical activity that may actually help him become more healthy. We should definitely shame him for that. What the fuck is wrong with you? I think you need to reevaluate your values friend.

Ex post facto just using a law to govern an occurrence/incident that occurred prior to that law being passed and signed. For example, on June 1, 2014, I had sex with a female who didn't say no. In fact, she was quite happy to be having sex, but she never explicitly said, "yes, please have sex with me." If the government of my state made having sex with a woman before she explicitly says yes a crime on July 1,2014, it cannot be used to prosecute me for the sex that occurred on June 1, 2014. This …

This is an appropriate and well executed use of anecdote. Very effective. Society needs more of this.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
