| 1 | When is it too old to have kids?I had just turned 23 when I had my oldest kiddo. He was my miracle baby, I was told I wouldn't have a kid without IVF. He was diagnosed with autism before he turned 3. I love him more than I can express, but life can be HARD. He is funny, insightful and works at an age appropriate level. He also can't go out alone and I have to help him with personal care. Parenthood isn't for everyone and I think it's a shame that people can feel pressured by society to have a family. However, if it's something… | /r/RedPillWomen | 14/02/18 02:43 PM |
| 1 | When is it too old to have kids? There's a lot to consider - Do you want children? How are you and your husband's careers/finances/health etc? People are living longer but your own health will be a big factor in how you would cope with being an older parent. Conception could be harder and this can have an impact on your relationship, which is something to consider. If it didn't happen would you try IVF? Foster/Adopt? | 1 | Valentine's Day!We don't 'do' Valentines Day really, but I'm starting to wish we did. We have a million family birthdays in February and from a practical standpoint it makes sense, but I would maybe like to start doing something. Usually I would buy a card and make his favourite dinner. I may try to find a day trip idea, or see if there is something I could make him. The only problem is I frequently bake, so I'm trying to think of something special! I think your plans sound lovely, and I hope you have a magical… | /r/RedPillWomen | 13/02/18 10:57 PM |
| 1 | How to be a supportive partner without feeling like a martyr?Thank you to everyone for the replies. There is a lot to think about. I'm definitely going to get Fascinating Womanhood, as I've heard it mentioned a few times and think it'll be a very insightful read. I think I need to be clearer about where I feel we can compromise, so I'm feeling less frustrated and overwhelmed, but that he doesn't feel nagged. I'll be honest, the kids don't do very much in the way of housework. It's been in part because of my eldest being disabled - he still needs help with… | /r/RedPillWomen | 13/02/18 10:40 PM |
| 3 | How to be a supportive partner without feeling like a martyr? Thanks for your response. I think the issue for me is that it genuinely doesn't bother him in the slightest - when he lived alone he would leave a mess when he was tired, then blitz it all the next day. For me though, it drives me bonkers. He wouldn't think to acknowledge I have tidied it up because it's not something he would particularly notice, so maybe it's the lack of acknowledgement that makes me feel resentful? I think part of the problem is that I want to provide a good home for him to s… | /r/RedPillWomen | 12/02/18 09:42 PM |
