It should be noted that in the study referenced, the participants were college students with an average age of 21. They also used a survey with no incentives, so who knows how accurate the responses were and what biases there are. Not saying that the study is wrong, but everyone basing opinions off of this should be aware of the limitations of the study. I don’t know why, but your first and second bullet point hits home in terms of my job and career. I think that an employer often makes it seem like you’ll be much better off sticking with them instead of exploring your options (promising bonuses, promotions, relationships, etc.). This makes it seem like your options are limited to the one employer. Your points made me realize how little abundance mentality I have in terms of my work

I think that 7 hours of sleep a day should be good, but 6 is likely too low. I can’t say for sure without seeing the study that you’re referencing, but there’s a chance it did not control for factors like pre-existing conditions. A lot of the people that sleep 10 hours might have a sickness like cancer, which would make it look like the average lifetime is shorter.

Actually, I would put sleep first. The book Why We Sleep describes it in more detail, but studies like this one shows that 1 week of 5 hour sleep per day decreased testosterone by 15% compared to a baseline of nine hours a day. I think I will take this and apply only the blacklists section. The reason is that it's highly improbable that a girl will have all the qualities on my "wish list". But I do know what I would not be able to stand. Also, I'm not really even sure what I do like yet. EDIT: actually, now that I think about it, a lot of the inverse of the "wish list" would fit in on the black list.

Ah ok, thank you for explaining. That seems interesting. I'm actually really interested in what causes this. Does having high testosterone lead to having an average IQ? Or does having a high IQ cause the people to commit actions that lead to low testosterone? Or is there something else that explains both of these? And yeah, I would agree with you that there probably is a correlation between income and IQ, I just didn't want it to sound like society as a whole just automatically rewards high IQ.

Hmm, I see my mistake now. So there is an inverse correlation between testosterone and IQ. What about the people with abnormally low IQ or abnormally high IQ? Have you read Sex at Dawn then? It's quite an interesting book and flips the old "hierarchies" thinking of old tribes on its head. It talks about how humans and bonobos are pretty much the only species that engages in casual sex, and how tribes evolved around that fact. I would give it a read if you have time.
