How ironically sexist...I still hardly see how that puts me in the wrong. By Google citing Princeton University's work and choosing to have it be Google's official means of defining words (as in, you don't have to click on any link to receive the definition), they are adhering their work, and should therefore be at the very least partially responsible for presenting it to people in the manner that it does. That's as if you were to be upset with a protester holding a sign that says "abortionists are murderers" in front … | /r/MensRights | 14/07/13 07:10 PM
| -4 | How ironically sexist...Not sure why my comment is getting downvoted? Just substitute "Google" with "Princeton University" and all makes sense again. Aye.. | /r/MensRights | 14/07/13 07:24 AM |
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word.Funny, those are recognized for me. Hmm. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 05:37 PM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word.Sarcasm aside, that's my point. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 03:36 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word.If it didn't compile it's own dictionary, then it sure as hell chooses to add words posthumously. I can't find "Facebook" is any Webster's, yet it's recognized as a credible word here on Google. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 03:34 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word. The word has gained much traction the past few decades, ever since the Lorena Bobbit incident. The men's rights movement and it's subsequent vocabulary has been seeping into pop-culture and cultivated a huge following ever since (heck, the existence and size of this subreddit should be enough evidence for that). If that isn't enough to warrant Google acknowledging it as a word, then I don't know what is. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 03:29 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word. The word has a fucking Wikipedia page, and has for awhile now.. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 03:21 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word.Misandry has been a word (although having slightly different meanings throughout history) since the 19th century. Just because it's less familiar of a word than it's counterpart, doesn't mean it hasn't been lofting around for quite some time. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 03:18 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word.It doesn't stop it from being a word, but the word's exclusion from Google's dictionary makes it seem less meaningful or credible of a word. You can bet if "misogyny" and "feminism" was left out of Google's dictionary, it'd send people in an uproar, they would call Google "discriminatory", and this should be no different. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 02:59 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word."Masculism" isn't recognized, either (yet "feminism" is!). Just found that interesting.. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 02:36 AM
Google Chrome's spell-checker recognizes "misogyny" as a word, yet it does not recognize "misandry" as a word.Just changed a single word I accidentally made the mistake of putting in, bot. ...why am I talking to you? You're a bot. | /r/MensRights | 25/06/13 02:20 AM
