This would presume the majority read bios to begin with. Excluding profiles of those individuals that are glaringly attractive upon a mere glance.

I don't like to use the work luck as it carries a certain connotation that I believe is better substituted by the word circumstance. Otherwise, yes I woulda agree. There are ofc certain character traits and factors that multiply or significantly negate the greater probability for these circumstances, but that's just the "luck of the draw."

JW to co-sign this and add on that their exists studies demonstrating that those whom are more prone to being isolated for significant periods of time are more susceptible to factors that will shorten their lifespan. Regardless to what degree people want to perceive the word "need" as it pertains to contrast with air, food, and water.

Bit of an outlier, but personally as a guy, I've liked going to simple CBT therapy for the past couple years I've been doing it. It's definitely not for everyone, however I think the outlet alone would do most people some good. Better than the prior alternative anyways.

So basically CyberLife from Detroit: Become Human? Easy yes. Next question.

The men dropping out do so because they already went un-noticed or felt under appreciated. Essentially changing absolutely nothing on the grander scale.

You're wasting your breath bro, but personally I appreciate the breakdown!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 05:40 PM

That's fair. I would just agree to disagree. Since one is essentially just hitting an option select and the other is having it pushed upon them. I just don't think they're the same thing mentally.

I'm a bit confused because on one hand this post seems addressed towards the average man that has some success with dating, but generally struggles overall to achieve said opportunities for success. On the other hand however, some of the verbiage comes off as though it is also aimed towards the men that just outright struggle all the same, but without any form of success altogether. Which I don't think this post really applies to. It's solid advice I just don't think it's universally applicable.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 08:31 PM

If it were so simple, easy yes. In my experience however that is not even close to the case so things will carry on as they always have.

My apologies. I should have clarified. How does this apply to neurodivergent males?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 05:29 PM

Ok, now how do you apply this advice to the neurodivergents?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 04:45 PM

It's more that male spaces (as it pertains to here on reddit) are inherently deemed problematic the larger they grow in scale. Been/was a part of every major and under the radar "in**l* sub including the one "withouthate" in the damn sub's name and they all get the same treatment. Regardless of the vernacular used within said spaces. All of which disavowed and did not allow such threats or language to be made to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:01 PM

Is this not just a more cryptic way of stating "women date up"? I don't understand the argument being made here.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 11:15 PM

Articulated very well. This should be posted in the male mental health sub.

People really in here saying “take responsibility” as if establishing any form of relationship isn’t a two way street requiring reciprocation. 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 10:12 AM
58

As I have stated in the past and will continue to reiterate, relationships of all kinds (friends, family, significant others, etc.) are unique in and of themselves, and are NOT substitutes for one another. Of course some of them share interchangeable facets with one another, but they can't outright replace each other in their entirety.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/24 08:24 PM

You know I actually woke up feeling ok today. Please don't associate me and those I know by connotation with this guy. Thanks!

Thanks for entirely ignoring the point. 🤝

Never in my ripe old almost a 30yr old virgin aged life has casual sex ever appealed to me. I can also save for one in my circle, say the same for the company of men I keep that are also not in my predicament.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/24 06:59 AM
12

The thing they don’t realize is they’re doubling down on behavior they already subconsciously participate in. If they didn’t, their outrage channeled towards practicing abstinence would be met with equal if not greater concern from the men they allegedly will be withholding from (The actual men already go unnoticed or ignored by these subset of women as a whole.)
/r/MensRights07/11/24 12:51 AM

I understand why you take grievance with it all, but the bit about male friends tagging along I don’t really understand. I guess it would depend on the context to be fair. However, as a 5’10” 210lb male I confidently say I feel as though I could overpower most MALES in my height/weight class. So imagining being an average woman in both height and weight for their respective gender, it’s difficult for me to understand the frustration with the tag along part specifically.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 12:39 AM
10

I literally addressed that point. The purpose was to provide an example.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/24 07:04 PM
19

A man named Earl Silverman tried that once. Of course his example doesn’t mean men shouldn’t try to advocate in general going forward, but it’s a good example of what can happen when men try to do anything in support of or pro-male in narrative.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/24 06:01 PM

People tend to forget or just don’t acknowledge that relationships of all sorts are a two way street.

Also a valid point.

Anything related to sex and it being the utmost coveted thing men desire over anything else. More so as it pertains to the crowd of men that lack experience and what they'd be like if they got it.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 04:25 AM
2

We're on two entirely different planes of thought. My point is the increased exposure by design is objectively likely to lead to more success than the typical position the male PPD member that's a late bloomer or consecutive failure with seeking out relationships of all kinds with women is going to have.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 03:35 AM
1

Is it though? I mean a diverse social circle objectively beats out a homogeneous or non-existent one altogether. It also in theory presents more opportunities. Which is essential in combination with the acquired familiarity. This is all in contrast to what I assume is the targeted demographic here this advice is being presented to has in their day to day life.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 03:12 AM
1

Yeah, that's a very valid point. Generally speaking I think we just tend to think of self-improvement as being associated with the latter. Hell, some men don't bother at all with the money and status because of where they think they stand.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 10:25 PM
4

Yes, things that in a less chaotic world would not be forced upon one another. Although, perhaps I should have expanded my original statement further. Put it this way, we're past that point of return.

Unironically.

6 I agree with. Still think there'd be male loneliness and suicides, but it'd undoubtedly be an improvement for society. 5 is a pipe dream like everything else on this list and falls in line with 2. Anything requiring men in a significant portion to come together as it relates to the world of dating is just not happening.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 10:36 PM
25

I think as individuals men can certainly self-improve to the best of their ability and should NOT in the first place do so to achieve women. I also think it isn't a universal solution because if we go off the notion of the women's standards being so high particularly as it pertains to looks, that's not something every single man can achieve just by putting in some physical work. One either has the core genetic foundation for it, which I have certainly seen with some originally very overweight me…

As a society, nothing. This isn't some course of action that can be forcibly "corrected" for lack of a more appropriate term. As individuals/immediate surrounding community, probably #2. Although that will never come about either.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 07:50 PM

I understand your primary point. Essentially stating the aesthetic appeal has to exist in the first place in order for there to be the selection that follows. I just think it could have been better worded and has a bit of nuance going both ways, but my comment was to point out the bit about perceived oddity. Anyone that demonstrates standard neurotypical levels of social capabilities is going to be perceived better than one who doesn't naturally mold well into the group. Nothing, "<insert adject…

Another thing I should have clarified better is im also talking about situations where the guy is completely single but has platonic female friends, and the logic is that the more women you're seen around makes you seem "less wierd". Is this part not objectively true? It's not something exclusive to the perception of women either. It's a humanistic tendency apart of subconscious cognitive bias. Otherwise we wouldn't have the stigma and stereotypes we do around loners especially as they pertain t…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 05:14 PM

Valid. In that case I'd just say they're doing what most average people do. Which is ignoring the those they clearly have shots with because they they think they can do better. Especially if they have past experience to go off of. They could also genuinely just not click with any of the women they've come across. All the actual low SMV men I've known well enough including myself can't attest to passing up on anyone.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/24 03:18 AM

Yeah, like the other guy said I believe the title could be better worded if not entirely misrepresentative of the understanding behind what it means to proclaim having low SMV.

IDK about that first part, but I agree with the latter half of that statement.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/24 06:54 PM

Which is why I said more so as it pertains to OLD. Real world requires more initiative and reciprocation on both sides. The basis itself was entirely as it pertains to the average man and woman though. Nothing extensively leaning on either spectrum one way or the other as it relates to levels of attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/24 06:50 PM

It's important in different ways. Although we're in a more progressive society in comparison to the traditionalized past, men are still by majority expected to be the pursuers. The later said lack of experience extends the more it begins to show via lack of confidence, self-esteem, and overall social capabilities through initiation. Said merits for experience can only be met via mutual reciprocation. Something this sub and many in general tend to forget or fail to realize. Thus becoming a compou…

So the perspective is because people have it, in this case significantly, worse than myself I should not be concerned with my own well being, and currently pathed out way of life?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 04:42 PM
12

Brain dead false equivalence of a take. Respectfully, you cannot be serious with that comparison. Why is a "simple 1st world problem" always paired up against the most excessive 3rd world issue as if that's the only optimal deduction?

No, I keep very like minded company in the real world.

Is it limited to males who are unsuccessful with women? Just the sexually repressed religious types? I certainly don't, but I'm also just one guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 07:11 PM
3

Either or because right now it's looking like it's going to be neither and settled implies one at the very least passed some sort of bearable barometer of attraction. Of course I realize that also means they may very well by majority be leaning on one as a means of resource provider for said barometer. That being said I do not know how one would have their sanity and mental health intact if said pick were to take a prolonged period of unknown time.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/24 12:33 AM

2 is exactly why I stopped trying since moving back home. Rest of this is all pretty much common sense to me. Asides maybe 6, but to answer the question though and sort of add onto this list, if you're a male that's very prone to social anxiety as it pertains to the norms and limitations of communication via the OLD environment, you're practically two times as hoed.

Thank You for sharing! It’s actually insane how much one singular thing can really limit your pool. I consider myself to be a demisexual man and upon reflection of reading your post I had not considered the lack of shared traits the individuals I’ve found myself drawn to shared or lack thereof. Also a really low number in my experience. Very eye opening.

I'm saying in it's simplest form it's luck since it encompasses all those things and more in combination with even being presented opportunity.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 07:35 PM
3

If they're entirely equal on all fronts, I would say in its most singular form it all just boils down to opportunity or what is commonly perceived as luck. Even outside of the scope of this question dating in general technically relies solely on that since it's a two way street requiring initial reciprocation in order for it to even have a chance at taking off.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 06:57 PM

Agree with the title, but I doubt society as a collective will ever perceive it this way. Disagree with some of the substances since plenty of "unworthy" men and women go on to reproduce and by that I mean those that are not fit to be parents, but that kind of branches off into a whole 'nother discussion entirely. Lastly, much like the negative perception will never fade, you will also just as equally never get the non-selectees to advocate for what essentially sounds like pro-eugenics.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/24 03:53 PM

Thoughts? This whole thing ironically becomes a blend of self-fulfilling prophecy and lack of opportunities offered due to being inexperienced the longer said inexperience goes on.

The combination of both coming from the developing world on top of significant religious customs I'm not personally aligned with lead me to believe it would not work. That's without the entirely separate consideration for not being supportive of the systems in place that set said women up for remaining 2nd class. Something although in this specific example is directly tied to said religion is not exclusive nor dependent upon religion in and of itself. In other words I'd prefer men and women bein…

In response to your statement about those that go long term without experience turning angry and bitter. I'm stating the anger only lasts a short while because they either decided to act on it or get through it. Thus resulting in apathy.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/24 12:26 AM

By that, I meant they either crash out and do something reckless that affects others or towards themselves. Which the latter being the more likely prolonged action that can occur at really any point in time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/24 09:34 PM

Both of those stages are typically rather short lived for one reason or another. From there it just becomes apathy with everything else directed internally.

The common presumption that these men off rip or at forefront willingly disclose this information is what I would call a good faith, but misplaced understanding of the primary issue. It should go without saying, but inexperienced men (age dependent) typically have significant underlying problems with self esteem, confidence, feelings of inadequacy, social anxiety, so on and so forth. Point being, these issues will in all likelihood prevent themselves at one point or another, through behavior and…

In that instance I would opt out since I think it'd be incompatible to have a partner that has an issue with me getting off to them specifically. However, on that same note, it does not mean I would be open to the the other option either as sex isn't nearly as major a concern to me. So if anything I'd just stick to how things are now with neither.

/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 10:51 AM

Correct. I believe young men especially should attempt to gain as much experience/exposure to the intricacies of relationships and dating prior to the years spent in higher education. If not then, at least in the early years of university. Otherwise it just becomes a compounding problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 03:53 AM

JW add onto this since I don't necessarily disagree with the reason you've provided, but speaking for myself, and other men I know, the majority of the trauma associated with male virginity is tied to social stigma. Personally, IDC about the concept of virginity for the most part, but knowing I'm judged for it definitely doesn't do the mental any good, but I digress. Yeah, this is the best, simple, and straightforward way of putting it. I was going to try to tackle it being one of these dudes in question that also has known/knows women that are SA victims, but there’s no way of approaching it that doesn’t minimize one or the other’s struggles. NVM the significantly differing severity of the two. Iono wtf OP on.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/09/24 12:05 AM
5

Gonna have to disagree. Particular if you’re an average or below male. Especially in the modern dating sphere. It becomes an increasingly more difficult uphill battle the longer one prolongs this. Waiting until college is also a risky play to make since things don’t tend to pan out according to plan. Which can add on to a compounding time stringent problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/24 09:37 PM

Did you mean to word this as a question or a statement? Either way I could.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/24 06:49 PM

Thanks! I'm admittedly terminally online so I try to balance that out by staying as level headed as possible. As much as anyone can vising these and other alike subs anyways.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/24 06:35 PM
4

Speaking as a late non-bloomer, no lol. I believe that sets a terrible precedent and foundation towards understanding the intricacies of relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/24 05:58 PM
4

I'd say it most certainly is and it's not due to people enjoying their own company or not feeling the need to conform to societal norms. How the average individual with average social lives handled extended lockdowns is proof enough of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/24 01:37 AM

I’d be cool if people would just stop doing the weird reverse gaslighting when it comes to this topic. I’d also be cool if people would stop acting like the different forms of relationships can be substituted for one another. Family, Friends, and romantic relationships are all different and debatably necessary in their own individual ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/24 05:33 PM

This is sound advice for the guys it actually applies to, but for those it actually addresses I don't believe it applies. The former being the average man and the latter being the below average and lower. Never mind the neurodivergent tendencies. Typically the ones with aforementioned ego/traits have good reason for feeling and acting or better yet taking inaction the way they do. It's due to absolutely zero success. But the presumption was worded as if they’ve never been in prior relationships. Which is the point I was contesting. As those are two entirely different groups. Most of said dudes have said experience. Now why exactly those specific subset of men dislike women, but still seek out, and entertain time with them is probably due to inability to fight off biological imperatives.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/24 08:13 AM
10

I understand why your assumption with these dudes is that they’ve never had friends that are women or been in relationships with women, but I also think it’s really ignorant. Especially given the fact that you tend to hear these complaints from men with intimate experience with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/24 03:53 AM

I don’t believe this question entirely applies to me, but for contributing to surveys sake I will say no.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/24 12:37 AM

And yet some of my closest confidants have come to me in their times of need with struggling relationships. Overall I’d mostly agree though. If considering the dudes I do know alike me in life circumstances.

You misunderstand my point. Of course divorce is a possibility. I'm saying the cost of it is not applicable to me or those I know like me. The potential benefits from a successful relationship outweigh the costs of a potential failure.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 07:43 PM

Hmmm I wanted to provide two different answers to this since it was phrased in a way setup for it, but I don't think I can without having some fragment of self-inserting. Personally, I wouldn't have an issue with this scenario. Thinking beyond just myself though I can see where one would have cause for hesitance. By default, I've always assumed no fault is an easy grant. To answer your question though, yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:35 PM

I stated it that way since as aforementioned traditionally it is/was perceived that way. Now if we were to go into semantics and the technicalities of the emotional strain being forced upon the man, sure. That could be argued too, but that's not the depth I was referring to.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:08 PM
5

I maybe should have expanded. By both parties, I meant nothing was one sided and forced. Which is the typical perception that comes to mind when any form of arranged relationship is brought up. Speaking in the more traditional sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 05:51 PM
4

Yeah, it is. I just wanted to reiterate that notion since this isn't how these things tend to work in reality. That and a lot of opponents to the idea tend to misconstrue or just outright deflect whenever this subject matter is brought up for discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 05:25 PM
21

If both parties were open to the idea, sure. I guess. Otherwise, no.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 05:14 PM

It’s not that. People tend to use euphemisms because these big name websites frown upon the correct vernacular and it as a subject matter of discourse entirely.
/r/MensRights12/08/24 05:54 AM
9

I don't particularly agree with this mentality, especially since I believe the majority of functioning adults are incapable of successfully adapting this mindset, but that's besides the point. I just think the word happy should be substituted with content whenever this topic comes up since I think it would better get the point across.

That’s most likely because he’s A) being disingenuous and/or B) doing what some of the frequent users that are women, do on here. Referring to the subset of men they actually perceive.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 07:06 PM

I think you two are talking about two different respective groups of men. You also provided the answer to your own seeming confusion which would be the subset of men the lad you're replying to is referring to.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 06:37 PM

Is it still a theory when this is a common rhetoric touted here? Respectfully.

What confuses me with this topic, is how seemingly offended those that don’t struggle with relationships to this degree come off whenever it’s brought up. As if it’s blasphemous to promote the idea that maybe just maybe someone didn’t have the same exact playthrough as you.

Virtually impossible request. The crowd here is a blend of well meaning individuals that feel they’re giving solid universal advice, virtue signalers that post for the positive feedback loop, opposers that contest anything leaning in favor of the gender they take issue with, and in the instance of this post individuals such as yourself that attempt to pinpoint with callouts. In other words, the crowd is a variety pack. I will say as one of the men in question currently going through the exact pl…

I think the topic of sex as a "need" here often gets misconstrued because both parties are debating with a different foundation for it as an understanding. Naysayers being on the more literal end and proponents on an all encompassing end as it relates to relationships, mental/physical health, etc. What is my point, you ask? I don't really have one. Just needed to voice this out.

By inherently I just meant as a roundabout overall answer. I think certain aspects are individualistic and not unique specifically to gender. Mental being one of them. Others that are not related to physical attributes I would state are more heavily influenced by extrinsic factors. I digress though. I had a longer worded response to this that went greater into dissecting this topic, but I'm mainly just on here as a lurker, plus I agree with some of your sentiments, and just wanted to initially v…

I made one of the early and most fence sitter comments I could tolerably and sensitively make on this post when it was initially shared on the world news sub and naturally proceeded to get downvoted to oblivion without any discussion. Society’s inability to even entertain this idea as a topic is one reason why men’s mental health will never be taken seriously.
/r/MensRights10/07/24 10:39 PM

Last sentence is extremely ironic given the subject matter of this post and the character of those it typically entails. But I guess that’s obvious considering your tone towards it all lol. Sad asl.

Bro you win 80% of the battle at being tall alone. Being in shape on top of that is just a double multiplier at that point. As far as getting a foot in the door somewhere goes you can't lose.

The demand for porn is the byproduct of a multi-faceted complex problem that ties directly into said desperation for women. In other words and if I’m understanding your question correctly, the correlation that because men seek out porn, they should logically in turn just as equally be motivated to seek out real world women, is just simply not how that investment works. Thus circling back to the primary point of porn consumption being the byproduct.

As far as I'm aware, at least in NA, it pretty much goes that if you're a single dude you'd have greater odds of making 1st SFOD-D than you would adopting a boy or girl. That being said, on one hand as a dude that used to want to look into adoption I can see where these organizations are coming from, but on the other hand if anything that speaks more on the overall system being a failure to me, than it does men by in large. There's more than enough examples of cases involving abuse committed by …

I understand what you're getting at. My point however was not that it's causing it per se, it's just largely exposing and by the notion of group think would be encouraging it. The sentiment about the given behavior of such women being existent prior to the implementation of social media is objectively true, but that goes back to my point about exposure. I'm not sure if that point needs to be expanded upon as it's pretty self-explanatory, but exposure drives the narrative and only increases the o…

Our cultural, and even biological, bias towards women is deeply ingrained in us. And current technological advancements originally intended to expand our social networking capabilities have indeed exacerbated this issue. So I'm not quite sure what the point of this post is. The tech that influences and drives the culture itself isn't going to go away so why wouldn't dudes highlight what is debatably NOW the biggest influence?

Been going to therapy for on-going 4 years now. In most cases I only advise it if one does NOT live in America or can reasonably afford it if so. I thankfully don't have to pay for my sessions, but I do get the bill and in my area at least (AZ) a single session tends to hover around $600-800 depending on where you go. Putting aside the actual debatable benefits to it all. Primary reason I even still attend is because it's free and it's nice to have an outlet to vent.

Max Payne said it best. “I’m not slipping man. I’m slipped.” Pretty much nothing has gone to plan personally or universally speaking in regard to average milestones (29yr old). On the bright side, going through abnormal strife in contrast to one’s peers, makes it easier in the long run to accept not reaching typical goals. I’ve almost entirely stopped comparing myself to the average individual.

Why is there always this odd disconnect that the way in which people portray themselves online via simple binary, that has been programmed to formulate itself into comprehensible words on screen, is exactly how those same aforementioned people that have not in the slightest manner visibly demonstrated how they appear, is also exactly how they conduct themselves in the real world?

Already been on the mental health journey for a hot minute, but I appreciate the kind sentiments either way. I will also simply have to agree to disagree due to having been in the space for years prior to it making mainstream discussion and full well knowing fellow individuals both online and in the real world who do not at all meet the stereotypical definition. I would argue outside of your immediate circle, family, friends, or otherwise, most people are indifferent to one another’s struggles. The exception being unless said issue is actively occurring within their immediate vicinity or before their very eyes. Add gender into the mix, especially with how males and females experience this playthrough we call life differently, and you may as well be comparing two entirely separate species. In short, if it’s not directly affecting or occurring before them…

I abhor how it took the “I” word entering mainstream media and pop culture vernacular, for people to start noticing and discussing this particular issue in the dating market seriously. When that certain sect was preaching it for years prior. Now all of a sudden data isn’t absurd or ignored.

Other than people being apprehensive towards me (which could be perceived as a positive depending on the person), I cannot think of any social dynamics based situation where being a black male has had a positive supporting role like influence. I could just not be thinking hard enough though.

Not at all justifying the response, especially since I would be categorized as one of these guys, but this is because a man’s worth to women is tied directly to how desirable he is by other women. I know I’m preaching to the choir with that statement, but it explains their disapproval of this method. Personally speaking I’m more understanding of why my fellow man would opt not to disclose said information. I wouldn’t go about that route just because I’d rather be upfront and know I wouldn’t be c…

Fair. Still no on the financial backing outright. I have adblock on everything. Guess we could argue semantics and say the numerical follower digit contributes all the same, but I digress. My major point being this is a losing war. Not even a battle in the slightest and the issue with the "porn is free" statement that often gets used in the advocacy against the more egregious simps, oversimplifies the underlying issue at hand.
/r/MensRights25/01/23 08:00 AM

This is a losing war with an argument that can't be had for a couple reasons, but I respect the advocacy of the message all the same. Speaking as somebody that loosely follows tons of women online, but does not financially back any.

men are not in crisis. Definitely respect the overarching message you put out, just wanted to highlight this tidbit, because I think it fails to address the fact that most of these men will at one point or another be in crisis.
