I only have gone to movies alone in the last 25+ years. Lots of guys are the same. Sometimes I'm the only person in the whole theater, a private showing. I don't do concerts, but the two I've been to were alone. I went to "The Book of Mormon" alone, and next to me was another loner guy (and in front of me a lone woman which was unusual, but I also occasionally come across women by themselves at movies).

Well I'm sure some guys, at least early in dating/relationships, view it as somewhat transactional - nice meal in exchange for sex. Today, though, even that idea of owing a man anything seems to be under assault. Yet we are expected to owe women the luxury of paying for them.

If this is a real text conversation, it's pretty infuriating. Makes me almost glad I've never been on a date. I suspect my neighbor is using a guy partly for food. She's unemployed and clearly in a new relationship. A guy would be ashamed to date when he's not working, but for a woman it's perfectly acceptable.

In Western society we have people and groups that STRIVE to be victims, to prove day in and day out how much of a victim they are. They don't actually want not to be victims because victimhood is power today. That is what the dangerous ideas of socialism represent - a harnessing of this perceived victimhood to create a monstrous, intrusive State which makes true victims out of the whole country.
