Traditional (i.e. monogamous and indissoluble) marriage allowed a reproductive equilibrium where both man and woman would spend together their best years (women got married somewhere in their 20s, at their SMV peak point) and men had to share their wealth and higher status during the woman's winter years. 29	It's funny because it's true. Same sex couples oft don't share their assets--they have separate property. Shared assets is a relic of Roman Law, and then Christian Law, when marriage entailed a very deep network of rights/duties for both parties. It made sense in the days of old, when dad was the breadwinner and mom stayed at home and took care of children and the elderly. I would like to have kids, but not under the current family law system.
