I wouldn't call this misandry. It seems to be homophobia disguised as anti-misogyny

I wouldn't say "not being a sex offender" but I've learned that women usually view men higher if other women they know like them, like a "trusted one" dynamic. Personally I hate that. For some reason they are just inherently skeptical of men? Just seems like sexism. Of course not all women are like this. Far from it. I was part of a group in high school that had only me, one other dude, and just women. Well the other dude turned out to be a major creep, so he was kicked out. I think that specifi…

As a woman, I want everyone here to know that as a man, I would spend all of my time making women happy. Absolutely no bias here whatsoever

Not defending the app, just curious. From what I found online, the phone number lookup only gives you their information if they're a registered sex offender. You can already look through sex offender databases for all of that information, so it's nothing crazy. Wouldn't call it a doxxing feature unless I'm mistaken about how it works.

If you think "I hate black people" is problematic, then read this 👇 When someone says "I hate black people" it's because they've largely had negative experiences with black people. "But it's not all black people!" I know. But it's a lot (Many of us have amazing black coworkers, classmates, friends, etc.) And the sentiment underlying is that we don't know which black people are SAFE (people say this to indicate how UNSAFE we feel around black people). So if you become reactive— you start yelling …

Sorry, let me elaborate. "Working hard" may have not been the best choice of words - I'm more specifically referring to people who don't want to go into higher education or get high-earning careers. Socialism is a part that wouldn't require you to do so. Conservatives really push the agenda of "We're gonna fix EVERYTHING in the economy" while I feel the left has been a bit more honest with the fact that issues take a long time to fix. The economy is always doing better when a leftist president i…

I also think conservatism appeals to people who don't intend on working hard. There's a significant gap between men and women entering higher education. The left has such a focus on identity politics and whatnot that they kind of implicitly suggest that you can easily work through the economy and we shouldn't focus on that. I'm aware that the left HAS historically done well for the economy - I'm just saying that they don't put it out as a priority. If men are entering education less, then they'r…

It strikes me as fake too based on the language being all like "But the EVIL women ruined everything while being big hypocrites!" I've just noticed that anytime I call something fake in this subreddit, I get downvoted, so I'm trying to give people the benefit of the doubt unless I would look equally as stupid for doing so.

I think you have some terrible friends dude. I've never met a woman in my life who would get mad if a guy said "goddamn" over seeing fucking Wonder Woman. Assuming this story is true, it sounds like they're super man-fearing and I don't know why you're friends with them. Most people, male or female, don't care about random "They're hot" comments and the worst it would get is a slight look of you said something outta pocket. Your female friends are legit not good people and you became friends wit…

I feel like the movie was supposed to send some sort of huge political feminist message but it ended up getting switched to more of that because it's more Hollywood-appropriate.

This movie confused me. The point in the end was that the Barbies were happier when there wasn't a patriarchy or a matriarchy, which, okay. But when the patriarchy happened, the Barbies seemed pretty happy. It was only when that other woman came in and started yelling about things that they suddenly decided they didn't like the Kens running things. I feel like the message ended up being that patriarchy is good. Did I miss something?

While I agree that I've always found it strange how feminists are okay with others being anti-men if it helps the movement while expecting men to help them anyway, I don't think that necessarily invalidates what OP said. It's wrong to put compliance on the same level as activity.

My main issue is actually none of what you described because I think most feminists are genuinely well-intentioned and, from my experience, most feminists do not personally hate men. I have friends who are feminists. Sometimes they disagree with my views. That's fine. I wouldn't consider any of my views to be adamantly anti-feminist, but whatever. Anyways, my main issue with feminism is the blurred lines of the movement. "Feminism" can mean 10 different things depending on where you look. Inters…

I remember reading a response to this phrase as "Well are women not allowed to decide who they want to get attraction from" and it really rubbed me the wrong way. Like yes you can reciprocate certain attraction, but don't villainize people if you don't reciprocate, and then complain about how no one is attracted to you. Come on.

When boys have a more difficult objective to win a game against girls What's funny is that it's also misogynistic lol On top of this, I remember my first time feeling any level of discrimination for being male came from when I would watch kids shows (mostly Disney Channel stuff) and they would always have an episode of boys vs. girls. Because these shows were usually centered around girls anyway, it meant that the girls would always win. It really irked me as a kid but I felt like I wasn't allow…

This is just a general issue with echo chambers. The most effective way to make your ideology look superior is to insult those who don't follow it, even if the insults aren't really applicable. It's not really even a feminist issue, more a general issue with society (thought not a new one at all). It happens in political spheres too. You're either a conservative or a communist. You're either a democrat or a bigot. You're either a feminist or an incel. It's a tactic to remove critical thought and…

Yeah this post strikes me as weird. This isn't some crazy take you only hear from feminists - the sentiment of Jenny not actually being the villain is a fairly common one I've heard a few times. The idea is that she projects her twisted understanding of love (that came from her abusive father) onto Forrest who doesn't know any better, but still has an inherent understanding of it. She learns and gets better throughout the movie as she navigates different life experiences and relationships. The w…

What's amazing is that feminists have a preconceived notion that this logic doesn't work because the woman must always be the victim. There are more firefighters that are men? Well that must be the patriarchy at work. There are more murderers that are men? Well surely that can't be chalked down to anything but biology. There's nothing about society that makes men violent, right? It's only biology when it's convenient for them :)

Women have a higher likelihood to perpetuate harmful ideas they were taught than men do - this shows a lot in 3rd world countries where the mother figure of the family is often the one teaching these things to the children while the man works. I want to say it's genetic because I can't really come up with another good explanation, but it seems like men care less about others following their values than women. Not a that a feminist would ever suggest such a thing.

This is a vague question. What are you referring to? Like people are just going out to attack men like they just saw a black person in the 1950s? No, I don't think so. But yes misandry is prominent among some sub-groups of feminists, if that's what you're asking. People are also more willing to attack a man than a woman but they'd need some other incentive to do so.

My point. Insurance companies charge basically whatever tf they want unchecked. Wouldn't be surprised at a lot of collusion happening between them.

Tbh insurance companies in general are a scam. Not saying it's fair that women pay less but I know why, and the fact that they do goes to show how stupid the whole concept is in the first place.

That's not even remotely what her shirt said, what? If she was wearing a shirt that said "No more men" then I might be able to see your point, but have you really never heard of a young girl being like "Girls are way cooler than boys, girls rule the world!"? This is not a new concept lol. She's a child doing childish things. I feel like you're the one who's delusional man. Young boys wear shirts like this too, and nobody ever gives a shit about it.

Indoctrination??? lol what??? They're children. My cousin did the same "girls are smart boys are dumb stuff" a lot, and my sister + other cousins who followed her didn't grow up to be raging misandrists. She's not being "groomed," she's just doing things that a lot of little kids do. They aren't old enough to experience attraction yet, so they tend to notice these groups and make jokes about why one is better. That's literally it. The girl will get older and forget about it. Yall are fighting th…

I would like to second this. Little kids do boys vs. girls stuff all the time. I did it when I was younger too. Never heard of boys rule, girls drool? It's not serious and no one would get mad if the gender was reversed either lol

Both the post and this comment hold a lot of valid truths and I think they can coexist. Recently, I had a very good female friend of mine ask me why I've never dated as she saw a lot in me. It wasn't the easiest question to answer because I know that the way that people think about autistic people played a massive role in it. I'm not some social butterfly, but I can usually handle myself pretty well socially, and for someone my age who takes care of himself and looks decent, that SHOULD theoreti…

You're missing the point. It's not about the punishment or pussy pass. It's about the fact that the media always uses euphemisms with women because they're scared to accuse a woman of "rape" due to radfems, or they simply don't view it as rape because of an underlying belief that men can't be raped. It pushes that idea so much that it sounds wrong when you use "rape" with a man.

I saw a video where this woman was like "teaching my son how to do abc so his future girlfriend doesn't have to deal with xyz," super cringe. One was like "teaching my son that women are sick for a week during the month so his future girlfriend doesn't have to deal with him calling her lazy" or whatever. Ah yes, because abusers simply don't understand what periods are. Let's end abuse guys!

Maybe. 1989 was a legendary album when it released, and her recent things deserve a lot of the praise they get (imo). Speak Now is really good. She does have a few albums that I think aren’t as good as people make them about to be, but I still think she’s one of the best artists of our generation outside of my preference.

I’m not a Taylor fan but I don’t get this argument. Feels weird to discredit her talent (especially with her newer music) just because she had a privileged childhood. Criticize her current actions. It doesn’t really matter if someone had a good childhood, that doesn’t make them less talented.

Nailed it. There are quite a few women that will immediately conclude things to misogyny when they absolutely aren’t. If a man asks for a pay raise and is denied, they assume their boss sucks or they didn’t deserve it. If a woman asks and denied, I feel like they often try to blame it on misogyny. The idea is so deeply rooted into so many woman’s minds due to media that it’s the first thing they go to. Sexism and misogyny is definitely real, but women blowing it out of proportion every time some…
