I’m dropping off my daughter in the morning for Mother’s Day. She will give her mom a Mother’s Day card. It’s not for me, it’s not from me. It’s for my daughter and from my daughter. I got her mom a Christmas present that was from my daughter that she gave her. I do not expect a card for Father’s Day and that is fine, I do not want one. My daughters mom is the worst person I know but my daughter deserve to be able to give her mom things.

I’m sorry dude, it sucks to be the one who gets left behind. I’m not going to be as blunt as others but they are right. There is a possibility that she has met someone else. You don’t want to sit in your misery and wait for her to come beach because she most likely won’t. And even if she does, do you want to be the second option? Get started with the process so that you are in the game because she most certainly already has done her research.

I can definitely relate. I hate that “you are so brave” saying. Do we tell the people running a marathon that they are brave when they drop out of the race? It’s easier for people to just divorce than actually work on it and therapists do no favors at all. My STXW therapist encouraged her from day one to get a divorce, not work on the marriage. Our life’s fall apart and they keep on living “their best life”. I do hope it catches up with them in the end though and come to a realization that they …

I took time to find someone I knew would do a good job for me depending on my situation. I asked around about her attorney and heard that she is one that goes on the offense and like to stir shit up, I also knew that my STBXW most likely would not settle before trial and come with accusations against me. So I knew I needed someone who had experience facing her attorney and is good at litigation. I ended up with one that calls me out on my bs if I let my emotions take over, and he has proven hims…

F that. The only thing I do that I genuinely don’t want to do is go to work!

Deleted all the pictures of IG. Once a memory shows up on FB I delete the post. Blocked her on all social media. I want nothing to do with this woman, the only thing she has given me is my beautiful daughter.

What about asking her if she is willing to move to that state as well? That way the child doesn’t need to grow up without either parent. In my opinion a child needs both parents, unless there is abusive towards the child. I despise my STBXW but I would not try to take our daughter away from her. My daughter wouldn’t forgive me for that when she got older.

I beat a protection order in court this morning! It was a train wreck from start to finish and the judge dismissed it without me even having to take the stand OR my attorney getting the chance to ask my STBXW questions. If you are going to make shit up you better think about what you are going to say and have your lawyer in on it!

I did. It backfired and my STBXW AP broke up with her. Now instead of focusing her attention on him she is doing what she can to fuck me over because I ruined her “relationship”.

Thank you sir! I will ruin myself financially before I let her take my daughter away from me!

Wanted a female but ended up with a male. Went with him because 4 other attorneys said that he is one of the best litigation lawyers they know and I know this is going to court.

If I wouldn’t have any kids, any gifts I would have bought would end up in the trash.

I got my soon to be ex a gift that is from my 2 year old daughter. I want my daughter to learn the importance of giving and not just receiving. When my ex drops my daughter off tomorrow morning I will give the gift to my daughter and have her give it to my soon the be ex. My ex is satan himself but my daughter is more important than my feelings.

I don’t see a reason why he would lie about that stuff. He has no reason to do that. To call someone up and apologize for banging their wife takes balls.

Not worth it dude. I have had a gun to my head a few times but never pulled the trigger. It takes time but it gets better. That’s a fucking promise!

When I don’t have my kid? Yoghurt and granola. When I have my kid I try to make nutritious food for her sake. If I’m in a rush I make tacos, easy, goes fast and she loves it.

Call the cops and have her arrested, then file a TRO against her. That with everything else will definitely work in your favor. Once you start the divorce process you will regret it if you didn’t do it. Once you start the divorce process she will try to get back at you, might even accuse you of some bs. If you file a TRO first then you will have the upper hand.

I asked the EXACT same questions. “For what?”. You will never get an answer dude, and if you get one it will be a lie. Get a divorce, it won’t get better. You won’t work it out. You will never be able to trust her again, you will never be able to look at the the same way again. Just be mindful of what you do and say or you will run into the same issues I did, becoming the scapegoat. My STBX couldn’t stand the fact of being the wrong doing part so she went around on a smear campaign making me out…

She tried to get me out of the home. I said f that and even stayed in the master bedroom while she stayed in one of the spare bedrooms. She moved out eventually and instead of a 3 min drive to work and her gym she now drives 45min one way to get to work, go to the gym, see friends etc. You cheated, you can move, I’m not going anywhere!

Mine lives through our daughter. Always showing her off, tells everyone how great our daughter is. Get validation from people saying how smart, strong and cute our daughter is. It makes me sad because now when she is barely 2 years it’s fine but once she gets older and might not be able to meet my ex’s high standards I’m worried that my ex will take it out on her. Ofc I want my kid to do good in everything she does but I don’t care if she don’t compete in the Olympics or is a straight A student,…

I try to look at it this way. I’m happy I got out at 35 and not 55. I still got a chance to find love again and maybe have another kid (ex refused to have more than one). I still got the chance to find someone who appreciates me for who I am. I still got a chance to be loved the way I love. Trying to look at it from another angle than all the misery I’m going through right now!

I feel you. My second Father’s Day and with a divorce coming up. My family is in another country and I doubt my stxw will do anything for me. I don’t really have any advice but I’m just going to try to enjoy my day with my daughter and do the things she like because that is what brings me joy in life and what would be a better Father’s Day than watching her have a great day?

Tough one. I think everyone deserves to know but it’s a personal choice if you want to tell or not.

I know it has been a short amount of time. But you NEED to take care of yourself. As you said, you are now a single dad. It might not end up that way but you need to plan for it. Right now your son only has one parent, and of you don’t take care of yourself he will have none. Eat even if you can’t, force it down. Go lay in bed when you usually go to bed, even if it takes hours to fall asleep you will probably get an hour or two in the end. You need to talk to a lawyer and a therapist.

I’m going to be blunt because my mom was an alcoholic. If your daughters point out that you have a drinking problem then you have a drinking problem. They would not do that if the drinking didn’t affect them. So what’s more important in life? Alcohol or your daughters? Seek help or you might end up losing your daughters.

Not divorced yet but I’m on my way to. I’m the person who has always done everything for her. And I mean everything. I know she will struggle being alone but it was her choice to get a divorce. I have explained to her that she needs to start taking care of things herself because once we are done and I’m out of the house then I will NOT go help her unless it’s about our daughter.

I’m about to turn 36. My soon to be ex wife cheated on me and we are in the process of figuring everything out. I know I shouldn’t be thinking about dating yet, that I need to get the divorce over with, work on myself and get past what happened between us two. But after being neglected, hurt, feeling so unwanted and unloved I just want to feel what love feels again. And it scares the shit out of me thinking about dating. I grew up in Europe and have never dated in the US. So I don’t know what to…
