But how does it matter? Your happiness is contingent on maintaining a healthy relationship right? Sure, less people may find you attractive than someone else, but I don’t see how this means you can never be happy in a relationship?

Sure, ok I’ll replace “any” with “many” in my original comment to avoid generalizing.

These people are dumb. Of course men and women can be friends. People with similar interests and tastes tend to become friends. Some amount of the variance in interests is accounted for by gender/culture which is why friend groups tend to be somewhat gender/culturally imbalanced. But that doesn’t mean friendships don’t form across those lines. In fact, a significant minority of friendships are between opposite genders. My guess would be like 35-40%?

You can choose to separate the two if you want. For millions of other people, the two go hand in hand. A life partner is, first and foremost, a friend. Ask any happily married person.

Stupid comment. There’s nothing whatsoever that’s lacking about you, physically or otherwise. Be the version of yourself you want to be, because you’ll be happier and more confident that way. Not because some girl will be impressed by it.

Yes. I think a lot of people on this thread don’t have real friends or understand what a truly secure friendship feels like. Which is sad.

No one is out of your league. You are worth a million dollars. Tell the people you like you like them. Be a good friend to your friends. Be the shining, confident star that you are. And don’t overthink anything. In a hundred years, you’ll be dead and absolutely none of it will matter.

Wrong framing, the real question is why might you want to date someone you’re friends with? And there are many possible valid answers to that one.

Attraction is subjective. That isn’t a cope. It’s objective reality. Yes, some people are more conventionally attractive than others. But it’s absurd to me how people think that people can’t have different romantic tastes when they have different tastes in art, music, theater, etc. Don’t be ridiculous.

Disagree. Asking a friend out on a date is a low risk endeavor, because both people are secure in the friendship (if you’re not then please don’t ask anyone out). There’s no reason to stop being friends because one person asked the other out.

No. Not everyone is extremely good at reading things like that, and that’s ok. We deserve love respect and honesty regardless. If attraction isn’t mutual, that’s ok. Nothing wrong with anything done by either side.

You realize asking a question like this only invites incel/blackpill trolls right? I think your entire approach to friendships and relationships and probably life in general is flawed based on this question. First of all, if you don’t find yourself attractive, you shouldn’t be asking anyone out. You need to love yourself, not just to cope with rejection but because what the fuck else is the point of life? You are much more likely to have successful friendships and relationships if you’re a ten i…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
