Almost 1 yr after. Feel like she was the best thing I could ever hope for and what's the point going on now? After my divorce at 37 I had the best period of dating in my life. Your results may differ but I found dating with me being more mature than my early 20s was so much more satisfying. I had so much fun. I took some time then I got out there when I was ready. I also ran and took up hobbies. Found myself again. It was very intentionally done | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/11/25 03:52 PM
Ex is engaged and I see her playbook and my former role in this man in front of my eyesYou can be good and strong equally. Sacrificing good for strong leads to shitty behavior imo | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/11/24 07:16 PM

Wedding pics at dad’s houseAfter the pandemic I went back to the office and sent my entire family on our text stream a message with a picture of my office with the caption, "It's finally nice to be back in the office." In the bottom corner of the picture was my desk garbage can and the framed desktop picture of my ex sticking out. It still cracks me up to this day. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/12/23 09:22 AM

Advice to men: It is very difficult or impossible to recover financially from a divorce after a long marriage, you are almost always better off hiding assets and risking a penalty vs certainty of lower living standard for the rest of your lifeI believe so | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/03/23 01:31 PM

My wife separated from me last night.I don't know your situation but it took a divorce for me to quit drinking. 10 years later (and sober) I'm much better for it. In my 30s it progressively got worse to a point where it was very difficult to control. Hiding it is a sign of a problem. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/22 06:09 PM

I was served last week and just hired a lawyer. How long does this process take if you just stay in mediation?"She's made it clear that she's getting the house and custody of the two kids. Her dad has much deeper pockets than me and will open up the checkbook." So? | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/22 07:28 PM
Should my wife keep my name if she wants to divorce me?I'm having trouble understanding your situation. Am I reading this correctly that you both changed your last name to a different last name than what you each had before the marriage? And the name you both changed it to was your great grandmother's last name on your mom's side? | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/22 07:26 PM
Need InputI am so sorry for what you are going through. I'm not sure this subreddit is the best place for you as it is largely a support group for divorcing/divorced men that often encourage splitting up. That's not always the best advice. I help support my mother and father, who has had Parkinson's (PD) for the past two decades. I highly HIGHLY recommend leveraging a PD forum / support group and talk to your doctor. Pursue therapy with a PD capable therapist/psychiatrist. You have a long road ahead of yo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/05/22 08:02 PM
Need a bit of advice...I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. Work with her sensitively to see if you can develop an amicable separation agreement. Use that to file uncontested in Washington. If it is super easy path to that agreement and you both agree you could even do it completely by mail in Washington state (no court visit) and a number of attorneys will prep a completely by mail uncontested divorce for a few hundred bucks. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/05/22 11:27 PM
r/Divorce really is basically all women who excommunicate and ridicule men, or any suggestions we may give.I'm not defending the person replying or the subreddit. I'm nearly fifty and have dated, and lived with, a number of women through my life. They were all largely awesome. That said, I've never had a more consistent disagreement, or argument, when it comes to house cleaning. I've found inexpensive housekeepers and when I've lived on my own, they've been *fantastic* and save me tons of time. When I've lived with someone romantically, I've repeatedly had resistance to a housekeeper for reasons I do… | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/04/22 12:43 AM
Do people regret getting divorced?Getting divorced is usually a complex, emotionally traumatic situation for everyone involved. Distilling it down to 'regret' is often an oversimplification of that complexity. I think a better question is how many who initiate divorce, over time, end up in objectively worse situations (financial, emotional, mental health, etc) than they were before the divorce? I think that happens a lot, for a lot of reasons. I am guessing that most, if not all, initiators of divorce underestimate the toll it t… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/04/22 05:22 PM
