Once overtime is removed, the pay gap almost completely vanishes. I wonder if I'm among the minority of men that put in 10-20 hours of overtime a week; but even as a minority, this "fringe" can obviously impact the entire population and results bigly.

Can't fight nature forever. Second Law of Thermodynamics suggests that artificially propping up conditions takes up so much more energy and eventually entropies down to a simpler, more natural level. This is especially true in a time and place where stresses are increasing and income are decreasing for everyone: e.g. the modern West.

I think its fair to say that no one really exists in isolation, and certainly no one seems to succeed very well from isolation.

One of the most effective and realistic ways is to model the behavior - live in a sustainable way, show that you're happy, and then advertise it. As a 'via-positiva' method, this is probably the most effective and least costly. I think what you're doing is by far the best way, and probably one of the most satisfying ways, because growing something and being part of nature, at least to me, has been amazing fulfilling. The other is what we Neoreactionaries call "virtue signaling" where you run tog…

Religion is known for its contradictions, this is the same for the "progressive" faith. That study got its results from some beautiful distortion of evidence and isn't really worth taking seriously.

Its of my firm belief that religion has never really gone away, it just morphed into another form of ideology over the years, the most recent incarnation being the Cult of Equality is Identical.

I love how the anti-fa are so pro women, that they proceeded to beat up and mace a woman trying to listen to Milo. And they documented it on video, proudly.

I've always been amused by the idea of equality as a meme and have often wondered how much of it is due to the limitations of the language. Absolute equality, as the feminist argues, is equality of outcomes but that's not possible unless people were exactly identical. Women and men aren't exactly identical. And it'll be pretty disturbing if we were all identical anyway, since that's the highlight of turning us into interchangeable industrial gears. Just apply veneer of face, internals are all th…

I think he overgeneralizes, but I disagree on the notion that anonymous people forming loose organizations can't make for significant change. Sure, there's a lot of power in coherence and I do actually believe the Red is forming a small but influential bloc of coherent action. But don't underestimate the weaknesses of having a "solid organization" - the Cathedral of the Blue has had decades of learning on how to destroy it. They will destroy your job, your reputation and if they can't do that, t…

I credit the writer for being willing to take on an interesting, and controversial perspective. I disagree with her somewhat that friends aren't necessary "for safety" after a certain age; sure, there's physical safety but that isn't usually the threat these days. I think friends help, or should help, as a form of psychological safety and barrier, that in theory, they should share your values and implicit understanding such that they can be mutually supportive. Of course, these days with our ato…

I think its an interesting ideology. Equality is an interesting ideology and should be given its due respect. It has some useful governing features. But that's the thing with ideologies. They're ideas, they're concepts, and don't necessarily have to connect with reality. Feminism is much like that, its an ideology that has become extremely forced into reality, even when it fails empirically. I mean, its not like everything about Orthodox Christianity has proved completely and absolutely ideal af…

Eh, its still possible but I acknowledge the economy has changed. I've managed it relatively well myself as the sole breadwinner and though my income is higher than normal, I should note that my wife being at home saves us a lot of money as well. From my perspective, there's an insufficient number of women who are willing to trust men and be feminine. Perhaps there's some error in sorting and meeting. I know for certain that I grew up with parents that encouraged me to focus on my career because then I could focus on dating; they were very traditional and expected the world would also be such. I ended up being alone for far longer than I would have liked, and do believe that at least part of my bitterness is that I tried to participate i…

No, there are actual examples of autocratic governments running surpluses - but not one of democracies. There can be other arguments against autocracies but basically evidence shows that its the only form of government that given gives the possibility of consistent surpluses. Even "democratic" governments tend to be illusionary, with the actual power given to large unelected bureaucracy. I do agree to some extent that monarchies fall victim to human nature - first, because centralization of powe…

My wife is many years younger than me and there hasn't been any particular issues with generation gaps. The main differences have been some issues with pop culture references and knowledge: stuff such as Pokemon, video games, and the like. But on the order of things that we agree on and overall cooperate on, it seems to be pretty minor. I'll say it has worked out pretty well for us. She was 19 and I was 25 when we were married, for what it is worth.

Neoreactionaries tend to have a dim view of democracy, and Unqualified Reservations goes into it in depth but basically every real democracy eventually will slowly self-destruct as a majority will keep voting for social benefits, accumulating ever larger debts and having poor long-term planning. This has indeed been true of every democracy.

I actually blame chemicals in the water that cause hormonal effects and affect the natural development of masculinity during pregnancy. Its not as crazy as it sounds, it has cause severe damage to animals already. I disagree. The recent election has shown an amazing degree of SJWness centered around media organs. I don't think this is a good idea. I'll briefly mention my own experience with this - I was in a stable marriage and became friends with another girl, who was in a significantly more stable mental state than the ones she suggested. This other girl, L, suggested polygamy and said it was because she wanted a "sister wife" and thought that since I was Chinese, I might be more accepting of it. I talked to my wife about it, and she was willing to try it and also liked the idea of a "sister wife." In …

"Men expect a woman to have an equal degree and to contribute financially." I'm immediately suspect of this conclusion of the study from the presupposition; I would hazard casually that this isn't true of at least 33% of men, which makes the generalizing statement to be very dubious. I've been pretty dubious of social science lately because like all science, its prone to influence by the researchers who seek a certain outcome, but due to issues in replication, its been far worse. The "unbearable…

This isn't the place to argue or debate it, I agree - but while it should be able equality of opportunity, it really has left it and the notion of a "silent majority" is doubtful to me, having studied mass movements. For better or worse, the mass tends to lean toward the more extreme fringes one way or another. For what it is worth, my wife has pretty severe chronic fatigue syndrome and it isn't an issue. I can totally sympathize with life being better when you're not alone - I was very much like that, and I am still very much like that. "Today this stereotype is distorted, it means a kind of girl idealistic, soft, old-fashioned, wearing vintage clothes, sentimental, poetic and subtle, living in her dreams… she has some difficulties to live in the contemporary world." I don't think so, really. As they say, its important to consider who considers you younger as well - for example, a gentleman in his 60s may very well consider you to be younger and will be able to create a connection that he wouldn't be able to find in someone else. On a personal ancedote: I was deeply in love with a woman when I was in my teenage years and she was almost twenty years older - she simply behaved in a very feminine way, and by being so unabashed about it, she stood out to me. While Evola is a great writer and has many interesting ideas - and I read him quite a bit, I think its worthwhile to note that many of his ideas were essentially religious/spiritual in nature and not entirely practical. Hahah. Its that in cultures where social pressure/context is already so important, its much harder for an feminist identity group to suddenly gain the reins of power as it did in the West. In essence, SJWs argue for a kind of harmony - but Confucian culture is already about harmony. So by already being focused on that to some extent, its very difficult for SJWs to find further root, and they face much more effective barriers through the indirect conflict method - prevents them from playing victi…

I think its the financial stability part that might be a large portion of it; I'm not sure. For what it is worth, I married my wife when she was 19 after living together for one year, and we managed it pretty well. I'm quite a bit older, but while we were stable, we were nothing like being prosperous until the last two years(after being married for 5 years). I'm Chinese and one of the jokes I've heard is that we're post-SJWism. We've already reached maximum realistic consensual based behavior. I find it promising that accomplished women there rarely seem to be trying to push a feminist agenda, simply want to live their lives as normal without inference. This is even more rare in China, and makes me suspect that democracies give identity groups enormous power that more meritocratic(or networking Confucian?) governments do not.

You do come off as a bit intimidating - as a man, I would have to work with some difficulty to find out how to justify how I could be "the hero" to you, if I found you attractive, etc. I suspect like a lot of traditional men, I feel very competitive and it would be a pain if mentally I felt threatened at home. That said, it seems like I could feel fine if you didn't out earn me as well. Its just that vulnerability is very attractive. Conversely, it feels like safety from this side.

No problem. Well, the saying goes that "Women labor with beauty, men labor with strength." Its an idealized traditional outlook. In practice, most poor women even in the past worked at home or a little bit around. Even before mass production, for example, yarn was still being spun, clothes were still being made, and the like as its even referred to in the Bible. Nonetheless, the ideal obviously was not to labor and this was certainly accomplished with the aristocratic women - in extreme examples…

I believe that you might have misunderstood the notion of RPW. No path would work if it primarily created unhappiness in half of its group; indeed, it would be hard enough to imagine how it could ever become "societally acceptable" regardless of any assumption of power - as the saying goes, government only exists at the consent of the governed.
