6	regret of marriage Agreed. I escaped a situation similar to OPs. It was an arranged marriage (still done in my culture) but the thought process was very similar. Couldn't trust myself. Wanted parents approval yadda yadda. I escaped that situation in a few months. Thanks to Reddit. Now I've met a wonderful man and I'm focusing on my career. 1	Do you guys pay for drinks/dessert after he pays for dinner? I think you should give him a chance and see how he behaves on a later date. I would think an HVM might say yes to you paying for drinks as he might think constant no would hurt your pride.
