I might be biased as someone with way more female friends than male, but I always start out treating Tinder dates like it's an interview for a new friend. Most of the time it escalates, but if you put it all on the table right off the bat and don't lead anyone on, I've been able to stay good friends with the majority of women I've dated. Be aware that you likely will be gossiped about, especially if you start rubbing anyone the wrong way, but sometimes it's good gossip. Also if you fail to notic…

that's really interesting. do you think this is objectively true, or is your sample size small, and perhaps your network is a little bit of an echo chamber? this isn't critique or me discounting what you're saying; I'm genuinely curious how solid you feel the statement is, because my running theory is that we're all herding ourselves subconsciously into echo chambers these days. I remember thinking everyone was swinging more libertarian with me back in 2006, but when I took a few steps back and …

We're the same age and I had the same experience. I'm a naturally optimistic, warm and open person. I kept finding myself on dates with the most jaded millennial women until I broadened my horizons and started to talk to, and genuinely take seriously, the ones that use slang which felt odd to me and said "dumb" things 1.2% of the time. I never looked down on younger women, I guess i used to just assume they had more to learn before I'd be interested? And while yes, they're still learning.. so mu…

Honestly... I'm ass at breaking the ice and use dating apps as a huge crutch, but I ace basically any date once I'm one on one in person with an established idea of topics they're interested in. I also like to filter potentials based on their interests and especially MBTI personality type, which is a system I know exceptionally well (always best to know Cognitive Functions and do your own typing of people since the tests online suck). Because while ONS stuff can be fun.. at this point I really p…

I want to say.. the real trick here is being a really stand up guy with excellent communication skills. Between therapy, studying Buddhism, meditation, and most importantly the years spent in long term relationships.. I'm comparatively very skilled in my emotional intelligence. If I had spent all of that time single and being a fuck boy, I'd probably still have difficulty with it all.. but now instead I'm the well established older guy that listens to my partners in ways they're totally unused t…

way easier. somehow all of the smoking hot college aged girls that used to pay me no mind are obsessively into my shit now at 37. edit: all of the extra attention I got started for me at 30-31.
