Being good looking honestly helps a lot. In addition to what people say, fix your looks, unless you're already good looking. Get a haircut that suits you, have good hygiene, dress nicely, fix posture, shave your face and body (unless you have or plan to have a nice beard, just keep it nice). Guides to all of this on youtube if you don't know where to start.
