This Sunday I made noodle soup with red curry and coconut, a dish from a free cooking magazine at the supermarket. My fiancé helped with parts of the cooking, but I was happy to have done most of the dish myself as we usually make food together. The dish turned out to be a bit too hot, however he enjoyed it quite a lot so this was a success for me! He even ate the remaining food today and still enjoyed it. Next time I make it I’ll have to figure out how to reduce the spice level.

Oh, how fun that you are familiar with the site! :) You are welcome, I am very happy my comment had a positive effect on you regarding this matter. I hope you will only have a positive experience if you try ordering clothes from them, so size checking, review reading and just generally asessing whether or not a brand is good or not would be handy "tools" to employ. I have the impression that they are very serious, and so if one were to have a legitimately bad experience (and not just that someon…

Much text incoming: I think that whether or not some of the things on these lists are appropriate or inappropriate to have in ones home depends on where you live. To provide an example, big/room sized rugs are not much loved where I'm from, and thus most homes have the apparently dreaded bare wooden floors accompanied with smaller rugs (if any at all) mentioned in the first list. :) Also, making your bed first thing in the morning is not recommended for sanitary reasons I can't quite translate i…

I'm a bit late to the party, but I thought I could share anyway. Due to the lack of my kind of preferred feminine clothing where I live, I shop at YesStyle.com. It's an asian site, and they have many different brands and styles (and prices). They have regular sales - shoes, makeup, clothes, bags, you name it. Given that you say to think dresses and skirts, I believe this site could be up your ally - my experience is that asian women are generally better at embracing their femininty than western …

You have already recieved great advice, but I'll still give you my two cents. Concerning discipline with your diet, I would recommend taking baby steps. Do you drink, say, four cans of soda a day? Start by cutting that down to three and drink more water instead. Then cut further down until you get to where you want to be. The same goes with food. If you go too hard on yourself you might lose the motivation to change. Maybe continue eating what you eat now if your diet is not too healthy, and foc…

When you say things are going to fundamentally change in the next few years for the worse in Western Europe, would you mind elaborating on that? Or are those changes perhaps not relevant to the topic at hand?

This book seems very interesting. But something on Wikipedia made me wonder; the original 1936 edition had a list of twelve things the book would do for you, but why does the 1981 edition omit point 6, 7, 8 and 11 from said list? I include them here; Enable you to win new clients, new customers. Increase your earning power. Make you a better salesman, a better executive. Make the principles of psychology easy for you to apply in your daily contacts. Are they not relevant any longer? I think they…

Might the young, pretty woman who was brave enough to tell about what happened to her friends have been shot down purely because she's white? Most of the audience/panelists seem to think poorly of "white people", so I couldn't help but wonder about this.

Yes, I do - but I chose to not include it in my post since I believe most people here do not know Norwegian or other, similar languages that would enable them to read it fresh from the source. However, if you're still interested, the article is here: http://www.vg.no/forbruker/menn-som-gjoer-husarbeid-har-mindre-sex/a/23354604/ :)

This made me think of the quote "Happiness is a choice, not a destination". I searched for it and found something very similar, apparently quoted by a man called Paul H. Dunn. I'll share it as I think it fits well in here; "Happiness is a journey, not a destination; happiness is to be found along the way not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it's too late. The time for happiness is today not tomorrow."

I wear nothing to bed (no matter how cold it is!) and neither does my SO. I used to wear boxers and oversized t-shirts, but he convinced me long ago to stop. I'm happy he did, because the extra skin on skin is amazing.

Oh my, this book loks wonderful! (Or, should I say "glorious"?) Judging from the pages shown, the content seems to fit both young girls and women alike. And such a gorgeous cover design! Why can't all books today be made with such attention to detail? Thank you very much for sharing - now I just have to wait for this work day to be over so that I can find out where on the Internet to buy it! Edit: grammar

Oh, I see. I focused mostly on what Mr Bennet was thinking rather than Elizabeth, thank you for pointing it out. :)

it would break his heart to see that flame in her go out. I knew he loved her most, but I never really thought about that this is what he might have meant. I just thought no respect = no happines, not that the no happiness part could be caused by her lively disposition not being appreciated and thus lead to her changing as a person. Thank you for writing this, now I like this part of the book even more than I did before! :)

Hm... perhaps? I'm not sure, because when it comes to Elizabeth, I think all that Mr Bennet truly cares for is her happiness and her staying the way she is. If she truly believes that a man can make her happy and take care of her, then he wouldn't care what his SMV was. (The SMV of Mr Darcy is of very high, however.) I never thought of this as a possibility, to be honest. I mostly thought that little or no respect would lead to little or no happiness.

I'm happy I made this post, because I really like what you wrote! I didn't mean to imply that he thought her too headstrong, as I know he likes her qualities very much, so sorry for not quite getting my thoughts across on that. Indeed, Mr Wickham would have been a bad match for her, as would Mr Collins. I agree with this. A woman should never have to dumb herself down, thank you for mentioning that - it helped me better understand the "unequal marriage" part in the sentence. I don't know if you …

I can't remember seeing an income of forty thousand a year mentioned in the book. Mr Darcy has ten thousand a year, and Mr Bingley has four to five thousand a year. The closest number to forty thousand I can remember is Miss Georgiana Darcy's inheritance of thirty thousand. (Here is an overview if you're interested.)

I second the good container system, especially the bento boxes. Depending on it's amount of tiers and their size, you can have an exciting several course lunch that's actually rather big. I believe most of (if not all?) bento boxes are microwave friendly. If you decide to jump into the world of bento then there is so much inspiration and help out there to get you started, from Japan in particular.

I never imagined my post could affect someone like that. I appreciate your thanks, and I also thank you for telling about your similar situation. I see now that what happened to me is not that unusual. Your SO's idea of having you work to pay the debt was really good since it had such positive effects and results for you. It's interesting how easily others can misinterpret a situation so gravely. I also felt the desire to display our relationship more accurately, and I understood that I must bec…

I didn't think of it in the way you explain here. I thought their feeling his withdrawal from them made them fear he would do a similar/worse withdrawal from me, not that said withdrawal could cause me to distance myself from them. But that makes sense. I am the first kid to leave the nest, so maybe they are having a hard time with that? And my SO is from another country, maybe my moving now makes it seem more likely that I could end up in another country one day. Oh yes, what was said was like …

I see what you mean. My actions and reasoning shows that I was very foolish. I'm not strong enough nor brave enough to stand up to my mother; the few times I did I was thoroughly shot down. I know that is no excuse for letting her words affect me that way, so I just have to work on that in order to be able to stand up for him if something like this were to happen again.

I see, being married really sends a message concerning commitment. Congratulations on your anniversary! Oh yes, what you said right there is so true. Our friends really respect us and see us as married, especially since we managed a LDR for two years also. People would often say "I don't know how I would have managed to go so long without seeing my bf/gf."

I'm not quite sure how to respond to your comment, other than just saying "I do trust him" and leave it at that. But what I can tell is that I have taken some long and hard looks at our relationship these two days; some before and after making my post, some after reading your and RainbowDress' comments. I do trust him. With what I said in my post (maybe even in some comments?) I completely understand that it looks like I don't. Thank you for pointing that out to me. But I really do trust him. I …

Yes, he did. Your comment, as well as some of the others, have made me realise how my concern was completely without reason. I think it's just too easy to influence me and stress me. His response was not unsatisfying at all. I see now that I was just making that mole-hill seem much bigger than it was - but now I see that it actually is nothing but a mole-hill :) I felt my post was too long already, so I purposely didn't elaborate on that. This made me smile, I just edited my post to tell that we aren't married. I see now from your comment that SO can be used about one's partner even when not married, thank you for indirectly teaching me this. My SO and I discussed the relationship between engagement/marriage and the outside world, and we agree with what you said here. Although we live together like a married couple, we are just boyfriend and girlfriend. In the eyes of the state that means we are actually single. Early in our rela…

Thank you so much for reminding me about all of this. I'm terrible at standing up to situations that are uncomfortable to me, so I will have to work on being able to tell that I don't tolerate such things. If this happens again then I will do like you said. But, I'm so sorry, I believe I have made a mistake here somewhere along the lines of my post; we are not married, nor even engaged! You're right, I must not concern myself with such things; there seems to be a lot of assuming and guessing at hand here, and there might be very much projection going on, now that you mention it. Since it lead to problems for them, they fear the same thing could happen to me. I guess no parent wants that, and so they believe higher education and career is the only safe way to go. Yes, I see now that my concerns were unreasonable. I'm too easily influenced. I believe now she's just genuinely worr…

She is more concerned with how the world sees you than the truth. I didn't think of it in that way, actually, but what you say seems possible with what I wrote now that I think of it. Maybe what she meant was lost in translation, since my first language is not English. She never was the one to care about what the world thinks, so I see I could have selected my words with more care when translating that particular part. I apologize for being so sloppy, and I value your input nevertheless. I don't…

That's very true. Something I failed to mention in my post was that she also said (and often says) that she doesn't want me to end up like her, so what you say about her projecting her own problems and insecurities onto me seems very likely. I can't believe I didn't think of that myself, thank you for that observation!

You know, what you wrote really made sense to me. I'm very attached to my mother (/my entire family), and I'm finding it somewhat difficult to start this new chapter in my life even though it's exactly what I want - new things are hard for me at first. You are spot on; why should I worry now, what else do I need? I guess I worried because her words took me so aback, but I see there is no reason to worry now. What I needed was perhaps to get things properly into perspective, and I feel my SO's wo…

I really appreciate your attempt at commenting despite knowing so little about us! I also found that interesting. However, I just assumed that they got together to talk about it from the words she used. The divorce of my parents was not nasty, and my stepmother does not fear my mother, so it is possible that they have met up about this since they have about other things before. But then again, this is only my assumption. I love my family, but I don't know... I believe it to be maybe just as like…

Under no circumstance is it EVER ok to go to bed with makeup on. "Light", "normal" or "heavy" makeup, it doesn't matter - absolutely all of it must be off of your face by the time you go to sleep. You say that skincare is a top priority for you, and that you break out easily - now, I can't say much about your breaking out (change your beddings often and pillowcases even more often than that), but what I can say is that since skincare is so important to you, you must throw away every thought that…

I consider myself very lucky, as RP ideology has been ingrained in me since childhood (for as long as I can remember, but I don't know if people are born RP or not, hehe). Thus I haven't had to go through the 5 stages or any such thing people usually endure when first finding TRP, and I've been surprised at how much I already "knew" about RP ideology (SMV, the wall, CC and so forth). In my case, my mother believes that had my childhood been different, then I could very well have been an unpleasa…

Before seeing this post I had no idea what "flair" was - I learn something new every day! Having been a long time lurker, I made my account in order to comment when RPW hit 5000. I had been an active reader of RP material even before finding this place, and have lived with RP ideals pretty much all my life. However, I'm pretty sure I don't qualify as an active commenter. LadyLumen already summarized the "accept yourself" part of the article perfectly. I wish to add the following concerning the "love yourself" part: It is indeed important, and necessary, to "love yourself", but not in order to justify being overweight, entitled, selfish and the like. It's important to love onself because YOU are the one person you're going to spend the most time with - your whole life, actually. If you don't love yourself then you're in for a miserable time. Love yourself in "the…

There is good advice in the comments here; I agree that it could be nice to tell her about your dislike of her behaviour in matters such as this. It can be tough, but since you consider making it more clear that she shouldn't come to you and talk about such things then it might be what's necessary. Who knows, maybe she will take it to heart if she cares greatly for you? From the way you talk about her in your comments, you seem to care greatly for her. If it goes wrong, then she's probably not a…

This describes the way I feel very well. I'm 19, but ever since I was a child people have commented on me being very mature for my age. Like OP said, being RP at a young age can be lonely in terms of friends, and like you said, I too have dropped friends whose goals and values were the opposites of mine. It's great that you are completely honest with the people around you. I'm not quite there yet, but I hope I'll manage one day. And what you said about people being/not being assets is so true.

All the other comments have good advice, so I'll not talk about what has already been mentioned. Considering that you're used to plucking the hairs from your neck, I suggest buying a product called "MySpringIt". It's a spring that plucks hairs; I think it would reduce the time you spend on plucking significantly, and it's a cheaper alternative until you can afford laser hair removal (think it's around $15). I use it to remove unwanted facial hair, and in my experience it's very good. I'm not sur…

No, they aren't. There are different types of girls, some are slutty, some are decent. There will be girls you consider attractive that have no morals, and others that have morals. The same applies to girls you will consider unattractive. Sadly, it seems more and more girls are becoming bad, however that does not mean there are no girls that cringe at the mere thought of slutty behaviour. It's possible to find all kinds of girls in all kinds of places, but certain places attract more of certain …

Oh, I see my choice of words were not the best! I didn't mean to hint at/insinuating(?) that you meant you only stuck to the main storyline. I think different girls enjoy different games for different reasons. I'm a girl gamer that is story/progress driven like yourself. However, I don't mind taking time to explore games in ways that delay the process as long as I return to the main story eventually. I mostly play JRPGs and adventure games, as I enjoy gaming the most when there is a good story. That way it's really entertaining, and it feels similar to reading or watching a movie. I always select normal mode (when possible) on my fir…

Hi! Congratulations on hitting 5000! I ended up here while searching for RP material for women after having read "manosphere" blogs for months.
