That's an interesting situation. I would imagine that forced sex comes before statutory rape in the eyes of the law. The older person did not decide to have sex, but was forced to by the minor. Unfortunate, yes, because it minorly perpetuates the sexist stigma, but every now and then its nice to know this isn't gender warfare as a whole and that not all women (and not all men for that matter) are vying solely for their gender but instead showing concern for the rights of the other group. 17 and a senior here, I learned like you did but with a ton of biased teachers making one political side sound more holy than the other. It bothers me so much that I simply don't listen to them, I just read the books and look up articles online.
