I think i gotta leave this page man. There is no "debate" going on in any of these posts, and the people posting dont want to close this gender gap were here to talk about, its just a bunch of pointing fingers at, and blaming the assholes of our respective demographics. I think ive been on this page for almost a year, and the people that actually try to understand eachother are so far and between, idk if this page is what i thought it was going to be.

Other peoples opinions have no place in my relationships. If i decide that i like a woman and want her to be my girlfriend, the opinions of the public are of little intrest to me. I dont date people on a whim, either, i wont pursue a relationship with anyone unless that person is someone that i WOULD be willing to stand up against the world for. And i would be very turned off if someone who i was interested in put out a poll, or a flier to my ex's or previous accquantences asking about what they…

Whoever told you that men have to be ready to fight all the time didnt know what they were talking about. I used to train in MMA and wrestling. Used to love it as a controlled sport, still kinda do. But those losers at the bar that try to start a fight for making eye contact are super annoying. They might get a girl to go home with them every now and then, but they arent keeping one. Nobody likes a guy thats so macho he seems dumb or fake. A REAL "macho man" just does what he enjoys doing withou…

Man, i swear this page is just grabbing the worst examples of humanity and going "LOOK WHAT WOMEN/MEN DO ALL THE TIME" as if its not a fraction of the population commiting those acts.

If a 7% difference from one study, done in one country, is what youre trying to run with im going to just move on to more prevelant matters with more avaliable data.

I just want to make sure, because it sounds like youre making a generalization about the beliefs of the majority of men, based off of 22% of men. Per your own data, most men actually wouldnt mind a partner who weighed more than themselves. The 7% difference youre seeing is fairly minor, and could be atributed to a wide variety of variables that commonly occur within interview studies. This data would be more shocking if there was atleast a 12-15%+ difference between the two stats.

Again, we seem to be bouncing off of hypotheticals. Its hard to find an end result to the debate without any real world numbers. How many rapes are we finding involve physical injury? What are the extents of the physical injuries? How many false accusations end up in court? Of those court cases, how many resulted in jail time, career loss, and or family seperations?

Alright, two things to shoot this post down A. Physical threats shouldnt be held up to reputational, or legal threats. Both suck. Yeah, but we cant actually expect these to hold the same weight. B. I always have issues with these because its a hypothetical question, and plenty of people know that false accudations, aswell as rape are wrong. Youre not going to get honest answers out of people. Even if 32% and 40% admition rates are kinda wild.

Being a doctor makes plenty of money, yeah, but i was more reffering to the rediculously rich guys that fly girls in from out of state/country for a date, or take 3 girls out on the yacht kinda rich guys. Your a doctor, and im a self employeed HVAC tech, and compared to those kinda rich guys, you and I are both pesants. Girls that like rich guys typically just like guys who will spoil them. If youre not spending all of your hard earned money on the girl, they dont actually care how rich you are.…

I think we said the same thing from conflicting perspectives. A rich man cannot date ANY poor but attractive woman, but all women, rich or poor, attractive or not, that are attracted to rich men will flock to the rich man. There are countless 10/10 beautiful women who constantly aim for very wealthy men with no interest in anything but the money. Gold diggers are real. Media fantasy, sure, but they exist enough that middle class men are warry of underprivileged women. We can probably come to an …

Everyone is different, and different men and women date for different reasons. If youre a broke guy, who goes after women with high class tastes, youre going to be heart broken. If youre not a barbie, but crave men who always have a barbie on their arm, youre going to get heart broken. Needless to say, this exact same quality carries over to the infinite number of dating qualifiers.

Parents pushing kids into the military is probably a very small percentage, but id love to see suggested military service from parents in comparison to opposed to military service. And yeah, we are in the era where the stereotypical mother does everything for the kid needs to go away, especially if its a dual income household and men are adjusting slower than we'd all like, but if this is the argumemt that you want to use to agree with OP's "men are biologically a detriment to society" i still t…

Yeah i had a problem with those numbers too, 7/8 fathers in the UK are present, and 87% of australian kids have their father around too, based on the info you provided, which sounds like the majority of fathers are infact present for their kids. How does this imply that fathers dont care about their kids? Im glad you just stepped up and admitted that youre sexist, that makes me feel better about this argument, thank you.

The issue i have with these sets of data is the graph they get pulled from. It doesnt seem to make sense to take the <1% of highly successful men, and use those as the baseline for the entire gender without also acknowledging the HUGELY disproportionate gender gap in homelessness. Same with crime rates, sports, etc.

Who raised those men? If women are the ones staying home and taking care of their children, then where is the responsibility for the children they raised? You dont get to blame men for the society we have and not blame the people who made those men. I agree, shyness is a trubbling speed bump regardless of gender, but the major point most people debate on, is that if you, as a shy woman, walked up to most men, and just said "hello, could i buy you a drink?" They would most often be extatic, and likely pick the conversation up themselves. Where as the males perspective on being a shy person, is not only do they also have to jump that hurdle of approaching first, but the women they approach is more likely to either be uninterested, or wait for…

100% agree, anyone trying to do this power play BS while dating is toxic, and should stay single. If they cant view their partner as their #1 most valuble team mate, they shouldnt be dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/25 06:46 PM

I find this interesting, because as a man, If a girl leaves me on read consistantly, i assume shes not into me and move on. Because thats like. The logical thing to do. Its hard enough figuring out whether or not someone is compatable, if someone is intentionally trying to fuck with me during that process they arent my type anyways.

If my girlfriend ever gave off freeloader vibes, shes going to find herself on the curb, FAST. We live in the 21st century. Millions of women in our country are happily pulling their own weight. Get a f***ing job. No way in hell am i going to live with 2+ people in a single income household.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/25 03:05 PM

Idk, ima vibes guy. I could live happily with either life style, as long as i vibe well with the person im with. So much more that goes into picking a dating partner, life style alone isnt the best category to be picking from. My current GF is a little more on the homebody side. Our idea of a vacation is an air bnb within state for a weekend, and just relax. MAYBE we'll go out of country eventually, but it probably wont be a regular occurance. And im 100% okay if we never go out of country again…

Hookup culture goes away, sex isnt prioritized, or used as a tool for self validation, stress relief, or boredom. People start dating with the goal of marriage, and date 2-3yrs living together before marriage, the number of babies born outside of stable relationships plummets, the number of stable relationships skyrockets. Kids born into stable house holds have less stressed parents, and in turn result in being less stressed adults. Less stressed adults treat people better in the dating world, a…

What is our definition of sexist here? Because this headline also implies that women avoiding men in society are also sexist, when we can agree that both of these things are happening because of the well known risks of interacting with the opposite gender. Its really funny you mention a "would you rather be stuck in an office with a woman or a bear" argument when thats an obvious parody of the man or bear in the woods argument. Something similar. I would have to dig a little deeper but in the interview i watched i dont think he ever asked for depopulation, or population regulation, he just said "this is something we need to take into consideration going forward" And again, the whole experiment has been debated as blatant animal abuse, and not a scientific project, so take away from it what you will. Check out "universe 25" on youtube. Theres a 20min or so video that goes super into detail. Dude made a rat society that was overpopulated, but sustained, to test the effects of overpopulation, and they started behaving very weird, and eventually stopped breeding. John Calhoun named them "beautiful ones" because they were basically stoic. Just grooming, eating, and sleeping. They wouldnt mate, wouldnt fight, play or compete, they became complete social outcasts, and were fine with it. Disclaimer…

Ive thought about what this post talks about plenty of times, but more of "people should be happy single, regardless of dating experience." But reading through this post i got a looootttt of Calhoun's "beautiful ones" vibes, and it has honestly been my most horrifying mental correlation ive made in this subreddit. Ive been saying this for awhile, that people should first focus on becoming happy themselves, with or without a partner. I personally am grying to set up a life where i can die, happy, alone. If i happen to find someone along the way sweet, if not, whatever. But, and maybe this is just me, i notice an uncanny similarity with this train of thought, and an experiment done by a researcher named John Calhoun, in the late 60s.

I think this rule applies to men aswell, if youre not happy in any relationship, you should leave. And honestly, even with kids, if youre not happy with your partner, a co-parent relationship is better than "sticking it out for the kids". I know kids whose parents tried like that, and they said it was horrible living with two adults who resented eachother. But lets be real, there are plenty of people, men and women, who arent happy in their relationship, and it doesnt matter if youre a man or a …

Thats not what i was saying, though i do wish more fathers had a place in their childs lives. I believe the father figure, or some variation of it, is a key archetype in raising children of both genders. Naturally, i hope kids get both of their parents throughout their childhood, and even into adulthood. In no way was i making an attempt at replacing mothers, just that single mothers have a lot more on their plate, trying to 100% fill both nuturing, and stern roles to the child. I just wish more…

Also, just speaking from experience, im pretty sure both of my parents are equally invested in how much they care about me, but the display is vastly different. And as much as i love my mom, id never do anything to huet her, but i appreciate my dads form of love more. Stern, and still supportive enough to enchourage me to figure things out on my own. Am i the only one who cringes or laughs whenever someone talks about the "beta-alpha" scale, or starts calling people chads? Im thouroughly convinced no "alpha" men give a shit about any ranking system. Any grown ass adult is going to do what they want, regardless of opinions towards being "alpha". Idk why i cant live an exciting, adventerous, adrenaline full life, while also being an honest, drama free, friendly person. Ive done MMA, partied and done the drugs, flipped a truck, jump in the cold water with my life all the time. Never cheated, dont start fights, hate drama. This is great until someone ends up staying in a relationship they dont want to be, or shouldnt be in under the premis that "its better than being single" Other people are not stepping stones for your mental health, and its pretty fucked up staying in a relationship with someone just because you need someone, not because you care about them. Staying in a toxic relationship for your mental health is an oxymoron. Toxic relationships, by definition, are a strain on your mental health. If sexual gra…

There was a girl i was interested in a long time ago, but she wasnt into me as anything more than a friend. We stayed friends while i was working my way out of feeling that way towards her, she dated a few people in the mean time, eventually turned out i was NOT interested in her after getting front row seats to 2-3 relationships as her best friend, we went camping with a bunch of mutual friends, she confessed her love for me while crying in the back of the my car, while i was trying to sleep. I feel like i end up differing from most people on here, not even just guys, but i dont date someone to turn them into my perfect girlfriend, i date someone because i like who they are, and who i am around them. If youre dating someone for who they are, then you should give them as many opportunities to be themself as possible. No rules. Is it what i want? No. Do i think there would be some huge benefits to society if it worked like this? Holy hell yes. STDs and unwanted pregnancies would more than likely be cut in half or more. Im also a firm believer that sex should not be used as a method of self validation, so forcing people to find self validation through other means seems like a net positive to me.

For me its more of a personality thing. I dont enjoy spending with people who care THAT much about their appearance. Life saving surgery? Go for it. QOL upgrade? (ie, breast reduction), 100% understand. But the stereo type that comes with girls who get aesthetic based plastic surgery, or are covered in make up, is they kinda implode when youre sweaty at the gym, or camping for a week, or some form of cant be seperated from a mirror for more than 24 hrs. Im not going to say i speak for all men (i think its kind of funny she is, when shes not even a guy) but i will speak for myself, and say i would never date someone who plays these stupid mind games. Normally i dont agree with your posts OP, but you have a few points here that i think people dont consider often enough. Im sure enough girls hear it all the time, that when they arent happy with the men they are after, or have been screwed over in some form, its because they are after "shitty" men, and that sword cuts both ways. I dont see enough guys acknowledging skewed priorities in the dating world.

Im not sure if your missunderstanding the point im trying to make or maybe im not explaining it very well, but the online thing is an example of issues men do actually see in their day to day lives. I brought this up in another comment, but you can go on body positivity pages, where people post looking for affirmation typically. Its mostly women that post there. Even the girls that arent hot get substantially more interaction than the posts by men. Even when we take pictures out of the equation. Which is the argument i used to make, but, when we go on the body positivity pages, usually people post there nude. No dress up needed, just bare bodies looking for compliments. The trend continues. Even the girls not posing, and not using filters, still end up with more interaction than men.

I never said all women? Or talked about youtube videos or memes ect? But its pretty common knowledge that women post selfies more than guys do. And when they do, you can see an overwhelming amount of compliments and support on the womans side. Or if girls post that they are in distress, they are 10x more likely to get online support. I have a buddy who is a male nurse (married) and got harrassed by a couple different coworkers, and when he brought it up his supervisor basically told him that hes a guy in a woman dominated work place, he might just have to learn to deal with it. Ive pushed myself back from this whole men vs women debate, and wouldnt date anyone who feels that we are at odds based on gender in any regard. If i heard "well men this" or "ugh, i hate men" in any kind of serious or under cutting tone, its a huge turn off. Im pretty sure this isnt even an american problem, but just an american social media problem. People in the real world dont talk to eachother like they do on this sub. I think this is just going to come down to different life experiences. I wasnt a very masculine guy either, growing up, and got a good amount of lashing from both sides. In the modern world, i see several relationships fairly close to me, where the man is treated like a dumb oaf by a woman who doesnt have a job. I think the term "lack of sexual partners" was... poorly stated, but summerizes a few different issues that could be taken more seriously. Though, i do agree, we as men need to learn how to talk about it better. If youre glass is half full, it might make sense to pair up with someone else who has a half full glass so you can fill yours all the way up. But then your partners is empty. What you need to do is figure out how to keep your glass full regardless, AND fin…

Agreed, but the reality of how this has been going, is that it just means fewer jobs, and richer bosses. When McDonalds puts in the "order yourself" booths, the result ends up being getting rid of the staff that used to take orders. If i get an AI robot that will run service calls, im going to get rid of my team of technicians. They just wont have a job, unless they happen to be able to afford their own AI and can go into buisness for themselves. Ill be fine regardless.

I am all for improving safety in the work place, however i can still strongly understand the position of the people being replaced, now being told that the skill set they learned to support their families, is now not worth anything. For a 20yo, thats fine, pick a new career. For the 45yo, their entire world just came down, and they are no longer financially stable. Im a buisness owner, from my perspective, i CANT WAIT to replace employees with robots or AI. It will be 10x cheaper for me, and les…

I am a man, and i am completely happy single. I do not depend on anyone for my own happiness. My gf is a bonus. I wouldnt be dating her, if i was the only thing that was making her happy. I also have plenty of purpose outside of my relationships? Im an uncle, a son a brother, a buisness owner, a boss, an HVAC technician, i have all kinds of purpose that doesnt even involve my relationship. Idk where youre getting this idea that men cant be happy alone, or that we have no purpose other that servi…

Idk where i fall on the attractinvess scale, ive heard mixed responses. But as for where i was going wrong, i was Just trying too hard. Playing the "sweet romantic" or trying to be a badass, just verious methods all of which looked and felt super cringy. Got friend zoned by a high school friend i had set my sights on for awhile, and after that i was like "fuckin fine, wanna be friends? Heres how i treat my friends 🤬🤬🤬" like a month later i got invited to girls night. Didnt even try flirting, jus…

So, i had issues socializing with women, to the point where i got frustrated and gave up. At that point everyone was a bro, i didnt want to persue anything that wasnt interested in me first. Didnt care how pretty they were, not worth my time, effort, and self esteem. Hot or not, i will roast you with the same intensity i roast my coworkers. Found it immediatley easier to make female friends. Shortly after landed a gf. The trick is to stop talking to every woman with the idea of trying to get the…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
