While it is true that not all women are nurturing or supportive, that is part of the traditional role of women as a wife and mother. To support her husband (emotionally) and be nurturing to their children. Although, men’s roles as the provider does require them to be supportive, but in different ways (financially). I would disagree that a woman giving up her personal aspirations to lift up her husband isn’t a sacrifice. Even if she’s being provided for, giving up one’s dream isn’t always the eas…

Can you give me statistics that compare the amount of men who can’t come from penetration versus the amount of women who can’t come from penetration? It would seem most men would be able to orgasm more due to biological pressures whereas women in addition to needing clitoral stimulation are also blocked mentally from reaching it. Men in your case obviously exist, but I don’t have much in regards to statistics to combat the orgasm gap as there have only been anecdotal evidence stated here. As for…

When I learned about the orgasm gap and looked at plenty of anecdotes from women and statistics about which group has the most orgasms, it stated straight women had the least amount. From what I gathered it had to do a lot with a cultural assumption that PIV was something that got both sides off equally. I saw many women in both online and irl who talked about how sex ed and other forms of media that showed sex never mention the clitoris at all and led them to have unrealistic expectations about…

That was a really insightful response. It made me reflect a bit on my own values regarding sexuality. Thank you!

“no fault divorce = patriarchy, no lie. others might think of it as archaic and unnecessary, linking it to conservative politics.” Don’t you mean at fault divorce? Sorry if my questions seemed a bit silly. When I think of this topic I remember this post about a married couple divorcing after one of them came out of the closet and both parties agreed to split amiably in a no fault divorce. This example may not mean much nor is it representative of all no fault divorce cases, but I just remember a…

“The best solution is the one everyone thinks is evil, undo the no-fault divorce. Obviously advocating for this has no correlation with advocating for abuse. You need two parents in the household for a child to function. This isn't conservative, this is understanding that children are not something that will "just move on" when women feel "trapped".” What are some reasons people think at fault divorce is evil? In your words, can you explain how it would be a better alternative for people in abus…

Maybe the problem comes from strained/unhealthy family dynamics and childhoods in general which may not be specific to divorce alone. As for the solution to lonely men, what would you propose? Would destroying the gender war as a whole be the most affective route? Obviously this is more easy said than done, but this could be the main source of male loneliness. Correct me if I’m wrong.

“And I guarantee you that if people starting mocking lonely women in their 30's, calling them femcels, spinsters, and crazy cat ladies” I assure you that while this view is not accepted by the mainstream, there are groups (tradcons for instance) that shame single women for not having children at a certain age and warn about women’s biological clocks ticking and that they should have children as soon as possible. This also comes with ridicule towards career women and pitting them against trad wom…

“I'm not gonna go into the shitshow that is "incels 'struggle' because they can't compete" as if men who struggle with dating don't struggle because their mom divorced their dad when he was 13.” Could you expand on this part a bit more? For clarification that is.

“aiming to 'sexually fulfill one another' is consistent with an asexual relationship; to sexual fulfill therein is at least largely if not completely, to be asexual.” I’m sorry, but I’m a little confused here. In a relationship between asexuals, wouldn’t the act of sex not be seen as important or a relevant factor in their relationship? Also, would you say that both sides of the puritanical divide are equally valid in their views or would you say one is inherently better?

If that’s the case, then what would a good role reversal relationship look like to you? Would you say your current relationship mirrors that as well (assuming you’re in a relationship that is)?

Yeah. I understand trying to make sure both parties are fulfilled sexually. I guess I was focusing on cases where one partner has a low libido or due to mental or physical distress has no interest in sex or are asexual. Women who are pregnant or recovering from pregnancy which may dull one’s sex drive, or people working long hours. In these cases, the pressure to sexually please one’s partner feels one-sided. Personally, I think the excuse of “not being in the mood” despite what others think is …

I don’t think the refusal of sex is innately a means to control. If it’s happening a lot or consistently, it could be factors such as low libido, stress, pregnancy, and other mental and physical factors. The OP is well within his rights to feel rejected and to consider leaving (perhaps finding a partner with whom he is sexually more compatible with and has a higher libido). I don’t think anyone should be coerced or pressured to perform sexual acts if they don’t want to. Nor is saying no when you…
