Woman are legally protected against rapists and there are plenty of legal measures to protect victims, acknowledge the grievances and make perpetrators pay for what they did. Plus, abusing women is very frowned upon socially. The issue lies in legal helplessness. In hispanic cultures people have two surnames, usually the first from the father and the second from the mother. People sometimes swap them though, but it's not super frequent.
