Assuming you're asking in good faith, mainly because of the physicality aspect. Women simply aren't as strong as men (in a physical sense). Studies have also shown men tend to react quicker, and more precise in a violent encounter than women do as well. I would like to see more women in roles such as negotiators and detectives and such, but men tend to be better street cops the vast majority of the time.
