This is bizarre. No one thinks that lol. What do you even mean by patriarchy?

Yep, i totally agree with this. It's often difficult to empathise with the problems of the opposite sex because they are so alien - certainly in this ^case. Unfortunately, over the last 10 years Gender politics and the relationships between men and women have become so toxic that these conversations are difficult to navigate at the best of the times - people dont usually bother. Unfortunately, most conversations around identity are blame-focused rather than trying to find common ground... and it…

The most common problem is almost the opposite of yours: young boys receiving no attention at all; no kind words; no compliments... This is a, sadly, very common experience which isn't talked about a huge amount and frequently extends into adulthood. Then - as you get older, it's often not just the lack of positivity: you're often actively treated like you are a problem or potential threat. There is often a complete lack of sympathy towards boys/men in any shape or form over a certain age. All o…

Yeh... this is a loose theory, but I basically agree with it. Ive found the problems in my relationships have tended to revolve around me underthinking - and the woman overthinking.Everyone's different, of course, but Ive found this to be broadly true. Good communication is the antidote.

It's messy. Tbh, Ive been out with women who intimidated me slightly - beautiful, successful, confident, powerful etc. I suppose it's a subtle intimidation, thinking 'hmmm, am I good enough?' However, this feeling would never result in me (or, I imagine, most most men) leaving her. There's absolutely no question that this term is thrown around and overused by women who are left/rejected for being hard work, boring or difficult. 'He left you because u were a rude arsehole not because u were succe…

Can you imagine the female-male ratio if it was looking into people breaking up with their partners if they got fired/ran out of money/ eviction/couldn't provide any more? Even if this ^ hypothesis was real it should be taken as a pinch of salt in a banquet...

Interesting. I never thought of it in that way and had, like the other commentators, basically only heard it in a positive tone. I suggest not worrying about it. A bromance is a beautiful thing and anyone who uses the word in another way clearly hasn't had one :)

I find theyre even more fickle than that. When describing how 'easy men have it' they always point to the CEOs and top 0.1%, but when talking about violence, dead-beat dads or 'rape culture' theyre more than happy to let the bottom 5% be an accurate representation of all men. The tunnel vision is laughable. This is also why Im unsure how accidental or calculated their whole argument actually is..

You don't decide what 'feminism' is or who 'feminists' are. There are all sorts of people motivated by the movement and who claim to be feminists . The point is this type of myopic entitlement is powered by 4th wave feminism and should be criticised.

It's not particularly shocking when u step back and think about it - but men are told from a young age that if you listen, are sensitive, romantic and bend over backwards to show a woman you care - she'll fall for you. This is reinforced by mothers/sisters, women in general, the media and stories (think of 90% of romantic films). So when boys and men try and do as theyre told and then, despite their best/consistent efforts, see the girls they love chasing after bad boys and muscular meatheads wh…

My family was pretty close to perfect. My mum and my sister are two of the most impressive and wonderful people I know. It's more the direction society has taken (along with perpetual digital connectivity etc) which has made me cynical of dating and marriage. I always wanted to a family... but I simply think in today's climate that it's just not worth it.

I dont think it's that women necessarily 'age' worse than men. I think it's because different values are placed on each of the sexes. Obviously looks and personality are important, but things like power, status, confidence, talent are much more important and sexy in a man, whereas youth and beauty are much more valued in women. This is why a 80 y/o Rolling Stone can marry a 21 y/o Russian model - or the Leo DiCaprios only date <25 y/os. This isn't some social construct either - I think both are …

Cool. Good for you! :)I should clarify that I don't think talking is unhelpful and can be great on an individual level for certain types of people - my post is more about the fact that it seems that this idea (JUST TALK MORE) is a way of shrugging off doing anything for men's issues at a societal level. Many of the issues men face (of which I gave a few examples ^ ) cannot be fixed below a systemic level and I think this narrative is one of the ways society obfuscates, distracts and ultimately a…

ye possibly incorrect. I was thinking this narrative is a deliberate effort not to act on behalf of men in trouble: i.e. 'why should we do anything? They just need to start talking more..'

Yeh, Ive noticed this too. It's the main reason I find it all so irritating and difficult to ignore. Born in the UK automatically puts you in the top 5% luckiest people in the world. If youre white, middle class and university educated, that automatically puts u in the top 10% of that. Finally, if youre a woman it puts you in the top half of that.. Nice. I think agree with everything u said there. I remember losing interest a little in the last couple of books and I assumed at the time it was because I was growing older, but 'bloated' is the exact word i would use... Definitely a little self-indulgent and rambling.

She does describe herself as a feminist, but in the original and true sense of the word. She believes in equality for the sexes and is therfore massively critical of most comtemporary 'feminists' because they're manhating, diluded and entitled. She's a great woman. PS. Love this quote. Saved.

Pillar 2 - Psychology 'reduce spending'..Do u mean taxing (spending) yourself mentally or something? Otherwise this seems pretty similar to the latter 2 pillars? I would argue for the psychological pillar to be something more like 'building character and growing ever happier with yourself.' Maybe Ive misinterpreted, though.

Oh fuck ooooofff!!! Can men have literally nothing they like? Not even a quiet space in their own home which they bought and paid for? Bad enough removing men-only clubs, societies and making 'Boy Scouts' unisex etc... (studies show that older men are feeling more and more isolated and lonely every year due to changes like these) but this is bordering on psychological abuse. YOU CANT HAVE ANYTHING NICE AT ALL, MEN!!

It's also been shown that (like life in general) juries in criminal courts are incredibly biased against men. I cant remember the data or research, but I remember reading that juries are 6 times more gender biased (against males) than racially biased. This seems a somewhat dubious stat now Ive written it out, but I think it's fairly common knowledge that juries are much more likely to let women off.

In what ways has he fucked it up? Ive read a bit about it and was surprised at how much good he seemed to have done. Obviously, I wouldn't be expecting anything anti-feminist or anti-progressive to be broadcast everywhere, so I imagine they buried it..
/r/MensRights08/05/19 03:06 PM

I think the only reason women are ever described as complicated is as a way to 'explain' or 'justify' their arsehole/self-serving behaviour. Don't forget that men/society have been told our whole lives that every single one of them is a sweet princess. 'Complicated' is a way to avoid saying 'cruel,' 'callous' or another c-word... :)

Lol. This is pretty eye opening. It's become quite clear to me of late that men require very little material things to be truly be happy. In most cases, the ballers and the show-offs are only spending to hook, line and sinker an endless line of vacuous tarts. A few others are doing it for a short-sighted thrill or a sense of competition with other 'successful' men. Let go of these impulses and you're rich already.

Not totally sure how this has turned into a sloth discussion group (certainly not against it either), but I have one also: Sloths are super obsessed with human faeces. They like eating it and writhing around in it. Whats even weirder is they can only enjoy it when theyre not being observed by humans or other sloths and tend to get shy and embarrassed if caught. Frankly, they're bloody pervs. The creator of the rape sloth meme was an important whistleblower imo.
