Any knowledge can be applied maliciously, but knowledge alone is not malicious. They are conflating the two. To me suppressing knowledge is evil, but... It's also just everyday evolved human womens (sexual) strategy to this as much as it is ours to resist it for our own benefit. At the end of the day all creatures want to benefit their own survival and success.

This. They absolutely would not apologize to 'make things right' if you stayed low value. This is a way for them to see if they can get something of value that they previously scorned. It's normal behavior and you should accept that it's just how women are. But if there's some past connection they will test you to see if it's real, and you may not act your best if there's some vestige of your past self's ways bringing you down because of that past connection. The best advice depends on how dista…

Yeah the post is being uselessly dismissive. You can 'do what you want' and do the wrong thing for your goal because you're unskilled and lacking knowledge. You can browse TRP all day and do nothing with just circling around anger and 'what ifs' without acting on it. Resorting to stereotypes of the chaddiest Chad who ever chadded and saying asking for advice is wrong just to push a 'rule of thumb' about behavior, misses the point of TRP existing to provide a library of theory and knowledge that …

Ah, yeah to clarify, some species adaptively will try to kill children of competing families. Our species doesn't as much. Not quite the same as abusive behavior, but yours is a notable tangent all the same.
/r/askTRP09/01/21 03:00 AM

Imagine the opposite. Some animals kill children of others of their species. We obviously don't but, seeking commitment and resources is the most important thing when their kids are involved. It's a woman's worst outcome to be left without support, ostracised for their behavior, shamed and left undesirable for having borne illegitimate children and suffering the consequences of it.

Why break up? 'Hurt her feelings?' She's a grown woman. He's made his position clear, if she doesn't like the arrangement she can leave at any time. If she keeps willingly coming back for casual sex, that's because she wants to. It's not on him to convert her way of thinking away from 'I can fuck him into a commitment' into something more mature, nor for him to break off for her sake if she's going to act immature and keep trying it despite OP telling her up front.

The lack of tight control is probably related to modern contraception. Sex otherwise tended to have consequences, aka children and the social rules of your society that came with creating them. Removing that consequence on a ubiquitous societal level is relatively recent in human evolutionary history.

There's a psychology angle on this called 'terror management theory,' which suggests that a lot of individual human behavior in regards to mortality can be explained by avoidance of experiencing the fear of death. Having progeny, leaving behind a legacy, engaging in distracting hobbies, denial, all behaviors that the theory poses are motivated by the goal of avoiding that fear. It's an interesting extension of evo psych in a way and it has some merit, so I appreciate it even if it's not my prefe…

Hey, great point. I had my perspective too narrow and was thinking within the limits of a single community. It's easier to pump n dump if you avoid the possible social consequences, and doing so fits within mens reproductive goals of creating the most progeny. If women saw the outgroup male as more desirable, she would have his children. Maybe a contemporary society version of that is women who would happily be impregnated by a celebrity who has no intention of committing. VERY good bringing tha…

You're not wrong about the trend on TRP subreddits, there is a lot of snark and sass, and straight answers need not be emotional 'lessons.'. It's just part of the culture, and humans are emotional creatures so it does work on some level. It's one of those things where yes, the snark you see often spill overs into dumbassery. You learn to ignore or read past the noise of it.

They keep the guy around with sex. Most guys don't dump hot women they're getting convenient, on-demand, no-complications sex from, but they haven't evolved with the expectation of getting it. They do it because the sex is other than that. Women don't give sex like that because they're constantly testing for sexual fitness of the man, and being less than perfect can have their own dysfunctions too. Men have to bargain commitment of resources and women with access to their bodies. More on point, …

Evolutionary psychology explains this much better. The general explanation for most general human behavior is 'its adaptive for reproduction'. Women are genetically predisposed to look their best when young, with little to no effort of their own. Given the resources to grow from a child to young adult with general basic needs taken care of (by family when young), having a sexually attractive body is worth more for a woman's reproductive success than any other possible behavior or trait they coul…

Maybe it's possible to fulfill the goal of having kids in an LTR -> marriage if you always maintained your frame, not by never breaking frame but by being secure in having no emotional dependence on the LTR. It's a pretty lofty challenge, being that stoic with someone you'd commit to living with every day. Until at least the kids grow up anyway, after that if it turns bad you can leave if things turned sour with the goal of having progeny achieved. Wouldn't be easy, and you're still at risk of b…

The woman in the story has already signaled that she's probably not good LTR material, which is fine. It's possible that in a scenario like this with any woman that she still is LTR material, but you have to make that analysis per case. Don't ignore signals and red flags just because you're desperate for a relationship, and if you drop a woman at the first sign of AWALT behavior you're missing the point of red pill too. Women will do things like this, it's in their reproductive strategy that's b…

There's definitely also something to be said about modern culture and how communication methods shift over time. You could make someone into a snail mail pen pal for logistics if your SMV was high enough, you will be worth the inconvenience to them. But you can also choose to take a path of lesser resistance and just use the culturally popular apps people are using to communicate these days. That doesn't exclude your other two points. As a bi married to a gay man I can chime in. I like my husband because he's not fucking mental like most women I've met. I have a low tolerance for irrational behavior because of being raised in by drunks (I don't drink because of it) and he fits the bill. Arguably doing relegated tasks for a woman falls under provider behavior, not displaying a sexually desirable skill. If you don't want to fill a provider role, the behavior described by OP's family is not something one should indulge in.

I urge you to avoid any chance of tainting your mind. This is not really the kind of thinking that any rational man should encourage. You should strive to be able to take in any kind of information with a critical eye and evaluate what parts are worth valuing and what is not. If the mere exposure to certain kinds of information is enough to break you down, you still need to work on yourself.

I think the things to focus on are the parts of being alpha that relate to your personal life. Motivation, improvement, growth, self worth, etc. The parts that apply to dealing with emotional women aren't true for how they apply to women but are true for how they apply to people being emotional (such as men). I'm a bisexual homoromantic. I've been with both and am married to a guy. I've seen some of both sides. It takes some of both sides to see how it applies. I don't do some of the things to m…

I got my degrees to learn about people, but also ended up learning about myself. It may not be THE specific motivation but it likely ends up happening anyway. TRP appeals nicely due to its base in evolutionary psychology, and it's very sensible to view humanity through a less emotional lens that way. At the very least, people might learning to be more self aware through psychology. It's not guaranteed of course but I'm sure it helps.

Look at it this way. It doesn't matter if you suck or not, if she believes it or not, or if you think she figured you out or not. Go just have fun with it and don't care. You'll have more experience in the future, this isn't the last time you'll fuck someone whether it's her or not. So have a good time you'll look back on with a smile. If you make it a bad thing and get shameful / defensive / negative, that's what will ruin the mood.

Exactly. Every time extrp says 'Red pillers are just self selecting' but I see the same behavior from a dozen women I just happen to be blood relations / coworkers / occupants of the same burger joint / shoppers at the same restaurant with, I roll my eyes a little. "I have no desire to devote my life and effort to raise a child that is not mine" is a perfectly valid desire. Knowing the answer is so much more important I'm shocked that anyone would doubt it. Being uncomfortable that someone may have hurt emotions? That's the reason to avoid finding out if the kid is his, a decision that can completely decide someone else's like that life? That is deeply and painfully immature. If she knows the kid is his, then getting the paternity test, THAT shows trust. B…

Arguably, that decision is on the girl. Anyone can flirt with her, but is it really their responsibility when she drops her pants for another guy, or is it hers? Be real. The only difference between the description of 'alpha' hobbies and videogames is one thing: female acceptance of the hobby. Other replies here are apt. It is smart to expect any woman's behavior to be in alignment with the trend of all women's behavior, and in accordance with how evolutionary psychology explains their reproductive goals and motivations. People who cite singular studies on topics with contrary results as outright rejection of everything has to say. People who just want to point out everything toxic in TRP, the worst of it, as why everything it says is wrong. I joined this sub because I wanted to see the counter …

You're not wrong I feel. There's a lot of grandiose-ness in this post and others that's overreaching and needs to just be ignored on it's face for what the underlying principle is. In this post there's a bit of a lack of it, and more insight in the comments. Grandiose-ness sells better, which is why people use it. But then it's also not hard to see why people dislike TRP, when they see this stuff and take it for face value.

Sure, that makes sense! No problem. I certainly could have spoken more at length about it, and in less assumptive terms. This is going to go above the scope of your original question, so apologies if I lose your interest somewhere in it! I think its worth considering that we (and others too) probably have different opinions on what AWALT means. I describe AWALT as a phrase meant to remind that any singular woman are more likely to act in accordance with how women as a whole tend to act, than n…

As an essentially gay guy who learned about TRP recently and didn't pay women much mind before this, your understanding of awalt is wrong, and the principle does have merit looking back on just about every woman I have ever known. Maybe you could see it as worth some consideration, even if some in the TRP community aren't exactly star figures in how they apply it. :P

Working on yourself is what you can do when you want to succeed. What you do because you value yourself, your health, your fitness, your self esteem, your well being, and by extension your value in others eyes. The fear of failure (consequence) and the desire to succeed (goal) are not one and the same. There is merit in some other portions of your advice, but shooting down someone's self improvement and shaming them as being cowardly is not among them.

Took a philosophy of language course in college. It covered this stuff too. Communication intent versus received intent, words as just a means of communication or ideas, different consideration of approaches to language, etc. It's not just red pill stuff technically. But it's a great topic for learning.

It's sad that false allegations are a definite concern for men in the modern day, but it is a concern and should be taken seriously nonetheless. CYA.

Gay (tldr it's more than gay but gay is the best word for it, not bi) guy with a lady friend on the side and a consenting husband. Can agree on this. Discovering red pill and realizing how it applied to probably every female I've ever known was pretty enlightening. Im kind of happy I can just enjoy sex with a woman because they aren't my only desire, far from it in fact. My husband is my best friend and I don't have to deal with bullshit. Being a BP slave to the pussy with no other outlet must s…

OP dismissing himself in one argument by not just speaking plainly. "If your perception of women relies on how they behave in controlled relationships and doesn't take into account casual flings, you don't get the whole picture.". Simple, clean, easy. Just doesn't sound as powerful and lacks the punch of ending with telling people to shut the fuck up.

Even more precisely, AWALT is the rule of thumb that women are far more likely to act in accordance with the trends of all women / women as population than they are to present as an outlier. It is the intelligent choice to act with this in mind. What is the reproductive goal for women? Understand this, and reasonably expect any women to act accordingly. What are the likely explanation(s) for why any woman would show a certain behavior? Whether that behavior be to test their man? To cheat on thei…

Humans are biological machines who ended up being where they are today partly because they ended up configured in a way that motivated them to make more of themselves. If biology is going to make you feel that way, it's because it's just what we were designed to do. Take that input in stride and go on to make your decisions.

Agreed. On its face, the statement is true. I would not want someone in my life as a partner for life who intentionally hurts me and added no value to my life. You wouldn't accept it from a stranger. If they died or left, you'd have to move on. We can't speak for the person who made the post (or we can and just be judgemental assholes). But we can abstain from confusing a perspective of blunt realism with a psychopathic lack of care for other people.

Without disagreeing with your statement, teachers can be wrong. Truth is not wrong. Ideally a teacher is teaching the truth. It is not always the case. That people come to mtrp and want to disbelieve everything they hear, and that bad advice regarding DARE/DEER is being given, are overlapping but independent issues. Both are valid.

Readers of this post, generalizing a truth of statistics (outliers exist) into radical assumptions (the blue pilled NAWALT fantasy) and somehow saying you should thus ignore statistics, this line of thinking is flawed. AWALT is a rule of thumb to remind you that any woman is far more likely to behave typical of all women than not. Not to mean 'actually all women must behave like this,' but that you should expect them to. If you, reader, need to be radical instead of logical to be redpilled, that…

Reader of this reply, it could be worth brushing up on statistics and human evolutionary psychology. Human behavior trends toward averages, because the most successful strategy is likely to be one most present doesn't mean there aren't people a few standard deviations away from the norm. There's just going to be women who have certain traits uncommon in most women, because that's just how statistics is when you have the kind of variation that exists in the human population. Outliers don't dispro…

It's to be expected. People don't like their beliefs challenged and resist when they are, even if they are dead wrong. This is true for more than just women. Sidebar suggested reading, Dale Carnegie's "How to win friends and influence people.'. It's just human psychology.

Agreed as well, and a very important point you made. We don't have the full context, and it takes more than one incident to form a full picture of someone. It's about having a good body of understanding from the various major or minor experiences. Hence why I would agree "in principle."

It's more about power dynamics. If you control the relationship, you get a lot for sex with little commitment given. If she controls the relationship, you give a lot of commitment for little sex.

You can't blame the red pill for your choices. It's always you who chooses what to do, no matter what you learned. Take personal responsibility. Red pill has grains of truth amidst the poison. Anyone saying it is absent one or the other of those is blind. Good luck in getting back on the right path, and that things turn for the better for you.

Never thought of it that way. Men who don't concede to a culture of extreme feminist-draped shit test bullshit end up seeming more attractive than those who cower and kowtow. Edit: a grammatical typo

Maybe it's tied into the need to shit test. She liked him because he seems alpha, but she cheated so there's someone 'better.' If he's really beta after all he will stay with her after the confession and prove that she should have cheated, cognitive dissonance avoided, hamster justified, goals achieved.

This is something I think is important nowadays. How you use your time is just as important as what you spend it doing. I stopped playing time-sink games as much as I could and divided my time into two categories. Playing games socially with friends, and playing games for myself for the story and experience. I tend to gravitate towards games I can finish in a scant 10-25 hours and walk away with a concise and complete experience. This is like isolating yourself with a fiction book, no more or le…

If you have difficulty you need to resolve with yourself, then that takes priority. Don't obsess if you can help it, give it time and work things out for awhile so you're in a better state. That's about the best uninformed advice anyone can give.

Seeing your nitpicking in the thread and some of the replies... The problem lies with you. You're doing things wrong and you know how, but you're still doing them anyway. If you think initiating is bad, you're ignoring the idea that someone who acts to get what they want is vastly more likely to succeed than someone who does nothing.

Step back, and think about this for a second. "I forgot I broke up with you." Would any rational person think this statement makes any sense, or that the person speaking it is telling you the truth? Should we even have to consider and rationalize our answer 'no, it is not thruthful' by stating the obvious, that a breakup is a meaningful and emotional event which forgetting would be in the domain of the mentally unwell? It is far more likely spoken for another reason. You need to not look at the …

Surprised I didnt see more of this. She wouldnt have made such an issue over his lack of reaction if she didnt want him as an orbiter. Having a guy hang around for her benefit despite being denied sex benefits and validates her, its her sexual strategy. Soft next is fine. If she comes back to give him sex because she chooses to, then she can.

You're not paying enough attention here. There was no assumption on her part. She needs an excuse to be angry in order to get OP to react to her anger in a beta way, and bow down and give her support again. The 'I thought we were a couple assumption' is just the hamster wheel spinning. 'I need a reason to justify this,' a rationalization and excuse for OP not being her orbiter anymore. That's her sexual strategy. It benefits her. Not OP. EDIT: Or she really is that stupid, some people just are a…

If you ask that, you need to think deeper. If men were just attracted to an orgasm, wouldn't they have died off from masturbating themselves to death? Men that kept reproducing didn't, so that the trait that keeps existing. Artificial wombs won't replace women any time soon. But they might lead to other selections if "high quality uterus" stops become meaningfully relevant someday.

If your answer isn't 'yes' you probably have your answer. Appreciate it for what it is, no need to get hung up over losing it if its not fitting what you want in life. If your goals are kids and marriage, have fun while you are enjoying the moment and the goals aren't pressing, and move on when you want to find someone who fits that.

This is where the concept of 'the wall' comes in. It's not that the alpha isn't a good match for her, its that her value is decreasing. She's getting older, and that means she's no longer going to be a good pick for the alpha. She still wants it, or course, and will still chase it if she can. That's branch swinging, alpha fucks/beta bucks, 'women want it all but can't have it', etc. Whatever angle you look at, it's definitely a multi-faceted subject. As for the alpha guy, it just depends. Some p…

Was going to similarly note the discussion with the mom. Feels like her 'hamster' is spinning to justify her own past behavior... Which is what TRP would describe as just solipsism in action. 'If the man leaves her, it's the man's fault because it shouldn't, it CANT be her fault that she didn't keep her man happy.'. For men in TRP, they have to focus on their own worth and value and becoming something that the woman sees as the best. He takes responsibility for it, it's his job to do it and his …
