Non-white population is around 40% of the US (https://www.census.gov/content/dam/Census/library/publications/2015/demo/p25-1143.pdf), but Japan for example has less than 1% non-Asian demographic (https://www.indexmundi.com/japan/demographics_profile.html). So I’d expect the representation of non-white people in the US to be higher than the non-Asian representation in Japan

I get where you’re coming from but you also have to realize while that does happen sometimes now, its not the majority of employers who will do that and 3-5 years of some employers giving “non-white privilege” doesn’t detract from the length and scope of white privilege that has and still does exist. Yeah I totally understand where you’re coming from and I agree that now that these types of conversations about privilege/equal opportunity are happening, there is a bit more of a “catch up skew” going on where non-white people are getting a certain type of privilege from some employers

The concept of white privilege isn’t “all white people are rich because they’re white” like this girl is implying, it’s just about how being white has an inherit advantage. It’s kind of a slippery slope though, “mainstream beauty” is mostly photoshopped and heavily make-up’d so in order to meet the expectations of society many girls feel pressured to wear makeup.
