Even by your own source (that you didn't link), the average person arrested is a white male. It says the average victim is a non-white male. Whites lead the numbers in every crime category. While the percentage of the population is higher, we can't forget racial profiling and institutional racism that is rampant in this country. Again, the gangbangers aren't going out to be firefighters. It's dangerous to lay blanket statements down.

So...... you got some stats? Now think of this also. We don't care about the gun violence stats, because gangbangers aren't aspiring to be firefighters. We're looking at druggies, drunks, and abusers. To say that out of those three groups minorities have to lead the numbers is just inherently racist.

The topic brought up was a social stigma against men seeking help. I'm not telling anyone to just stop being who they are. I'm not telling anyone to just man up and get over it by themselves. I'm saying go get some help. I have very intimate experiences with mental health issues. They are not my own, but they are in people very close to me. And what they need/needed is help. Now this is coming from someone who doesn't feel these social pressures, but this "norm" is only inside ones head. You need directions and you're a dude? Uh, go ask where something is. It's not a great example, but if you aren't healthy, mentally or physically, who the fuck cares what other people think? Go get some help.
