I'd like to offer a respectful rebuttal here, feel free to comment back or not, and do expect several downvotes on my comments as I certainly will get some. As a feminist- I think theres a loud minority that have slipped into extremism that I am against. Once it hits misandry & control, thats extremism, & it gives regular old feminists a bad name. However- I would like to rebutt the idea of "masculinity being a toxic trait." There is nothing toxic about being a masculine man. If you're masculine…

As a feminist- I wouldn't call that feminism. Once it becomes about misandry & control, that's extremism. Which can happen in nearly any group you see- religious extremists, political extremists, & you can even find it in some of the viewpoints on this specific sub. Some of it could certainly come down to confirmation bias, & echo chambers, or even bad personal experiences that lead to extremism. Men do face issues- but, I do agree with the concept that a huge chunk of the issues faced by men we…

LOL at the downvote. Don't make false claims you can't back up without sources. Men do face legitimate issues that should absolutely be addressed- but this ain't it. If you don't like women bashing you, don't put down women to try to legitimize your issues. That's unecessary.

Bro....what? This took like, one google search. If you're gonna make a claim at least back it up with sources. It had nothing to do with "not working." Even working women legally were required to have a cosigner until 1974. https://www.bankrate.com/finance/credit-cards/history-of-women-and-credit-cards/#:~:text=women%20in%20mind.%E2%80%9D-,1974%3A%20The%20Fair%20Credit%20Opportunity%20Act,card%20in%20their%20own%20name. Again, this is all respectful: I think the issue I would have had with the statement above is the "they don't practice what they preach," but, you yourself did say you can't assume so I can't really knock your argument on that. I haven't watched any of her other videos, don't follow her, but I wouldn't necessarily assume based on a single video that she doesn't practice what she preaches. Now if her other videos indicated that she's being hypocritical, then her actions speak louder than words an…

Well sure- everyone has their own choice and thats their right. They can choose to call out shitty behavior, or they can choose not to call out shitty behavior. But unless Im mistaken, what the video lady is saying (I dont know or follow this woman) is that if you are not calling out that behavior, then don't be shocked if women view you as being complicit. If you do not want to be lumped in with that type of behavior, then call that behavior out. Now of course- you don't have to if you don't wa…

I mean, if you see a male coworker or friend being creepy to a female coworker or another friend, and you don't call it out- can the assumption be made that you are ok with that behavior? If I see unacceptable behavior from either sex I call it out, because I both don't condone it, and do not want to be complicit. Doesn't mean that I wouldn't appreciate others doing the same, nor that I am any less independent for appreciating the help. Can an independent person never ask for help? I feel like t…

Don't know who this chick is but...the conclusion made here seems like a stretch. I feel like she expressed herself pretty clearly- I'll give a hypothetical though that may make more sense to you: If you were discussing how, lets say, you feel feminists don't take domestic violence against men seriously, and their response was "YEAH KYLE BUT NOT ALL WOMEN ABUSE MEN," then it's going to feel pretty damn dismissive. They have completely missed the point- because clearly, you probably logically kno…

(she posting bikini pictures of herself while dating him). Which, respectfully, I'm disputing. There is nothing disrespectful about posting a bikini picture, the same way its not disrespectful for a male to post pictures in his swim trunks at the beach. Can you explain what is disrespectful about that? And her answer is unequivocal: nobody can be disrespectful to ME while I can do whatever damn thing I want. Because gender. Again, respectfully, that seems like a stretch. Where does she state or …

I have seen both terms used to describe the same issue, so you're not incorrect in referring to it as a mental load. They're used pretty interchangeably. I think for either sex, men or women, unless they are actively being deceived, it's their own fault for entering into a marriage with a partner thats filled to brim with red flags. While some women and men are fantastic liars, and in those situations I feel genuine empathy for the neglected or abused party, most of those cases result from one o…

That's 100% true- It only takes one person speaking up and being brave though to cause a domino effect where others speak up. I think theres also safe ways to approach the crazies; pull out your phone for example and let them know they're being recorded and you have 911 on speed dial. Keep a safe distance between the two of you, make it clear that this behavior is unacceptable, and if they continue to cause issues you will call the police. And of course, regardless of your sex, carry some protec…

I think that largely needs to be done by peers.not accepting crap behavior. That's going to require a societal shift to a degree, and some guts on the person calling the behavior out, but I think when people see crap behavior from their peers, they need to let them know they're being crap. Call them out. The same way that I would suggest men to call out "locker room talk" or rape jokes, and make it known that thats crappy behavior that won't be tolerated in their circle, I would suggest to women…

No I totally caught your drift, to clarify here my original comment was actually in response to the line "mouthy women deserve to be slapped." I dont think women, OR men deserve to be slapped for any reason really. I also agree that hateful, bigoted women get away with being hateful and bigoted because they can. I would suggest though, and could be wrong here, that their real consequence is alienating anyone who actually cares about them with their sh** behavior. Miserable people attract other m…

I'm just not for physical violence from either sex, or intimidation from either sex. Im also not hating on men here for normal emotion, but Im especially against advocating for violence to be used against either sex. Domestic violence is domestic violence whether its the man OR the woman doing the abusing. Unless out of self defense, its never necessary to start throwing hands like that.

.....I see yall have never frequented the abortiondebate subreddit. Listen guys, Im all for being able to opt out of parenthood, child support included. You don't want a kid, cant afford a kid, whatever. You should be able to opt out. But seriously, it is in fact SO common to be told as a women "just dont have sex if you dont want a baby," that theres literally thousands, and I do mean thousands of comments like that in abortiondebate reddit community. Theres even entire posts lambasting those c…

Respectfully, as a woman myself, that's not what emotional labor means. I'm sure some shitty, immature women do think and act like that, and I don't support that crappy behavior. Men deserve emotional support just as much as women do, and to be able to express their emotions without immediate judgement or minimization. But seriously, for education purposes here, emotional labor does not mean "emotional support." Emotional labor, in the context of relationships, is anything a partner does to keep…

Has it ever occurred to you...that BOTH sexes should just keep their hands to themselves? I don't know about you, but if either sex can't keep their hands to themselves, maybe they should be removed from society and given therapy until they can learn to be respectful. Novel idea, I know.

If that boundary is hypocritical, then no it would not be well adjusted. She cannot tell the man not to like other womens pictures if she herself is liking other mens pictures. That would not be a boundary, but a control tool. But if she does not actively go online to like the opposite sexes scantily-clad pictures, and has expressed a boundary that she expects the same from her partner, then that is in fact well adjusted and a completely normal boundary to set. Which is exactly the same for man-…

Any well adjusted man would in fact have 0 issue with his partner exposing their body if he also exposes his body. Well adjusted men do not attempt to control their partners body or how they choose to display their body- and on the flipside, neither do well adjusted women. Everyone has a body, they aren't special. And if you actually date a woman who shares your own values, you would in fact not be burned alive for expressing a value for modesty if you yourself also practice modesty. Hence as st…

Patriarchal ideals are a huge factor- but they have negative impacts on both men and women, and are NOT the only contributing factor to issues in society that pertain to men. Patriarchal ideals are generally the "traditional" mindset- for example, men have to provide, women have to care for children. Men have to be stoic, women are emotional. Men have to be "strong" and women have to be soft. Men are "in control" or "make the rules," women follow. While theres nothing wrong with a man who prefer…

Alright I'll take a crack at it, and probably get downvoted but just to preface- this is not some blanket statement on all men. If you are a man, and these statements don't fit you, then apply the "shoe doesn't fit" motto. And, on the flip side, these are not mutually exclusive to men. Women can, and do fit these criteria as well, so take it on an individual basis. And to preface, I am a feminist who stumbled across this thread- the article is poorly written, but I'll try to clarify a few things…

...Are you aware that feminism in fact also discusses these issues and agrees? Feminists, not misandrists, in fact would like society to stop telling men that they cannot express their emotions or defend themselves against domestic violence. You know who generally tells men to "man up" and stop being "crybabies?" Patriarchal ideals.

Please explain how this is hypocritical in any way? If either partner sets a boundary that they do not want the other partner liking specific pictures, then yes it would be disrespectful to break that boundary. That is not at all the same as either partner posting their own pictures online that they consented to post. Thats a false equivalency. Its your duty, whether monogamous or not, to respect your partner(s) boundaries. So if for example, the woman in the video has expressed a boundary not t…

Yet short, broke, and fat dudes marry all the time and have successful and loving marriages; which is more than people who are so focused on such superficial nonsense can say.
