It depends on the profile of the woman. Many times, there’s nothing to go off of, so I’ll just ask an interesting question (usually about music at parties). If there is something in the profile, than I will use that to come up with an opener. I’ve noticed that if they want to respond, they will no matter what you open with. I’ve opened with some funny shit and gotten nothing and other times it’s just “hey” and I get a response

I am 22 and used to be in the same situation as you (out of shape, socially awkward around girls, etc). First and foremost, you need be working out on a regular basis so you are at least somewhat physically fit. I used to be very out of shape and getting into shape boosted my confidence. Since you are 21, I assume you are in college. If so, join some sort of club to meet people (guys and girls). Having female friends around you is very good for your social skills. From my experience, other girls…

Only face to face. I think I have an idea of what to do though when I see her next

Not often because we work in totally separate areas. Our shifts overlap and I do see her. I’m just struggling to accept that it is not just utter disinterest since the behavior is just so different.

I would say my objective right now is just to figure out if she is interested in more than a friendly way.

How would recommend going about figuring out if that is what is going on or if it is just major signs of disinterest?

That was what I was initially thinking, but I have many people telling me they act like that with people they’re attracted to, especially at work

You think? I was wondering if she may be unconsciously overcompensating for something because her interactions with me are the polar opposite of the conversations with other people

I say hello to her all the time. She says hi back, but she just isn’t as talkative and outgoing with me as with the other employee’s, so my mind reads that as obvious disinterest, but i could be wrong.

That is true. I am a bit hesitant to make the first move given it is the workplace and things could get very awkward if I am wrong. I just can’t Figure out why I am literally the only person she isn't outgoing with. When I was younger and approached women in school after misreading signs, things would be awkward for months, if not years afterward

I'm in the same boat as you man. Girl I occasionally see at work always says hi and talks to me first. I don't really know her, but it seems like she always puts herself in a position that I have to go by her and talk. Any thoughts from you guys

Do not bow down to her like she is a goddess is what I mean

Does she have low self esteem? If so, then it wouldn't be hard to get her. Don't pander to women though. It's very weak

She needs to resolve her issues before you get with her. She will just redirect her problems onto you

I understand your perspective, but I'm being dead serious when I say nobody has ever told me I need to talk to a girl. I just thought is was slightly bizarre and wanted to know if something like that has happened to one of you before. I've dealt with a lot of social anxiety in the past, so I do tend to overanalyze situations

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
